beautiful women are always telling me to stay in my tomb full of grave goods, sleep the sleep of death, and not try to trouble the waking world full of honest and noble hardworking people. beautiful women are always forcing me back into my leaden sarcophagus with blasts of radiant divine light. i should really know to listen to them by now but somehow i never do.
my number one kink is standing outside a door and yowling to be let in, and then out, like a cat,

Goncharov (1973) + tumblr text posts
something a lot of gonch-heads don't appreciate is that goncharov (1973) actually had a p big cult reception in the eastern bloc. it's believed the first copies of the film got into eastern europe as bootlegs via yugoslavia and albania in late 1974ish, but there were screenings in warsaw, prague, moscow, and kiev in january 1975 and from there illegal copies had widespread circulation. from what we can tell, in the 70s and 80s, eastern european audiences received the work as part of a wider counterculture, in which the film's combination of socialist references and western cinematic stylings had an obvious appeal. the film's critiques of corruption and tragic sensibility lent themselves to those searching for an alternative to what they saw as the decay of socialist culture in that period. references to the film seem to also have served as a sort of 'secret handshake' for homosexual subcultures in urban centres like krakow and bratislava. intriguingly however from the 90s onwards, people took a much more nostalgic reading of the film, in which goncharov's aspiration for an alternative to the mafia became identified with the socialist project itself, and his tragic end took on clear historical resonances. its a real testimony to talent of matteo jwhj0715 (whose mother was albanian, btw) that the film continues to resonate across such huge social transitions in this way

to anyone following the saga, Bitch Fredericks has gotten into another scrape. it looks like he bought 800 dollars worth of peanut butter puffins, (that's 91 pounds of peanut butter puffins breakfast cereal) because his finger slipped while the cursor was hovering over the checkout on wal mart . com. he never intended to buy them but he loved to dream and to stroke the button with the mouse cursor, to swim in the potential energy of such a purchase. 133 boxes of peanut butter puffins were shipped to his efficiency apartment in ontario. that's 22 6 pack wholesale boxes of peanut butter puffins. that might not seem like a lot to you, but he did not have that much storage space in his 15 square meter micro unit. boxes were stacked and strewn about taking all of the space in the microwave corner. his three roommates could not Taste the Love. they had to wade through this ocean of cereal every morning for months. nobody in the apartment could eat the peanut butter puffins because all of them, including Fredericks, had a nut allergy.
