‘i wonder how jacob is going to adapt the boxing day fight… i really hope he takes all the toxicity out and especially the part where ilya backs shane into the wall :(’ okay well i actually love that ilya’s been bottling up all his anger and resentment and fear and communicating in passive aggressive eyerolls for months and blows up out of nowhere during a nice boxing day afternoon and then shane responds by saying the nastiest most hurtful most breathtakingly clueless thing he can think of like a cornered animal and then ilya pulls his usual emotional cutoff and tells him to get the fuck out of his house because he’s done with the fight he started now and then shane refuses to leave and keeps repeating the same question over and over again and then ilya straight up has a cptsd rage blackout and realizes in a very visceral and horrifying way how deeply maladaptive his coping mechanisms are because by refusing to acknowledge that he has any needs at all in order not to hurt shane he is now HURTING SHANE <3 like i know it makes both of them cry and have to take a very hard look at how they’ve been acting as partners and people but it makes me happy to get all that catharsis so :)

Scary movie 6 lowkey looks so tame it’s hilarious. Like I get the screenwriters work in Hollywood so half the shit that could actually be anywhere near controversial would get ridiculously sanitised, but still, for a movie which says it’s going to be canceled, its kid shit. I have heard groups of 10 year olds in a coffee shop saying worse stuff than that lol. If they actually wanted to be controversial, they’d have to commit. Rewrite the whole movie using instagram reels comments written about horrific 27 car pileups and then you might have a chance of getting discussed on twitter

sometimes I’m reminded that there are still people who don’t know ao3 was literally created by incest shippers — and the site’s sole purpose is to 1. be completely against censorship and 2. host all kinds of dark, taboo fics that are banned on other platforms — and the first ever fic that was posted on ao3 was a fic about an incest ship from supernatural.

you are in the house that was created by freaks. for freaks (affectionate). every disgusting thing you can think of is rightfully allowed and welcomed on ao3, because they are exactly the reasons why ao3 was created in the first place.

ao3 was created because its creators got tired of censorship, they got tired of dark and taboo fics getting banned on pro-censorship platforms, and they wanted a place that was safe for ALL FICS THAT WERE DARK AND TABOO.

ao3’s main principle is being against censorship and being proship / profic.

there are some things in fiction that make me uncomfortable, but instead of shaming people who are just minding their own business and not harming anyone in real life, I choose to curate my own internet experience by blocking/muting what I don’t want to see. ao3 has excellent tagging system, so instead of being a bitch, use their tagging system properly and you won’t see the things you don’t want to see.

it’s your job to curate what you see. it’s not other people’s jobs or responsibilities to censor themselves for your personal comfort. the world does not revolve around you.

also you cannot censor “only the things you personally hate” without expecting everything else, that isn’t of conservative beliefs, to be censored too. because censorship is a slippery slope and a fascist tool. I promise you there are people who think “why do tags for queer love even exist on ao3? they’re grooming children”.

if you allow the things that you hate to be censored — because someone with enough power gets to control what other people can and cannot create/consume, it will not stop at the things that you hate.

Im kinda annoyed at the "punk/goth is inherently leftist" take, it erases the history of right wing influences, the nuanced of scense and bands, the nazi/ fascist history in both scenes, and the work that's been put in to make them better.

Now these scenes SHOULD be progressive, cuz it allows diversity, inclusively, radical organising and the subcultures to expand but saying they already are, is a thought terminating cliché, it makes us forget the work we have to do to make these spaces better, erases the hate and hurt these spaces has caused.

This consistant rewriting of goth and punk history (not actually understanding the complex and nuanced contect of these subcultures) falls under a grand narrative, that we've always been perfect, when songs like "nazi die" had to be made because of how maluable punk is, and because we want its family definition to not let nazis in.

The calling of goth "specifically leftist" is increasingly strange too, as arguably goth was a pulling away from the harsher more radical sides of punk. Obviously there is progressive politics involved such as gender qeering, sexual autonomy and individual liberation, but these things are arguably still kinda liberal and individualist (definitely are the bases for more radical action tho)

These subcultures origins may not be the most revolutionary (arguably they are most in line with Sitiationalism which i have my own gripes with) but they definitely have the potential for more radical ends as they have proven to be in certain contexts

TLDR, punk and goth have never been overall radical movements in context to politics like anacrhism (there are definitely cointer examples like chumbawamba), but they can be radical if we make it
