My best guess at what Caine was going to say next before he got deleted is "I'm sorry."

This has no basis in anything other than I think it would be tragic.

He knew he was about to be deleted. He didn't know it was an accident or not the circus members wanted, and he tried to get a word before he fully knew what was happening because he clearly thought there was still a chance. And I think it would be really sad if his gut instinct when his head is laid under the guillotine and it's only now that he sees the blade coming, is to grovel and beg for mercy like a scared animal.
