latin review goes so much better when it’s accompanied by dutch hot chocolate and avocado toast topped with heirloom tomatoes, hard-boiled egg and crushed pistachios.

New Year, New Attitude.
Everybody always hypes up New Year’s Eve. Between the excess of glitter, the flowing champagne and the ever-so-fantastic dream of a midnight’s kiss looming overhead, I can’t help but feel wrong for not participating in the celebration. Don’t get me wrong, I was more than happy to say good riddance to 2015. However, and maybe it’s due to my age, I happened to feel much more reflective than giddy this year.
The past twelve months have taught me more lessons than I can ever remember having to learn. Its highs were full of ear-to-ear grins, tingling toes and roaring fits of laughter. Its lows almost pulled me down into permanent states of grieving and despair, but it was in these moments that I discovered how to take each experience as a whole and react accordingly. I know that whenever a multitude of bad things happen, I like to question what I did to deserve the punishment. However, I came to realize that life is, as cliche as it sounds, a roller coaster. In its ups and downs, we find the difference between living and merely existing.
I’ve spent far too many years writing resolutions that were truly unrealistic. This year, I just want to focus on the positive. Lucky for you folks, I’m writing them all down here so I can be held accountable if I start slacking off.
In 2016, I hope to…
write more (both on my blog and in my journals)
exercise
meditate
drink lots of water
start up my YouTube channel
relearn French
live for the little things
What are your goals for 2016? Send me a message or tag me in a tweet and let me know. Let’s make this year amazing!

Hi friends! I’m so excited to introduce my new series of monthly favorites.
Between being a full-time student, leading four different clubs, being an active member of fourteen more and juggling the task of being my sister’s maid of honor, working an internship with the amazing Merryweather Films, participating in a newstudies program for broadcast journalism and keeping up with my job as the township face painter, things have been insane. While I absolutely adore being busy, I have made it a major priority to create a steady routine to fall back on when I’m in a little too deep.
That being said, I have come up with a list of products and other things that have helped make my life a little less hectic and a lot more easygoing. I know I can always rely on these bad boys to get me through the day!
MAKEUP
HAIR
Guardian Angel Gloss Finish Blow-Out Lotion helps keep your hair from going from bouffant to burnt. göt2b | $12.99
FACE
Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub leaves your face feeling refreshed and refined, without the irritation or harshness of other exfoliators. St. Ives | $4.49
The POREfessional face primer leaves your skin feeling silky, smooth and seemingly Photoshopped. benefit | $31
Chocolate Soleil Medium Matte Bronzer makes for the perfect natural contour. This was actually a reward from Sephora, but you can pick up several different shades and sizes at most beauty stores. Too Faced | $30
All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is the best thing that ever happened to me. If you want to do a fabulous look for a night on the town, come home, sleep on it and wake up the next morning looking like a supermodel, this is the stuff for you. Urban Decay | $30
EYES
World Famous Neutrals Eyeshadow Kit is a collection of dazzling cream and powder eyeshadows that make for the perfect rose gold daytime look. Perfect for a quick day-to-night look switch. benefit | $36
ME Classic 10 - Night Storm Eyeshadow Palette includes a gorgeous mix of nude shades and darker hues to create runway worthy smokey eyes. Makeover Essentials | $75
LIPS
Brave Satin Finish Lipstick is a creamy pink-beige color that’s basically my lips but 10x better. Velvet Teddy Matte Lipstick is a deep beige tone that can pull together any look, any time. MAC 1 // 2 | $17 each
LIFESTYLE
Being able to see is a really cool thing, you know? I have been obsessing over these cat eye frames ever since I purchased them in July. Jill Stuart | Unknown
These little pepper plants make the coolest pieces to frame our front door. It almost looks like a bush of neon red, orange, yellow and purple twinkly lights!
They’re technically edible but I wouldn’t suggest it. Unless you’re into having your tongue burnt off. If so, by all means... Local Garden Shop | $26 each
I would love to say that I start every morning off with a cup of tea and a peaceful mediation session, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In reality, it’s more of a 30 minute staring contest against the clock, cursing its piercing alarm, followed by a mad dash between my armoire and makeup table. Winged eyeliner is an art. You simply can’t rush perfection. However, I love to settle down in the evening with a cup of tea while I get my work done and I just had to mention this kind I got from velvet sky bakery. This was only a sample from a wedding show that my sister and I attended, but I found one very similar for you all. The Jasmine Pearl | $3.15 per oz
Let me know if you try any of these out! I’d love to hear what your favorite products are. You can find all of my contact information here.
Until next month...
Congratulations to my beautiful big sister, Alexandra, and my amazing new brother, Greg! So honored to have been able to help with your special day.
