auriala is a world-in-between-worlds, with many different fantasy beings belonging to it. the world is beautiful yet dangerous, and there is oftentimes chaos thanks to many, many power grabs.

ˏ⸉ˋ‿̩͙‿̩̩̥͙̽‿̩͙what exactly is auriala? ‿̩̥̩‿̩̩̥͙̽‿̩͙ˊ⸊ˎ

auriala is a middle ground between many different worlds. it doesn't have too many inhabitants belonging to it, but there are different beings taken from these other worlds and brought to there instead.

they can be anything from witches and seraphims, to even gods and 'humans-but-not-quite'. however, one thing is alike with each and every being there; whatever powers they have are taken from them there. they are rendered to a state more similar to humans.

the beings there are stuck in a sort of state of in between, with half of their consciousness stuck in auriala, and the other half in their actual home. complicated? yes. annoying? definitely.

the afterlife is a somewhat complicated thing there. of course, you can die there, and while you won't die in the other place too, you are stuck in the afterlife.

but there is a flower field. and in that flower field, it's possible to access the afterlife, and possibly get them out.

(or, the short answer is that death isn't permanent. as long as you have friends.)

Who are they?

they're really funny and get in a lot of drama :) found family with 2 having major unresolved crushes on each other, one dude being married to someone completely outside the plot (and also an URBAN LEGEND??? WHO JUST. DOES NOT TALK ABOUT IT), one being a mad scientist, and the other two being so codependent that they probably have never fought once. literally the worst people you could choose to a) survive a massacre and b) try to rescue everyone else.

[of note is that Nokoto has a smattering of green scales, Flower hides her horns in her hair and has pure white vitiligo, and Pawtree has fur all over. alas, we're limited by what we can find on picrew and the like]

Consisting of Shugana, Flower, Pawtree and Nokoto.

Who are they?

Nokoto and Shuganaga had dorms across the hall from each other and bonded hardcore during the death game. Flower is Shuganaga's dead childhood friend who literally haunts them and became visible towards the end of the game. Pawtree just tagged along in order to get away from the surviving humans (allergies) when the other nerds were trying a way out together. also Nokoto (part naga) will swallow raw eggs when lazy, Shuganaga (gnome) will eat raw potatoes like apples occasionally, and Pawtree (tabaxi) likes the occasional raw meat.
