hello, i made this blog (ran by @les-bi-ans) because one of my favorite lesbian flags is the dubbed "aurora" variant by now-deactivated account ferretwlw (post archive link), and after its peak popularity from earlier in the decade was over, it's now a little underrated in my opinion!

i love it because i have a preference for cooler colors across the wheel, and i believe there is some unintentional symbolism that hasn't been pointed out before; the deep blue & purple stripes at the top resemble violets that lesbians & sapphics have historically been known to give one another as a representation of love between women, and the pastel pink/white/blue stripes below closely imitate those of the default transgender flag - this is relevant to the emphasis on the inclusivity of the label because variety in gender identity is so inseparable from the lesbian community. additionally, the top blue/purple/pink stripes resemble a vague bisexual palette of sorts, which to me highlights the m-spec individuals who are often erased from the lesbian community.

another thing i should freely point out is that it matches the violet lesbian flag by @disasterbisexual-moved and is just simply more red-tinted, so it's a second option i really like!
