Hi guys, I've posted about my friends Rajaa (@rajaagaza) and Khaled (@khaled-gaza) before, but I'm making another post to raise awareness for their fundraising efforts. Rajaa and Khaled are a young married couple from Gaza, and they've been trying to raise the money necessary to evacuate into Egypt for months, with little success.
Rajaa makes it a point to message me as frequently as she can, and it is always the highlight of my day. I feel incredibly lucky to know her; she is a truly wonderful friend. It pains me, however, that I cannot do more to help her. As you can read in the messages above, she and her family are desperately in need of our help. Her 18 month old son Karam is suffering from extreme malnutrition and prolonged psychological distress. They desperately need to evacuate to Egypt when the border opens again, which could happen any day now.
I am turning to you for your assistance in raising the funds they need. Rajaa and Khaled have managed to raise $9,939 CAD so far. They need $20,000 CAD to be able to evacuate and survive once in Egypt. They're almost exactly halfway to their goal!
If you have the means, a donation of $5 CAD (equivalent to roughly $3.60 USD) would make a significant impact on their fundraising efforts. Rajaa and Khaled's goal is extremely achievable, but momentum has slowed down to almost a complete halt recently. They cannot afford for this to keep happening. Khaled's account has been deleted in the past, and his new account was recently shadowbanned. This is very detrimental to their campaign. I am begging you to help keep momentum going for them- to help them hold onto hope. This is their only lifeline.

Ten months have passed , hurt ,and were exhausting
Ten months in which we experienced all kinds of torment and suffering. We lost and are still losing.
Every additional day here in these circumstances is a sentence of more fear and deprivation. We do not really know when it is our turn to be the victim.

These are skin diseases that have spread in the camp. My little brother, who is 4 years old, cannot sleep because of the severe pain. He is in severe pain and is alone. crit role fandom is off the shits in ways I can't comprehend and I don't even have to be in the fandom to know this. every CR drama I have the displeasure of tangentially encountering is a labyrinthine web of bizarre allegations that seemingly have nothing behind them but stretch on forever. The cast has cultivated such an intensely parasocial connection with their fanbase that people act like they've had their house broken into and every piece of furniture removed like that scene in the fresh prince of bel air every time roy mustang or jaina proudmore or whoever the fuck is on that show does something with their character that rustles their jimmies. I saw fanart rolling in as the first episode of C3 was premiering for characters that had been revealed literal minutes ago - the kind of insane turnaround normally only seen from pokemon porn artists when a new female character drops. no one seems even the slightest bit perturbed by the fact that every epsisode is four hours long, that's just a normal amount of content to both watch on a weekly basis and get caught up on. I'm never sure if I'm horrified or in awe
