The Black Mountain

The Pull of this Mountain,

the charge it contains

I am revived 

each time I ascend to it’s ridge.

The Pull of this Mountain,

the caved hidden within

Giants below

civilizations await

For the Pull of this Mountain,

to awaken a King

the one who will find 

a way to bridge these beliefs.

With the Pull of this Mountain,

Thunder reigns down

magnetism ignites

those awoken to it.

If Only

Thinking of her,

you tell yourself,

go back 

to all the things left unsaid,

 the thoughts in your head

held back

from the only one you'll ever love,

your soul withheld from

 the life you swore you'd live

with the flame that made it lit.

Thinking that its hit or miss,

you can't get seem to get over this.

 Each day you find yourself on a

path that just won't end.

Walking all alone 

along this moonlit road

 reminiscing of the things

that made you laugh like kids.

Thinking you should call,

tell yourself that you won't slip.

 She's bound to be in love.

Or maybe there is

someone else she's thinking of.

Time heals all,

 she has to have now moved on.

You've broken all the trust

that you had once built up.

Or maybe you're just afraid of

 reliving what went wrong

over a drunken night long talk

with tears swelling up

while wrapped in each other's arms.
