From a collection of songs that never got released. I sent it to Shara, my art mom from My Brightest Diamond, while we were both going through some major changes. She sang on it and sent it back to me. I was living in Rochester at the time, near the northern terminus of a north running river in a region transformed by glacial activity at the turnpoint of the last ice age: earth gorged and sculpted by miles of ice and running water. There are these formations of earth called ‘Hummocks’ which look like the land was full of bubbles and about to burst. I’d lost a friend that year and would walk among the hummocky land in rememberance of her - how we make marks in our way, at the end of things. This is track 5 from the record I named “Repetition”. Keep doing love in 2017. Keep your eyes on your work. Fill it with whatever love you’ve got and you’ll find that you’ve got more than you can manage. David
