That’s great! Mine were withering, but I brought them back to life. I love my little garden. That day was so much fun.

Of course, does this make you the Prince helping the Princess make her daring escape? Well it had better be before midnight, I’ll turn into a pumpkin after that.

They relax guard duty on Wednesdays, Fridays and the weekend, I’ve been told. Whenever you can get your climbing equipment.

It was! I count it as a miracle that mine aren’t dead, maybe I’ll make a gardener after all.

They’ve all had pretty big songs that still get quite a bit of airplay on the radios so I’m sure you have. They have those songs that you don’t know by name but then you hear it and know some of the words and dance along to it. Maybe you should come out to karaoke sometime when a few of us from here get together. We tend to sing a lot of those songs actually.

I’m sure that’s it. Well whenever you go out to karaoke again, I’d be happy to come along - I haven’t sung properly since Les Mis and karaoke is always fun.

Oh well a lot of hits from the period are from new wave artists. A-Ha, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Berlin, Duran Duran, Human League, The Petshop Boys. I’m sure if you heard their songs you might recognize one or two.

I see, I don’t recognise the band names that much but I’ve heard a lot of songs in passing. I’m sure I’d recognise one or two or something if I heard them back, that happens a lot.

Fawn honestly felt terrible calling Avi. It was so late, it was some sort of miracle that the lady wasn’t asleep. But fear had taken over Fawn’s sense of rationality and had her hardwired to find someone to keep the demons lurking in the shadows away. Plus, as much as it made Fawn embarrassed to admit it, she didn’t feel safe in her home without the alarm activated. Even with the tempest raging just outside her window, Fawn was itching to jump through that storm to make it to somewhere with light.

“You wouldn’t mind?” She checked once more, biting the corner of her thumb anxiously. “I’d stay on the couch and wouldn’t be too much trouble, if you’re ok with that… Thank you so much. I’ll be over in half an hour max.” Fawn felt around for her flashlight, and she honestly had never packed faster in her life. Spare underwear, pajamas, change of clothes, toothbrush. That’s it and she slipped into flip flops - because if her feet were gonna get wet anyway, might as well wear shoes that dried easily - and ran out the door.

Fawn had completely underestimated Mother Nature. It was worse than raining cats and dogs. It was freaking raining elephants. Even taking every ounce of cover she could, Fawn’s umbrella ended up blowing inside out, leaving her and her knapsack alone to brave the weather. The disgusting smell of wet subway was ignored in the face of the sheer relief it was to be somewhere where the world didn’t insist on drenching you. One last sprint out the subway, and Fawn landed on Avi’s porch strongly resembling a drowned puppy. Her clothes were soaked through, her hair limp and dripping, and she was sure her clothes inside the knapsack weren’t that much better off. When the door opened, she gave an apologetic smile, “At least you don’t have to worry about me using the shower…”

“Of course I don’t mind!” Avi insisted, her sleepy brain finally registering that it was Fawn that she was speaking to. She rarely minded about that sort of thing and she’d be less inclined to worry, especially given the storm that was going on outside and if Fawn’s power was off. Though she would have preferred not to have offered her the couch, it wasn’t as though Avi with her one bedroom apartment could really offer her anything else. She doubted that Fawn would really accept her offer of her own bed. “It’s fine, honestly,” she tried to be reassuring, as she hung up the phone and prepared for her unexpected house guest.

By the time Fawn had arrived, Avi had raided her linen closet for a spare pillow and blanket which she'd left on the couch and had the kettle on. She didn't mind rain so much, but when it was torrential and like that, then Avi had a problem. Raising her eyebrow at the weather, Avi swore under her breath. Had it ever gotten worse in all her almost five years in the city? Probably. But she was really concerned with the here and now and right now it was terrible. So therefore in her mind, it had never been worse and was probably the devil itself.

As opened her door to see Fawn modelling what only could be described as the 'drowned rat' look, Avi's face was nothing but sympathetic. She let out a little laugh at the other woman's words, "Well it's still free for you if you want to use it," she said, offering the brunette a towel that she'd also pulled out of her linen closet beforehand. "I've also got the kettle on, so if you want a cup of tea or something that's there for you," The blonde pulled a bit of a face "I only have green tea though, I hope that's okay?" Probably because that was the only type that she drank regularly.

I don’t blame you, I would be doing the same thing. I just watched that movie a few days ago! Sarah Jessica Parker in that movie is who I aspire to be. i heard a second movie is going to be made, I wonder if that’s true.

She’s hilarious, I love that movie to death. Is it really? I hope so, I would kill though not literally for a part in that.

I bet, walking around the park all day would definitely be tiring. Things are going well. Halloween themed is always fun. I’ve been dancing to spooky songs!

Yeah I’m selfish and I dive for the seats as soon as I’m on a break, though I suppose it’s not as bad as those in retail. Oh that must be fun, my mind immediately jumped to Hocus Pocus. But that movie is always a good thing.

Yeah, but then again, everyone has different pain thresholds. I got chamomille this time. It’s cute and little. All of my tattoos are really little.

I love it there as a customer but if I had to deal with those perky people on a regular basis I’d lose it. I could recommend a couple of puppy instagrams to you if you’d like.

Well it’s four years in and I haven’t lost my mind yet so here’s hoping nothing happens. Oh thank you, it’ll help me get through the work day! I already have one with a corgi and one with a terrier. But you know, the more dogs the better.

Saying busy is good, have you gotten some rest, though? I’ve been well. I’ve been working a lot.

I have, it’s just one of the side-effects of work I think. Well I hope things are going good at your work!

Bit of everything, depends on my mood.

Disneyland….that’s a very people oriented job. How do you handle it? What do you do there?

Yeah, not a dog-orientated one sadly. Well with lots of smiling, trying to make sure people have a good day even when you’re having a terrible one and pictures of puppies on my phone.

Well that’s good, yeah young - I tried to think about whether or not I was like that at that age. But I still wouldn’t know what flirting was even if it hit me in the face, so probably not.
