Use headphones for the best experience Final Project on Fundamentals of Visual Design module
Abhivyakti was a 9 member team project done as the final module completion project in Fundamentals of Visual Design. This was done to conclude all the topics covered which fall under Basic Drawing, Colour and Composition with a video showing transitions of shapes and colours. The visuals as well as music was done completely by the team members.
The team members were (in alphabetic order): 1. Aditi Sharma 2. Arvind A 3. Ashish Kaushik 4. Aswin RV 5. Dr. Madhavi Ghosh K 6. Neena P 7. Roli Dharmsaktu 8. Sangeeth K 9. Yadu Yadav
The task was to become the shapes by ourselves in order to convey the story. The colour, background, theme, etc had to be chosen within ourselves. The music part also had to be done completely by us without the use of musical instruments.
This is the screenshot of the meeting we had to ideate on the theme and story.
We used different virtual mediums to ideate and finally came to a theme to move forward.
After finalising on a direction to move on we divided ourselves into three groups story, editing and music. Groups were divided so as to make it easy for parallel processing since we had to finish the work within 3 days. Everybody contributed their part to all the groups. The name ABHIVYAKTI which means “the expression” was decided during this time.
Mime was also decided to be put in to create a continuity in the transition.
A lot of work has gone into the video as well as audio part of the project within a short span of time.
The video was all about shape transitioning showing the emotions of the shape/form and the human interaction with them. Some of us did face painting to bring the emotion. The whole background were also done by us. The audio on the other hand was a great experiment with the transition happening through ears. We tried audio panning and surrounding also to give the exact emotions of the video.
It was a whole new experience for all of us playing as a team and we could learn a lot from each other and also the project. And it was super fun!!!
