High Maintenance tactics: Hygiene & How to smell Good.
First and foremost you must have a clean foundation and be conscious of the source of any odors before adding the extras.
Body odor can be influenced by your diet so be wary of consuming too much of the listed for they will come through pores: (Highlighted = very smelly)
Spices/ herbs such as: curry, onions, garlic
Greens such as: broccoli, asparagus, cabbage & kale
Vinegar
Seafoods
Smoking especially weed
Drinking a lot of alcohol, or coffee
Having BO is commonly the result of overused linens or not washing up properly. To avoid common BO:
Wash/ change your linens often, this includes your sheets (fitted, top, & pillowcases), your towels, washcloths and clothes
Do not re-use clothes unless it is outer wear, a pair of jeans or a bra. Use a good laundry detergent + let certain clothes (workout for instance) soak.
Use a wash cloth when you bathe. Body soaps are optional but never use scented or summers eve down there. Make sure to get your vulva good (not vag) and your booty crack! 🙊 Don’t forget to Get between your toes, behind your ears & your belly button too! Loofahs are for exfoliating.
Wash daily or as needed. You should know your limits in regards to the climate and your daily activities. A few days a week is not enough!🙅♀️ (If you are sexually active and workout sometimes multiple times a day is necessary. )
Wear appropriate underwear + know your limits. (I.e staying in thongs or silk underwear 247 is a recipe for disaster especially in a hot climate.) Alternate and let your🐱 breathe. Maybe Go free at night. Cotton is ideal for letting her breathe. Also- Don’t keep panties for too long.
Deodorant. Some will need a stronger one such as Mitchum others can use dove, just know your body.
Detox with lemon water or teas
Wear socks with closed shoes.
Mind your pets and don’t have them all over your clothes. Fur looks gross. Use lint rollers
The fun part- Fragrance:
You should build a small collection of perfume and have a signature for every season and an evening perfume. Keep a theme of similar notes.
The most well received perfumes are those with a fresh scent. So for women that’s fruity florals or beach scents. Gourmands are trendy but can be bad with certain chem and offensive. Straight up florals can be too strong too.
Play with samples to find what works for you (tip: get a perfume sample kit from a department store or Sephora)
To get your scent to last:
Let your body soak (weekly) in a nice milk or bath salt and get into your pores.
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week
Layer with a lotion that has matching notes to your perfume. An easy pick is vanilla or coco butter. Do not mix incompatible notes!
Buy designer Eau de parfumes, or use oud oils and put them on your pressure points. Some EDTs are great for a light and inoffensive scent as well. (Tip:Try the cotton ball trick if a fragrance has bad longevity + walk in cloud)
Feminine hygiene:
As stated previously, I don’t recommend any ph soaps that are not prescribed. Your vaginal health is something you need to consult with your gyno about make sure to make reg appointments! I do recommend a mild bar soap and a wash cloth
After/ before your 🔴, apple cider vinegar baths are beneficial for your overall body but especially your 🐱.
Change your pad or tampon often. I recommend pads because while inconvenient, they are heathier. For pads change them at least in 4 hrs and if you are light, wear liners instead. Cleaning with water is fine at home but I recommend unscented fem wipes or baby wipes on the go. Also wash your 🐱 more frequently as needed and don’t be too harsh.
Listen to any foul odors not caused by poor hygiene. It is likely something that can be fixed if you make an appointment. Do not run to summers eve and perfumes. 🙅♀️
Wipe front to back. no repeats with the same cloth
If you are single and active- require men to wrap it, and don’t be too nice either! Be strict about your health. If not they get no 🍪.
Download a Period tracker. If irregular consider b control or try medicinal spearmint tea.
Oral hygiene:
Use a soft bristled tooth brush and replace often
Get teeth cleaned professionally every 6 months
Brush your tounge
Use mouthwash or try oil pulling ( swishing coconut oil)
Listen to pains or odors they maybe signs of underlying problems
Tip: have a cosmetic pouch containing:
Change of cotton underwear
Sanitary napkins
Baby wipes
Travel deodorant + lotion + mouthwash
Keep this in your car/ backpack purse and downsize as needed
