regulus is a really good quidditch player but not it the sharp way like sirius and not in the flowy way like james but in a really dangerous way like... is he really playing the game if hes not hanging upside down with a bludgers coming at his head??? if hes not flying vertically hanging onto the broom with only one hand???? no hes not and even though sirius claims to hate his brother it still give him a heart attack every time his little reggie does something unbelievably insane on the pitch also james thinks its hot af that his boyfriend can demolish him on the field.

reg joined the slytherin quidditch team in 5th year after sirius ran away because his parents wanted him to be more like sirius.

he practiced every summer with sirius because he wanted to hang out with his brother and his brother wanted to be on the quidditch team because james did as well, so once a year regulus demolished his brother in a 1 on 1 quidditch match and after that he let his broom rot in in his room for 11 months.

regardless of his training schedule he was still shit loads better than sirius and sirius knew it so when regulus joined the slytherin team he started waking up early to run and practicing every second day and nobody knew why because Gryffindor was by far the best team and everyone knew this.

the first quidditch game of the season was slytherin vs hufflepuff and slytherin won that game 180-0, the next morning and all morning after that the whole team was running with sirius and griffendor still lost their first game in 3 years 350-260 that night sirius and james got drunk, james cried because he thought he wouldn't be captain now and sirius sobbed because he missed his brother.
