I’m a woman, and I like woman, and I see tonnes of women every day where I’m like “OH MY GOD SHE’S SO CUTE I WANNA TOUCH HER BUTT!” Or where I wanna tuck the loose hair behind her ear, or wipe the chocolate off her upper lip.

But here’s the thing: they didn’t give me permission to touch them, so I don’t. I offer the girl a napkin to wipe her face, because it’s not ‘cute’ or ‘romantic’ if it’s unsolicited. If a girl has hair in her eyes, I say “may I?” if I know her well enough to offer to pull her hair out of her face for her. and now for a little rant I like to call, Growing Up With Harry Potter: Accepting that JK Rowling is Not as Perfect As You Thought She Was When You Were Thirteen and That’s OK

I think it’s really interesting the way everyone is beginning to respond to Harry Potter in hindsight. There’s this whole generation of kids born in the nineties who were young enough when Deathly Hallows came out that we’ve had the opportunity to read the complete series through a few times throughout our adolescence, and been subject to the uncomfortable identification of new issues with each re-read.
