heiran awakens alone.

 memories flitter, unseen birds that sing and swoop, chirps of sound disorienting as they swirl through her head and imagery fades from the mind’s eye. her heart beats tremulously, uncertain of its rhythm in its distress. the damp scent of rarely walked upon floors and rotted flowers makes it through the sensory overload. her eyes settle first, a dark room illuminated barely by a dying torch that paints shadows. a scream silences the internal babble. her mother’s last prayer- a primal, begging, scream. 

 curling in on herself, she sobs. the world has become real, achingly so. her delicate frame struggles under the weight of returning to consciousness. hands grasp tightly a necklace that bares the insignia of house seong, purple bolts of lightning in a sea of stars. free from what ever fugue had held her captive for so long, yet imprisoned by the reality of what her last clear memory tells her. her family is gone.

 when the initial wave of grief subsides, periwinkle sleeves brush the floor as she props herself up. the earthy smell and coolness of the pavers is unmistakable now that heiran’s mind has settled, a memory of being led through the dragonstone catacombs as a child by her grandmother, her hand firmly grasping heiran’s as they walked.

hi everyone, hope you’re having a good week so far! I’m eve/evie, and i’ve been out of the game for about two years now, so forgive me please as i get used to all of the tumblr changes and all that jazz! 

i’m really excited to share lady heiran with you all- she’s been missing for fifteen years and has no idea where she’s been and only retains the knowledge that her family is dead, and that her firebending abilities have grown, especially in regards to lightningbending. it’s like when the perfect word is on the tip of your tongue, you know that the word exists, but your brain can’t think of it. heiran was found in the catacombs, unconscious and with nothing on her person asides from her clothes and a necklace that features her house’s sigil (lightning bolts with stars).

the tl;dr on house seong is that it was a prominent all female house founded by a renowned spiritualist whose power was linked to a goddess whose name was never shared. members of house seong don’t tend to marry, preferring instead to be able to move freely and have daughters with men of great spiritual power/inline with their goddess’  guidance, and handle the raising by themselves but have been known to accept assistance in the form of money, protection, and information. fifteen years ago, house seong consisted of five members (haerin’s mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin), all of whom were brutally murdered by an unknown adversary, and a cursed energy lingers on their land.

haerin was presumed dead as her body was never found, so her sudden emergence would certainly cause a bit of a stir. as her family were prominent in regards to spiritual guidance, and traveled frequently, i’m sure there’s plenty of opportunities for family ties, vague familiarity, and all that good stuff. i’m open to pretty much anything and would love to talk plotting with people!
