athena mae harris never wanted the life she was given but being born october 29th, 1997, into a family of one of the most fearful and powerful businessmen/women in new york she had been kept in the dark by her family, her parents tried one last time for a girl and luckily enough when they got pregnant this time around Athena was a girl. By the time she was born her two older brothers were six and eight years old,  making her the youngest of three and also the only girl of the family, so growing up with just brothers was very rough for her.

For a small part of her childhood she grew up in Raliegh, NC and then when she was seven her family without warning had upped and moved the entire family to New York where she then grew up and she wouldn’t find out why until she about seventeen years old.

Growing up she was very shielded away from her family’s lifestyle, and kept in the dark about family secrets for her own good. Since she was the youngest and the only girl her parents didn’t want her to get too involved at first, they thought if she was kept in the dark longer the more of a chance she would join them.

Now the secrets her family has aren’t the type of secrets you’d think, like dad  had an affair with the company's secretary, or mom slept with dad’s best friend. No the secret’s spilled out when the death of athena’s 2nd oldest brother was murdered in cold blood in attempt to get back at the Harris family four years ago. as  her parents say they own an oil company by the name Harris Inc. but in reality that company is just a front of what really is going on behind closed doors. Harris Inc is just a codename for her family to hide behind the fact that they run a pretty big drug / fake stock / illegal gun sales business in New York (think wolf of wall street). The skeleton’s in the closet that unfolded from the murder made Athena sickened by her family and pretty much cut off all ties with the family until she could face them again but because of this she lost the bond she had with her oldest brother too hurt that he was one that helped keep her in the dark

Instead of focusing on the death of the brother she put all her focus on school attending NYU for business, because she thought she’d be following in the family footsteps of joining an actual company but put that focus to one day open up her own business for something good. Because she focused on school she was able to graduate a year early making her be part of the class of 2018

she’s also generally really sweet but that’s because she uses that as an advantage to get people to join in on all her plans and fun.she’s really loyal to her friends but to her enemies she’s a snake, she will do anything to ruin their life try to find their deepest secret and expose them only because that’s the kind of person she is

Because as much as I might like to have two coffees after the graveyard shift I had, I know I’ll be buzzing like a bee if I do.” They chuckled. Honestly they’d rather give it to someone else instead of throwing it away and wasting the coffee, so they thought they might as well offer. “Take advantage of today’s good fortune.” She winked playfully. @villagestart

she was late beyond measure but she wasn’t skipping out on coffee for the life of her, because she knew if she went to teach a yoga class without at least a bit of caffeine in her both her and the class would feel like hell and she couldn’t just have that. if only she had stayed home the night before instead of agreeing to go out knowing she’d have to wake up early to instruct a nine o’clock class. she almost groaned when she saw the line but still got into it before her attention was pulled away from looking at the menu to the other who had just come beside her and though they had kept talking to gladly took the coffee immediately taking a sip from the cup letting out a sigh, “you, you are god sent i swear.” she said her eyes opening and looking at niki, “i will always take your second flirting barista coffee,” she said a smile on her face.

“hey, psst!” Ace waved towards the person approaching, attempting to get their attention before walking up to them, not wanting to startle them. “hi, um, this is very random, i know, but, uh, so i have an extra ticket to this immersive art experience because the person who was supposed to join me ended up bailing at last minute,” he says, purposely leaving the part of being stood up out, he already felt lousy, he didn’t feel like adding embarrassed to the list too. “you wouldn’t be interested in spontaneously hanging out with me for like two hours and taking the extra ticket, would ya?”

it had been one of her rare days off and she had planned on spending it out and about touring the city she grew up in getting to see bits of the city she had yet seen. taking a bit of a break before her attention was diverted to the male confusion settling over her as she pointed to herself as he grabbed her attention a smile on her face before she listened to him brows raised, “someone actually bailed on an experience like that?” she questioned in disbelief taking a deep breath a laugh passing through her, “i mean as long as you promise not to be some crazy ax murderer then yeah i’d love to.. i mean you caught me on a good day and that ticket cannot go to waste.”

How limited was her vocabulary right now? Realizing that suddenly she was the only one in the class, Taryn gave a half smile, “I’ll get going.” Words said one thing, actions said another as she stood still in place.

as taryn spoke athena’s brows furrowed, “oh yeah.. i mean i always teach classes during this time during the week.. everyone else do the later times.” it worked for her she was here during the day and at the diner at nights it was a never ending cycle that she knew she had told the other woman. as she balanced everything in her arms she gave a slight smile, “trying to do new things, i suppose it was meant to be a bit tougher.” they both didn’t move. they should have but they didn’t, “why’d you start coming again...” she found herself asking before she could even stop.

her eyes stays glued to to the door that led back into the kitchen where hank’s ‘office’ had been and she just takes a moment waiting before looking over at the other girl shaking her head, “i’ve never actually seen him take our side before he always makes us be the bad guy and complains to us when customers complain about us, so it’ll be interesting to see.” she admits her eyes going back just in time to see hank emerge from the back and head over to the table where everything slowly began to quiet down.

“of course.” she said as she gave a nod as she smiled softly reaching to take the now empty glass so she could get them male a refill. she only had a little bit left of the night anyways so making her last few rounds was the least she could do. it took a few moments before she had returned with his drink setting it down gently on the table before she let out a breath her hands coming to rest against her hips, “according to them it’s the hardest thing to do. i swear no one taught them inside voices.” she tried to joke her eyes rolling a bit as she looked over at the table as well, “but thanks for saying i’m not the worst waitress the customers before you would disagree but it’s mainly because of that table.”
