sci fi is all about getting so scared and ripping tubes out of yourself. people miss this
sci fi is all about desperately trying to reclaim your violated bodily autonomy. it’s all about asserting that you are a being with agency, and you can choose what happens to your own person, even if that’s ripping tubes out of yourself. and also sometimes an alien is there
There are fake dragonflies they sell to scare away horseflies and there's a great image that goes with them

A small family of stones flying North for the Winter.
referring to my latest poll, as for my audio drama length preferences, i'd say that i'm a sucker for really short shows because im always impressed by how much story you can pack into so little time, but each length has their merits:
for example, for the especially short shows, there's dreamboy that's only eight episodes and i had a blast with that one. same with time:bombs which is even shorter.
brimstone valley mall is a pretty bingeable nineteen episodes, falling neatly into the moderate category-about two to three days to finish, depending on your preferred listening schedule. same with the infinite now that ran for twenty-six episodes and holy hell, it's up there as one of my favorite shows.
but i think the long-form is when my best listening experiments really shine:
wolf 359's sixty-one episodes, not counting the mini episodes and specials, is my ideal long-form show, just about the perfect length for its story to be told in full without going on for too long
same goes for sayer that made it to seventy, last i checked, and anyone that knows me is well aware i loved every second of it
i think the only hiccups i face are with the shows that go over a hundred. i easily tire myself out on longer shows, even if i am engaged in the plot or stories. i have the worst habit of letting them pile up because i usually need to play catch up anyway-i'll work on it
young archimedes: and other atomic inspired soundscapes, a retrofuturistic playlist made especially for my institute scientist, dr. yvette carmichael-holdren!
enjoy over an hour of modern and early electronic music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, featuring selections from the BBC radiophonic workshop and raymond scott, the father of electronic music.
i was inspired by UPA animation and illustrated science manuals from the 50s and 60s for the cover. you can listen to young archimedes on spotify or youtube!
