Wrong Explanation of a fantasy series

A custody battle between a really really really old couple over literally everything they gave birth to. One ends up murdering the other. One of the offspring murders the remaining parent. She then puts the rest of the offspring up for adoption and dies. The kids are eventually adopted by one of their own.

Spoiler Alert

The end of part 3 of Oathbringer hit me like a Stormwall.

I couldn't read Oathbringer as investedly as I read the first two books (*sigh* adult life...). But I cried multiple times within a series of a few pages.

I was extremely infuriated at Dalinar for Evi's death. Evi deserved a better husband. Fate sacrificed a beautiful soul for the sake of Alethkar. She is literally the best thing that happened to Alethkar. She not only raised Adolin and Renarin (probably the only alethi elite who are not self-centred assholes), but also left behind a better Dalinar.

Rest in peace Evi 😔

The second was the scene where Kaladin, Elhokar and the rest try to rush into the palace.

Kaladin received two bridge four salutes that day. And he'll probably remember both of them forever. One was from Adolin and the other was from Moash. 🙂

I felt kaladin's pain when he stumped, witnessing the wall guard he joined and the parshmen he helped, killing each other in battle.

I cried when Elhokar died. Not because I like Elhokar. Not because Elhokar deserved a second chance. Not even because he died holding his kid in his hands. But simply because Kaladin had to witness Moash killing Elhokar 🙃

Isn't it cute that despite Rlain being an obvious leader by nature and Renarin being anything but, it's Renarin who screws up the courage to initiate the first conversation, first hand holding, first kiss, all because he was the one who got advice from Drehy

not to disagree, but where does this "Rlain being an obvious leader by nature" come from? He's been an outsider in every society he'd lived in, afaict.

Yes. We've seen him being passive when he hasn't fit in. He always thinks a lot of stuff but doesn't say them. But in Rhythm of War, when we get to see Rlain finally speaking out, he talks with authority and decisiveness and people listen. I think that's the real him. (He orders everyone around with a bit of impatience and I love him so much.)

Rereading Era 2, I feel certain Wax and Wayne are the most iconic duo in the Cosmere

Rust and Ruin, I love Wayne. Right from the moment he first makes his appearance and says, "'ello, Wax."

I don't need an excuse to celebrate James Potter, one of the most beautiful and misunderstood fictional characters I've seen, due to a mix of movie misrepresentation and people who love an adult bully but can't forgive a boy who bullied an arch rival at the age of fifteen and grew out of it and trusted his friends with his life despite knowing there was a spy in their inside circle, had a half-giant and a werewolf for his friends, turned Animagus for his friend, adopted his outcasted best friend, married a Muggleborn and died trying to take on Voldemort without a wand to give his family a chance to run.

I'm still reading Oathbringer. I hope Sanderson makes it better at some point.
