What do you mean the new Ellipsus assigns reading levels to fics?

Part of me wants to know, but at the same time I don't because I've been writing for over 30 years and I won't accept anything less than an adult reading level on my work

they rolled out the new like... premium version? I have the trial for it rn and one of the features is writing insights. like sentence length, most used words, vocab variation, etc. It's kinda neat, and it kinda rolls them all together to give you an idea of what reading level (based on US schools I think) your work fits into based on those metrics. this fic was rated at a 4th grade reading level. (well, 4.5. So a 4th grader in like. February or something lmao)

I personally don't put a lot of stock in that particular metric but I do like being able to see things about flow and which words I'm maybe using more than I thought I was haha. Like on this enemies to lovers fic my most used word (aside from names) is 'back', so now I'm keeping an eye out for when I reach for that word and if there's a different way I could phrase things for a little more variation.
