I have never seen Midna so much as look at one of her two nerite snails, aside from when I direct the camera at one of them. Then it’s very much “why are you looking at that thing? see my nice big fins? my sparkly scales? look at me instead!”
It’s nice though because even when she’s darting around like this, occasionally bumping into Zant or brushing against his feelers with her fins, he doesn’t retreat back into his shell at all and just keeps moving along. That, to me, is a good sign that he feels safe and unthreatened by Midna, and also tells me that she leaves him and Jenkins alone even when I’m not around. It’s a stark contrast to what you see when a snail is around a betta that is nippy, at least from my own experience with bettas and nerites.
