Hello! My name is Selene. I’m a dyslexic fantasy author who loves symphonic metal, and has been vividly hallucinating about possibly imaginary people since age 8. I write stories about overpowered, morally gray, mostly queer loons who curse like sailors. My heroes are NOT ‘alpha’ males, and my heroines are badasses. If you want to interact with me somewhere else, check out my Facebook Page, where I post book excerpts and funny memes. If you subscribe to my NEWSLETTER, I promise to only bug you once in a blue moon. I'm also on Instagram and TikTok.
These are my current series/books:
THE CURSED AND THE FALLEN
Completed-ish series. The main arc is closed and there are no cliffhangers at the end of book three, but there are more stories to tell. Multiple POV, first-person present, and close third-person present.
DEMON WARDEN, book 1:
Demons are a girl's best friend... or worst nightmare. Some try to steal your soul, and others drive you nuts with their aloof, acerbic ways. I would know, I have a demon warden. My name is Dinah, and I am a weirdo of supernatural proportions. This is the story of how I almost lost my soul and was saved by a sexy—ahem, infuriating demon prince.

THE HALFBLOOD REBELS
Yes, I turned halfblood into a single word because it looks prettier hehe.
Ongoing series. Multiple/dual POV: first person past in book one, and close third person past in book 2. A lot of dark themes, and firmly anti “alpha”.
HALFBLOOD BETRAYED, book 1:
Can a wounded, amnesiac half-werewolf trust a powerful vampire, or will he betray her?
Werewolf-fey hybrid Aylana loses her memory after a near-fatal attack. Her savior? Sebastian. A mysterious vampire with hypnotic eyes and unending sarcasm. Aylana suspects Sebastian is hiding something from her. But if she wants to stay alive, she has no other option than to trust him.
Sebastian knows that the flames of his previous enmity with Aylana will become an inferno when the feisty halfblood regains her memory. She'll probably try to kill him again. But he'll take his chances.
When their tumultuous past returns to haunt them, will they become sworn enemies again, or something else?

MOORED TO YOU.
Standalone. Multiple POVs. First-person present, close third-person present. Slow burn but eventually VERY high heat. My most explicit sex scenes so far, actually. SO MANY content warnings.
Synopsis:
Be careful whose coat you pick up...
When Niahm, the beautiful stranger who saved her from danger, drops his cloak to the floor, Leo battles her anxiety and picks it up for him.
She doesn’t know Niahm’s cloak is actually his Selkie skin, and that her act of kindness is a marriage proposal of sorts.
Niahm doesn’t hesitate to pop the question, turning Leo’s world upside down. She is not ready for commitment. Her broken heart can't take another blow. Still, Leo can't deny her connection to Niahm is magical. Literally.
Will Leo be able to let go of her past and give into Niahm's charm? Or is their future star-crossed?
Fire and ice sizzle to steam...
Morgan is Leo's best friend/fierce protector. And she will make damn sure Niahm doesn't hurt Leo. This makes her collide with Gwyn, Niahm's sister—a beautiful, icy female who infuriates her. After an epic row, Morgan and Gwyn settle on a truce that becomes much more. They burn and melt each other's barriers with every fiery kiss. But when Morgan's darkest secret is revealed, will her relationship with Gwyn survive or sink?
Whoever came up with "all dialogue tags aside from said are cringe and unnecessary" and "don't describe your characters or settings, let people imagine them" is a dumbass bore. If you don't describe your characters I see nothing but a gray blob and can't connect with the story. Hissed or growled are not cringe ffs. Have you never hissed at someone while arguing??? What gods-damned planet are you from. Ugh!
Women can write m/m. Men can write f/f. Asexuals can write filthy smut. Lesbians and gay men can write m/f. It's all arbitrary anyway. Who give a shit.
"Oh but they don't have an experience of-" I don't have any experience committing or solving murders either but that's still mostly what I read and write about.
there are actually TWO countries that have used nuclear weapons in war. the second is france, which did “strategic nuclear testing” in algeria during and after the algerian war of independence.
No cause I’m bringing this shit back cus this shit gets no fucking coverage by anyone anywhere and it pisses me off
How do you actually test NUCLEAR WEAPONS in a country with population and people and get away with it
Wanna know a silly fun fact??? The sands are still affected, the regions are still contaminated and there’s so many places the radiation still affects, crops can’t be grown or else they’d be a literal radioactive plant, babies and people are born deformed because of the radiation in the area
And France never got held accountable for this bullshit, my country is suffering long term and nobody talks about it
Man fuck this shit, France should not get away with this
I hate it because it is often used as a way to (physically) weaken and punish female characters in a way that is so true to life and the way pregnancy is often used to control women in our world, instead of touching on the way it melds into real world oppression and reproductive coercion, it is more like “What if you were pregnant but it wasn’t a cute little baby that you’re going to love, what if it was The Creature?” A cis man, a demographic of person who should not be able to get pregnant being pregnant empathizes the sheer horror, loss of agency, desperation, confusion and possible shame/embarrassment of an unwanted and unplanned pregnancy. AND having the subject be a person who should not be able to be pregnant raises interesting implications about the physical toll on the body and the very real possibility of death. These are things women are expected to face bravely and without complaint, they’re expected to prioritize and love the parasite invading their body without their consent. And hey, maybe if it was the other way around, it could help a few cis men watching gain some perspective on the topic.
in grade 12 we were reading romeo and juliet and we were at the romantic-ass balcony scene and this hot girl in the class volunteered to read juliet’s parts and i put up my hand to volunteer for another part and the teacher goes ‘oh do you want to be the nurse, amanda?’ and i was like ‘no i wanna be romeo’ and the hot girl swiveled around in her seat to give me a Look™
she and i later ended up making out at a bunch of parties in university lmfao
I too got a girlfriend over this play. In grade 10, I was reading the balcony scene to study with two other people (one guy and one beautiful girl) and I insisted point blank I had to read as romeo, because he had the most lines and I’m a dramatic little shit.
So the other two in my group are used to my antics by now. We’re all friends, so the pair of them decide that the one guy in our group gets to be the nurse. Now, my Juliet and I have been friends for a couple months by this point, so I decide to be a little more dramatic.
We put Juliet on a spinny chair, and pump it up as tall as it goes, and my baby, closeted lesbian ass crouches on the floor, ready to be as melodramatic as possible. Like, I’m about to do a rendition that makes William himself walk into the class and tell me to take it back a notch or twelve.
And then I look up.
And holy shit.
There she is, Juliet, haloed in the worst fluorescent light known to mortals across the globe. Light just streaming down around her, that weird off-green colour that it always is. And she’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. My little gay soul is barely holding on as the words barely leave my lips, breathlessly. “But soft… what light from yonder window breaks?”
And Juliet was the sun. Romeo was not exaggerating that line at all.
Juliet and I have also been together for more than 4 years now. She’s every bit as spectacular as she was when I was a lovestruck teenage Romeo, kneeling on the yellowed linoleum floor of second block english.
the evil amulet is a classic but have we considered The Good Amulet . villain who switches sides because they put on The Amulet That Makes You Good and fell too deeply under its spell to ever take it back off and the heroes are trying to figure out how they feel about that ethics-wise
And then it turns out the amulets had no power at all. The villain just wanted an excuse to do good deeds. And the hero who's turned evil is simply letting out all the ugly bits he kept buried, while safely hiding behind the facade of the "evil" amulet that stole his free will.
Tech Bros are also "reinventing" women. Building robots with AI that poorly simulate women so they can abuse them. They even created a rape mode for some of these bots. Men can't create life, but they can surely corrupt it.
the place I work at remodeled these split gendered restrooms into “inclusive restrooms” and never told us what they meant while construction was ongoing. I need you to know every atom of potential criticism or whining that could’ve happened disappeared when people found out this meant we got 10 fully separate private bathrooms with sinks inside. I’ve not heard a single person crack a joke about the inclusive signage. this is the world TERFs are trying to steal from you
This is called a "superloo" and terfs are actively trying to steal this from you, in the UK they changed bathroom regulations to mean new buildings have to prioritise gendered toilets rather than build superloos.
This also upset a lot of architects and designers who like the superloos. They're also typically more like small rooms rather than having doors you can look under.
