a compliment coming from this woman was definitely saying something, and moss shook her head in disagreement - she wasnât self conscious in any sense about her body, but she couldnât be blind to the truth beside her. was she coming on too strong? too weak? find your balance, mo. when her anxiety spiked her late parentsâ voices spoke in her ear in encouragement. nodding at the blondes words, moss offered a welcoming smile. âeveryday,â she chuckled with a shrug; not bringing up the fact that exercise curbed her alcohol cravings and was one of her main forms of recovery. âi was actually thinking of applying to be one of the trainers; you know, just as a side thing.â moss explained, giving a victorious sigh as she pulled out her favorite red socks from the bottom of her bag. âif you ever need, um,â she cleared her throat, âhelp, or anything. iâm moss, by the way.â she offered awkwardly, eyes not moving from the womanâs impeccable bone structure. and that hair. sheâd always had a thing for blondes.Â
Learning that the woman comes into the gym everyday, Audreaâs brows shot up, impressed. âThatâs definitely very impressive. I do not have strength to this everyday. Iâm exhausted just from working alone,â she chuckled. Audrea fiddled a little with the ends of her hair, âOh, what do you do? If you donât mind me asking, of course. Iâm just really impressed with how youâre able to find the energy to still workout after a long day at work,â the girl giggled a little, her eyes glinting a little. âSure! That would be great, actually, but Is it a monthly thing? Because Iâm actually leaning on signing up for the pilates class, thatâs more of my thing, but now and again I do need something a little bit more intense,â Audrea explained.Â
âI prefer the red and green tartan theme myself. I think it depends what your place looks like though,â the brunette mumbled. âI mean if you have white walls and like big windows and stuff the white and gold winter wonderland theme could be fitting,â he shrugged. Beau was no designer, but different households looked good with different themeâs. Beau had a more modern house, with yellow dimed lights and more modern furniture. A winter wonderland theme wouldnât look right in his place. âWhatâs catching your eye more?â
Audrea nodded, agreeing. She had been pondering over the white gold theme, but she was not sure which of the two options are more basic and overdone. âDefinitely the white and gold, but they are quite common, donât you think? There are probably dozens of penthouses in Manhattan alone that has the same theme,â Audrea chuckled. âThen again, it is my first time decorating my apartment for Christmas this festive, and I donât think I have the energy to host parties there.â
Irina could not believe for the life of her that this had happened, she honestly could not afford to be trapped in a place like this and would rather be at work because then at least she could be solving the open cases that were sitting on her desk;Â âWell at least this place is decent and has some interesting stuff in it right?â looking at an object on the mantel piece in front of her;Â âWhat do you suppose this thing is?â tilting her head to the side.
Out of all the places she could be stuck in during a snowstorm, she could not believe she was stuck at the Museum of Modern Art. Being stuck in her office would have been nicer, at least she could get a lot of work done. âSure at least there is some form of entertainment,â Audrea agreed. âI canât imagine being stuck at like...a bank or something,â she chuckled, remembering a storyline from one of her favourite TV show, FRIENDS. Audrea glanced over to the painting and stared at it, trying to make sense of what it was. âHuh. Maybe itâs an optical illusion; like weâre supposed to look at it a certain way,â she tried to tilt her head too.
As she scrolled through a gossip website on her phone, Charlotte scoffed. Sheâd never admit it to anyone (even if she did, sheâd deny it to her last breath), she often read the articles that circulated the internet about her⌠her natural need to keep the world revolving around her. Most of the time, the things these gossip bloggers wrote about her was amusing. It was clear they had an easy job ahead of them⌠the actress was always getting up to something. Whether it be sex tapes or affairs with a director, her life was a tumultuous one.
Stifling a laugh, she shook her head, her lips pursed as her eyes scanned the vicinity until her focus landed on the person next to her. âAs if Iâd date Brad Pitt! He tried in 2005, but heâs not my type.â Lie. He was, and sheâd already slept with him, but there was nothing she wanted from him that would warrant another round⌠plus, she was fond of Angelina. Respectable women donât take their friendâs sloppy seconds. âThese writers are using my name to put food on the table⌠I should be mad, but for all I know, they could have children to feed. I canât dispute that. I hosted a charity auction for that cause once.â â ( open for @manhattan-startersâ )
Brunch was always a good reason for her to get a few hours to herself before coming into work. Sometimes she even made sure her secretary puts down brunches in her schedule Audrea laughed a little, âBrad Pitt is not your type? How is Brad Pitt not your type? Didnât you at least swoon when he made the moves on you?â She asked, picking up the hot pot of Assam tea and poured enough to fill her empty teacup.
Audrea nodded in understanding, âI donât think you have anything to worry about. I think people are getting smarter about the things they read. Credible sources would not have been too impetuous about the things they publish,â she expressed, pouring milk into her tea and then adding a dash of honey. âBesides, is there really such a thing as bad publicity? As long as itâs not ruining your reputation, I think a fake news here and there keeps you on the circulation which is a good thing, right?â
ây-yeah,â moss offered with a slight chuckle, smoothing a strand of dark hair behind her ear. she watched the way the other put her hair up, admiring the shimmering of the blonde. oh, and then the smile, moss felt her heart skip a beat and she took a deep breath. reel it in. the woman wasnât the type to focus to much on just one woman; she liked to have a good time and was never looking for a relationship or anything romantic from others - she had commitment issues, in other words. âyou look - you look great. for the carbs i mean.â she nodded quickly, mentally kicking herself. âdo you come here a lot?â moss hadnât seen her - she would have remembered.
Audrea laughed a little as she grabbed her water bottle and a small towel before closing the locker door. âIâm really flattered, but youâre being too humble. I canât pull off what youâre wearing as well as you do,â she complimented back. Somehow the way the woman was all nervous amused the blonde a little; she did not know anyone at this gym apart from a few of the trainers she had worked with, so it felt nice to know someone there. âI donât, usually just every other weekend; I usually prefer pilates but Iâm hoping to do something with higher intensity today, so here I am,â Audrea explained. âWhat about you?â
moss was busy digging through her backpack, searching for her favorite pair of socks that she swore she packed that morning - but she was high at the time, she couldnât trust herself. when the voice beside her spoke up softly, she turned her head instinctively to look at the other and paused a moment - clearly a bit taken aback by her beauty, moss swallowed, before stuttering out - âi - uh, y-yeah. yeah.â the brunette nodded, eyes casting down to her wrist and pulling off the extra hair band she kept, passing it off to the other woman. usually so bold and confident, the drug dealer found her mouth dry as she tried to compliment the woman. âyouâre um - uhâŚâ jesus christ, mo. âvery beautiful. youâre very beautiful.â she managed to muster out, clearing her throat. âsorry. i mean, iâm not sorry about - âŚsorry.â moss shook her head, sure her cheeks were burning pink as she looked away in embarrassment, shutting her eyes a moment. dumb.
âThank you so much, youâre a lifesaver,â Audrea smiled, not minding the way she had stuttered in the beginning because she understood that it was only because Audrea had sprang on her with the question. Taking the hair tie from her, Audrea combed her blonde locks with her fingers before gathering them up into a high ponytail, securing it with hair tie. Her right eyebrow raised a little as the woman tried to finish her sentence, âOh, um...thank you,â she chuckled, stunned by the sudden compliment. âNo, no, I appreciated that. I havenât been feeling good about myself the past few days, which is why I came here to workout and at least feel like Iâve lost all that carbs Iâve gained,â Audrea laughed.

Audrea was more of a pilates girl, but when she needed to let off some steam, she liked to do something with a higher intensity. In the locker room, Audrea rummaged through her gym bag, hoping to find a hair tie in the usual place she kept it, but found no sign of it there. âDamn,â she cursed to herself, rummaging some other places hoping to find a single black hair tie somewhere in her bag. The blonde mustered enough confidence and turned to the woman next to her, âHi, Iâm sorry, but do you have an extra hair tie I could borrow?â She asked.
athena wanted to claw her skin off by the time she left her meeting. youâd think home would be the place to ease such a feeling but hers however was not so here she was in the shopping centre, waiting for the feeling to ease before she could look upon her home again. safe to say that she wasnât in the mood for a stranger to start talking to her. she pursed her lips. âdepends on what you want. traditional or notâ she replied curtly, running a hand through some tinsel on display. maybe sheâd stick up some tinsel this year. god her father would be turning in his grave if she did.
âThatâs what Iâm confused about, I mean this is going to be the first time Iâm decorating my place so should I go the traditional route or do I do something a little bit more modern,â she inhaled, skimming over the decorations that were hung neatly on the racks. âWhat about you, any Christmas plans?â She asked.
âI feel like red and green is a very safe option, perhaps for people that like to stay with their safe zones or donât want to experiment that muchâ which Sven didnât think to be much of a problem but it was just how he associated the colour combo; âI would love to see that, I think that would be amazingâ something he hadnât heard of before; âOh there is an idea, I was actually thinking of just doing something super pink because I mean what little girl doesnât love pink?â but her idea was better then what he came up with; âIf Iâm honest, and it may seem sad but we donât get that many guests over Christmasâ
âYou have really put a lot of thought into these colours, havenât you?â She laughed as she put more decorations into her trolley. âIf I regret the decision of going the modern winter wonderland route for my very first Christmas decorating, I can also blame you for this, right?â Audrea turned to some tinsels and ribbons; now this was going to take her at least half an hour to really decide. âEvery little girls usually do, but you know you can have all things pink any time of the year, Christmas should definitely be a little bit more different and special,â Audrea pointed out. Weighing between two ribbons for her tree, she chuckled a little, âDonât worry, youâre not the only one. Iâm not exactly having anyone over this Christmas either, the decorations are purely for my enjoyment.â She finally put both plenty of both ribbons in her trolley and said, âI think that might just be a little bit sadder.â
Ducking his head with a casual laugh accompanying the action Sven couldnât help but want to entertain the conversation with her; âMore like I can see it being your brand then you are being predictableâ perhaps it was the blonde hair and blue eye pairing but Sven could see it working; âDonât know if a punk-rock theme would go down well but Iâm all for originalityâ taking a liking to her sense of humour; âShe likes a bit of everything actually, last year we got all these colours in tinsel and confetti and just threw it on the tree-⌠she likes to be eccentricâ
âAh. If white and gold Christmas is part of my personal brand, I must be doing something right. I do think I can pull it off better than I can pull off green and red tartans without it looking like Mrs. Claus did my decorations,â Audrea said. âReally? I bet I could get someone to remix White Christmas with an AC/DC song or you have Green Dayâs Christmas song just lightly playing in the background while I snuggle with a steaming cup of peppermint chocolate,â she continued on with a laugh. âWhat about something to do with unicorns? You can dress up unicorn dolls in Santa outfits and have glittery stockings hanging over the fire place,â she suggested. âI realise it might confuse your guests and make you dizzy, but it might make her very happy.â
Sven was an active listener as he kept an ear out for Audreaâs response as he liked people to know that he was listening to them; âI can definitely see it fitting into your aestheticâ as he knew females to like the glitter and glitz of the gold with the white, it was quite popular; âI think whatever you come up with will be an absolute show stopperâ he personally hadnât been on pinterest himself but he didnât doubt her talent one moment; âI am actually, itâs more for my daughter, she loves Christmas and I decorate for her-⌠but I donât know what theme to go with this yearâ
Audrea lifted an eyebrow, trying to poke fun at him when he said he could see it fitting to her aesthetic. âAm I really that predictable?â She asked him. âMaybe I should put together a punk-rock-themed Christmas instead,â she said as her hand left the golden baubles she had been looking at and sauntered over to the black and grey ones. âI wonder if they have some with spikes and skulls on them,â she thought aloud, smiling coyly. âWhat are the things your daughter likes?â Audrea asked, hoping that would help him out and maybe she could steal some inspiration as well.
Sven loved winter because of Annie, it was her spirit and excitement that made him want to deck the house out just for her and usually it was her that picked everything out;Â âWell I think the white and gold is quite classy but it depends really on your tasteâ for Annie she usually liked to throw up a bunch of colours and call it a day ( and he was happy with that ) in his mind that kid could no wrong;Â âIâm Sven by the way sorry if I intruded there a littleâ
âWell, Iâm usually more of the gold and white, plain and simple thing,â she said. âBut this is the first time Iâm decorating my apartment, and now I donât know if I should go the traditional route or the modern winter wonderland theme Iâve seen countless of times on Pinterest,â she shrugged a little, turning over some of the baubles that had writings or designs painted on them. âNot at all,â Audrea chuckled. âIâm Audrea. Nice to meet you, Sven. Youâre looking for Christmas decorations too?â

Audrea had always gone home to celebrate Christmas and would usually spend almost three weeks there, that it made no sense for her to decorate her own apartment. But now that she is spending it here in New York, possibly all by herself, she wanted to go all out. Browsing through the aisles, Audrea first stopped at the display of various Christmas ornaments. Pursing her lips, she began thinking of the right colour scheme for her first Christmas at home. âWhich one do you think is better: white and gold winter wonderland or the traditional red and green tartan theme?â She asked, needing a second opinion before she buys all the ornaments according to her colour scheme.
who was that walking around manhattan? it was audrea de guinness. sheâs 29 years old, and originally come from london, england. sheâs known as the duchess, and she is a heiress & businesswoman. when i hear her name, i think of red wine on a french balcony, rose-scented everything, early morning emails, late night business calls, and impulsive flights to paris. i hear sheâs independent and intelligent, but i wouldnât mess with her, because people say sheâs impulsive and untrusting, too. [candice swanepoel, heterosexual, she/her, cis-female]Â
audrea genevière cordelia de guinness is the youngest of the de guinness sisters, daughters of abraham and josephine de guinness. the de guinness family is one of the most prominent noble family in england, making audrea and her sisters inherit the honourable title of a lady.
out of her two sisters, audrea is the only one who is interested in inheriting the family business. her eldest sister, audrey langham, was a chef and restaurateur who married american businessman and hospitality group owner, phillip langham (wanted connection). her elder sister, audra de guinness, is an actress who mainly acts in theatres such as the west end and broadway.
with both sisters pursuing their own dreams, the responsibility of a family business fell onto audreaâs tiny shoulders. not that she minded, of course, because once she had worked for her fatherâs company while she was still in college, audrea knew that this was what she was meant to do.
the de guinness company started as a trading and mining company founded in 1891 by herbert de guinness, but has since branched out to own an airline and invested in several other companies and was dubbed the de guinness empire. it was also known to have supplied diamonds to many jewellery brands.
after three years of working for the family company, audrea also wanted to start her own business. since her father had invested in a lot of other businesses and had a firsthand access to a diamond mine, she decided to open up her own jewellery business with a partner.
personality-wise, audrea is a very articulate woman. she is more on the reserved side. she is not the type to be outgoing and go to clubs every other weekend or attend parties. she has a lot of connections and networks due to her social status and her family business, but she has very few close friends that she truly trusts to be her accountable counsellors and those whose opinion really matter.
she is a hard-worker (kind of on the workaholic side too). youâll see her still thinking about work even during weekends. audrea is also the type to be able to bear a lot of stresses and remain calm under pressure, but it all would usually accumulate and when she reaches her limit, it will usually implode and cause her to feel all the stresses at once.
usually, to solve this, audrea hops on the next flight to paris. cliche as it is, paris is her sanctuary; whenever everything goes wrong, she books her penthouse suite at the george v and stays in her room or take long walks along the streets of paris. she would also shop sometimes. everything is right in paris, and it gives her a chance to visit nice where her grandparents had retired to.
she has the poise and elegance that you would expect from a nobility. the way she speaks is very diplomatic and charismatic, she has the traits of a good leader ââ communicative, stern when needed, but she is also a good listener, and a very resourceful problem-solver. when i think about her the way she carries herself and the way she speaks, i think kate middleton.
wanted connections:
ex-boyfriend (0/2)
acquaintances (unlimited, really)
business partner, the one who created the jewellery business with her
best friend (0/2)
frenemies, they could definitely run in the same social circle and have always been unable to tolerate each other.
