I have a couple questions about the fae: first, why is it dangerous to give your real name to the fae? You said there's power in a name, but what is it? Also do you have any idea what kind of "favours" you would end up owing a faery if you were to thank them? Thanks!

a true name is a verbal manifestation of a being. to have this name is to have complete control over a being.the issue with owing a favor is it could literally be anything. you may end up owing a faery your first child or maybe just feeding them dinner. the danger is in the unknown.

Hey, so I saw your post on interactions with faeries, and I was just curious, but what if someone were to become romantically involved with a Fae? I've never heard of it before but I just thought about it, and surely it's happened.

hahahah this is a great question i love it. 

first and foremost, folk feel emotions differently than humans. it tends to be an all or nothing sort of thing. that’s partially why there’s the reputation of being quick to anger. honestly, when a faery gets interested in a human, there can be a heavy stalker vibe about it. 

now, i’m about to be very general, so if there’s more specific questions, don’t hesitate to come ask. generally speaking, romance =/= sex. many courts are very sexually open and do not see monogamy the same as humans. it’s probably unrealistic to expect sexual monogamy to be a given and if that’s important to you, you should be very clear with them about it.

as for interactions, from what i’ve seen, many fae are more lenient with humans they’re fond of. they’ll turn slips into teases. for example, if a thank you were to be given, they’d teasingly demand a kiss or somesuch.

but other than that, it’d be much the same as dating a human. just.. not in the physical realm.

What do you study could you tell me about the things you do like astral travel and meeting faeries?? What are they? Is there anywhere where I could read about what you study?

honestly, as far as studying goes, mostly what i’ve learned is via trial and error. i have yet to find a source that matches my personal experiences.

astral travel is essentially using the non-corporeal body/spirit/soul to travel to spirit realms and in between places. most people find it easiest to do this while sleeping. personally, i am pretty much in a constant state of coexistence but it’s taken me many years of practice to be able to maintain it.

i use faery as a sort of catch-all term for any non-human unless the being has a different term assigned to them. many beings encountered in the spirit realms don’t have a name humans have given them and it’s easier to just call them fae than try to name them. i kind of just consider all non-humans to be some type of fae, it’s just that some have names that humans associate with them and don’t.

i’m absolutely happy to discuss things like astral travel and interactions with various fae in more detail, but it’d be really helpful if you asked more specific questions. otherwise i don’t really know where to begin.

Hello~ I have been doing research on paganism specifically animism for a while. But I am still both young and new to it. Do you have any tips or sudgestions?

let’s see… i don’t know much about animism outside of norse beserkers. i think there best thing you can do is be thorough. there are many cultures with various types of animism and the more you can learn about the various types, the more you can learn about their similarities. my biggest thing about anyone new to paganism is to research research research. the more you research, the more you understand. the more you understand, the better you know what suits you and what you’re comfortable with.
