On this day, 14 July 1966 a group of US GIs were given the order to deploy to Vietnam. James Johnson Jr., David A. Samas, and Dennis Mora refused and became the Fort Hood Three: the most high profile US refuseniks to date. They were court-martialled and each jailed for five years. But they helped spark a militant anti-war GI movement which brought an early end to the conflict. She’s the writer for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, an upcoming Indian coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama with a lesbian couple.  She was also the dialogue writer for Lipstick Under My Burkha, which depicts the secret world, including the sex lives, of four small-town Indian women. She contributed to the screenplay for Wazir and Qarib Qarib Single.

I loved this book so much when I was 12, it was the first in me reading 95% of all the Dragons of Pern books and most of Anne Mcaffery's stuff in general, she was so good at fantasy and sci-fi and often blended them together.
