One last thing (hopefully) from my Top Gun rewatch - Mav has so many people in his corner after Goose dies and he doesn’t even realize it and it’s so fucking sad. Viper belives in him. Ice apologizes. Wolf calls Charlie. Charlie catches up to him in the airport to give him a pep talk. Chip and Sunny wonder where he is at graduation.

(Also the way Ice smiles when he sees him, and Slider’s little "Thanks, Mav." Like these people are In His Corner)

And he doesn’t see it, he doesn’t realize it, he probably doesn’t even fucking want it in that moment.
