Theo following Liam around all of season 6 was my most favorite moment in the thiam saga. It showed Theoâs ability to care for someone other than himself.
I honestly donât think we can really say that Theo wasnât in love with Liam. He came out of hell and immediately decided to be loyal to Liam.
Even Scott saw it.
Theo took a look at Liamâs blue eyes and said, yeah thatâs the one I want. â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
Meanwhile:
âYou broke my nose!â
âThree times.â
look, not to make everything gay on main, but there is no platonic explication for theo's behaviour towards liam in season 6. absolutely none.
come on yall there is absolutely no doubt that the healthiest and strongest canonical relationship in the entirety of teen wolf was morey.
Theo ironically becomes the one to help Liam the most with his anger (not that Scott, Stiles, or Mason donât try, because they really, really do). Theo just understands in a way they donât. He doesnât baby Liam, doesnât treat him like he's fragile.
Theo never says âcalm downâ because when has that ever worked? Especially on a 5â7 werewolf with a fucking IED.
No, Theo stands firm, grips Liam's shoulders and tells him, âBreathe, Dunbar,â or âDonât focus on that shit. Look at me. Just breathe.â Sometimes he's rough, half his strength pushing down to keep the younger wolf grounded. And the more Theo does this the more it seems to work.
This definitely doesnât end with Theo becoming Liamâs anchor.
(It absolutely does)
When Liamâs really mad (eyes glowing and claws out) Theo doesnât hesitate to slam him to the ground, pressing their bodies together until Liam is no longer shaking. He only moves when Liam speaks, âGet the fuck off me,â voice hoarse but sounding like Liam again.
But Theo doesnât try to fix Liam. He lets Liam feel because what's the point in trying to suppress something that will never go away?
When Liam need to let his anger out, Theo drives him to abandoned buildings and grins as Liam shatters everything in sight. He watches Liamâs flushed face, his eyes glowing and his chest heaving - and it does something to Theo, something he refuses to admit.
His favorite nights are when none of these things help. It's when Theo realizes the only thing to help Liam is a real fight.
Theo is more than happy to be the person Liam lets his anger out on. He doesn't admit it, but he loves when Liams fists collide with his own body. It doesn't hurt, even though it should because fuck, Liam is strong. Every punch and shove sends jolts of electricity through Theo's body, straight to his heart.
Liam becomes a drug, and Theo canât get enough.
Theo definitely doesnât love pinning Liam down and pressing their bodies together. Their mouths only inches apart, breath ragged. He stays there until Liam surrenders, animalistic growls turning human again.
And they definitely donât talk about the way they stay, long after the fury burns out. Their lips brushing until they collide, kissing with the same intensity they fought with.
Theo knows maybe they should talk about it, but they don't. Both boys too scared to sacrifice what they have with each other. Liam who finally has someone that understands, someone who knows how to handle him. And Theo finally having something (or someone) that matters.
So, I can't get over this. Theo is self-medicating (removing bullets, stitching himself up, etc.) simply because he prefers that pain to the knowledge of being defenseless on an operating table again. Theo is fucking traumatized and doesn't even know it, and everyone mistakes this for recklessness or ignorance, while he's just terrified.
The fact is, Theo knows how to flirt, he knows how to be attractive and how to make himself desirable. Think of Tracy, Malia, Hayden, each had every reason not to be manipulated by him, yet they fell for it. Imagine how easy it would have been to make Liam fall at his feet, a fragile boy who just wanted to be loved and appreciated despite his IED and his problems.
But Theo doesn't want to manipulate him, and to be honest, he doesn't even want him. He just wants to be forgiven, to be kind, he wants Liam to be happy and to be safe, to be gentle with him while everyone else is throwing violence at him.
It was a good plan until Liam falls in love anyway.
theo's actually so easy to read when you put all the pieces together. this guys fixated on a pack, something that belongs to *him*, because he doesnt have any family left.
so what's the next best thing?? a pack!!! duh. it makes logical sense.
& then following that, when he can't get a pack thats actually functional, he goes for the next best thing: literally one singular genuine friend/companion. aka liam.
it actually makes so much sense when you really think about it, he's not some conniving genius, he's just a lonely little 17 year old lmao
it makes me wonder why no one on the show itself could really figure it out. Hes Seventeen Hes Not Evil You Idiots
why is every teen wolf character such a fucking yearnerđ like be gay nobody gaf itâs beacon hills you have much bigger things to worry about
I just love Theo being devoted and liam  not realizing it. He drives him around when his truck is almost out of gas. He lets him borrow a sweatshirt even when itâs the only clean one he has. His love language is acts of service because thatâs all he thinks heâs useful for.Â
Just a quick reminder
Theo always objects when someone says to send him back to hell (Hayden, Scott, Malia) BUT he doesn't object at all when Liam does it (after the ghost rider trap).
Theo bases his entire self-perception on Liam, and if Liam thinks he's not worth it, Theo believes it.
THEO COMES BACK FROM HELL AND DECIDEES TO TRUST LIAM MORE THAN HE TRUSTS HIMSELF
Can we talk about the fact that the main reason Theo and Liam bond so much is that they're both treated like rabid dogs when they just need kindness?
Can we talk about the fact that Theo is the first to be kind to Liam's emotions and Liam is the first to be gentle with Theo's mind?
Can we, as a fandom, talk about this?
Can we talk about Theo being able to calm Liam down because he's the only one who treats him like a fucking human being? Like, in all the scenes where Liam's losing it, no one tries to talk to him/distract him but everyone just looks at him or says "calm down, calm down, calm down". They all treat him like he's some kind of mad dog. And then Theo shows up and is like "you shouldn't kill him" and Liam is like "why?" and Theo is like "because we're going to need a fucking chainsaw, obviously". Theo is the first one to realize that his wolf only reacts to how his human is feeling and as a result tries to distract the human instead of stopping the wolf. Theo who is "barely even human" is the only one who recognizes Liam's humanity even when he's a "monster" and I want to fucking kill myself.
I dont know which is funnier, Liam Dunbar looking at Theo Raeken, known murderer who hurt and minupulated him and everyone he cared about and thinking "I could fix him" or Theo Raeken, known murder who's lack of morality has led him to commit unspeakable crimes, looking at Liam Dunbar, a good kid with anger issues which he has exploited in the past, and thinking "I'm gonna fix him"
