about me/my blog

01. my special interests are genshin impact, arknights: endfield, wuthering waves, minecraft, disability theory, and abnormal psychology (with a focus on personality and dissociative disorders); and my other hobbies include writing, reading, scrapbooking, and journaling. feel free to talk to me about these!

02. i have a number of physical and mental disabilities that affect how i move through the world & interact with others. these include, but are not limited to, hypermobile ehler's danlos syndrome, hyperadrenergic POTS, long covid, level 1 autism, ADHD, personality disorders, DID, && others. i consider myself low-medium support needs.

03. i do my best to make sure my blog is a safe space for systems and plurals of all origins, all queer experiences and identities, people with stigmatized conditions, and those under the alterhuman umbrella.

04. i am plural in a way that is very messy, confusing, complicated, and difficult to pin down. we use i/me and we/us at different times and sometimes interchangeably, but we usually do our best to clarify when it is one specific member speaking. we use a lot of different terms and different members will have different preferences, but the term "member" is always okay with everyone so use that if unsure.

hi i'm a queer person in the middle of transitioning, moving from the southern u.s. to minnesota after getting accepted into a pre-nursing program up there

we were already planning to move when our housing ends in october, but the acceptance bumped that up to august, so now we have 61 days to make a 1,150-mile move happen

i work paycheck to paycheck and keeping a job when i look the way i do is a challenge. i've been fired and forced out of school here due to discrimination. minnesota is safety and a real shot forward for me. if we don’t secure housing in either case we face homelessness

Further context: Durham city council (Reform UK) cut funding and support for Pride. The Durham Miner's Association and other trade unions raised enough money for Durham Pride 2026 to go ahead - a direct call back to when Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) raised money for mining communities when Margaret Thatcher seized union funding during the miner strikes of 1984-85.

At the 1985 Labour party meet, the motion to support LGBT rights as a party was passed due to a block vote from mining unions.

Stephen Guy, the chair of the Durham Miners’ Association, said that when it became apparent Durham Pride was under threat, he took it upon himself to “encourage the trade union movement to step up and do the right thing, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT+ community […] They not only raised funds for us, but came to our communities, uplifted our spirits when they were down, and showed their solidarity.”
