the continued erasure of suki as a key member of team avatar is something that genuinely baffles me.

she's not in legend of korra (not even by name), she's not in 90% of promo and merch content of the gaang, when she IS included she's either in her prisoner uniform or her kyoshi warrior uniform - never just in regular clothing like everyone else. she is constantly shoved to the side and forgotten by the fandom, with people bringing up yue more than her in regards to sokka (when he is actively dating suki). there's no information on their relationship after the show's end aside from a few moments in the comics. and she was not in the new movie at all, when she absolutely could have been included very easily. it's sad and embarrassing and it really makes no sense at all.

without her, the final battle would not have been won. sokka and toph would have died on the airship. without her, appa wouldn't have made it back to aang. she is a VITAL character and we need to start treating her as such.

out of respect for the crew (animators, VAs, sfx/vfx & sound designers) that worked so hard on it i'm going to avoid sharing too much about the movie on here/on other platforms in general.

out of disrespect for paramount for being stupid i'm going to say i HAVE watched it and it was very good and everyone looked stunning and i cannot BELIEVE they scrapped this from being released theatrically. that is all.

dang yall im getting flamed for my recent kataang/zutara post !!!!

apparently i have no imagination and don’t know what im talking about. SO…

u guys remember atla is a KIDS SHOW right??? no matter how many heavy themes they deal with (and they do - they deal with them extremely well), at the end of the day the show is for kids. and they’re gonna push the “happily ever after” story. the fact that the main male and main female characters got together in the end was almost a no-brainer for this kind of kids show. and it’s not just atla that does this.

now i’m not saying that zutara could never ever have happened. if the show was slightly different - older target audience, more seasons, etc etc - then yeah they probably would’ve gone the zutara route. and that’s fine. i don’t have any gigantic feeling for OR against zutara (or kataang - again, im a sukka girlie).

HOWEVER to say i have no imagination when im purely stating something a) true and b) obvious is a bit much. maybe i shouldn’t have brought up dramione as a comparison ok my bad. i was thinking about the way dramione fans idolise that ship. i was thinking about s1 katara and zuko. my bad there. but at the end of the day atla is still a kids show and these kinds of kids shows don’t do the whole complex-romantic-relationship thing. kataang is canon because they were written to be. they are canon because aang is the main character, but ALSO because they were actively written to be drawn to each other and to like each other and so on.

HOWEVER i feel like ruffling a few feathers so i WILL say that zutara fans need to remember aang is the main character. katara was always going to end up with him. sorry not sorry! (plus mai and zuko r so cute too like hello ???)
