it’s sad that when net neutrality happened, there were even warnings from tumblr staff
and now that europe is in danger, no one talks about it. it’s complete silence.
Here’s the link to the petition, if you’re not coward anymore to support us. We’re so far away from 1M, and the times flies too fast.
This seems like something everyone should know if they’re in the sciences and/or interested in reading scientific papers.
Also, many academic articles are available on http://sci-hub.tw. If you enter the DOI or the URL of the article on the publisher’s page, it will usually take you right to a PDF.
people will also upload their own publications on researchgate.net pretty regularly. you might need to register to get access but it’s free and as far as I know you don’t need an academic/industry email. It also has a “request full text” option that will send the authors a request if they have an account but haven’t added something.
I am forever not getting over how:
This precious bird
Also voiced this character
And

And the fact that the voice actor, Hosoya Yoshimasa, is one of the most precious and adorable human I’ve ever seen.
I hope that when the next yoi seiyuu event happens (I’m saying “when” not “if” because yoi’s gonna have like at least one more seiyuu event because a) it’s a large franchise, and b) it has a movie in the works) Hosoya will be there because western yoi fans deserve to learn how sweet and awkward of a person Otabek’s VA truly is.

HUSBAND: WHAT ARE YOU DOING
ME: ...eating a cookie?
HUSBAND: You dropped that on the floor. I SAW YOU.
ME: Five-second rule.
HUSBAND: [horrified noises]
HUSBAND: What if I touched your boob for five seconds, because 'five-second rule'? Would you be okay with that???
ME:
ME: It's a little weird, but sure.
HUSBAND:
HUSBAND: Just. Don't eat that cookie.

"long way down"
I think this might be a fic about an older Viktor and Yuuri, in their sixties with grown children, realizing that they haven’t been focusing on their relationship as much as they should have? It wouldn’t necessarily be a sad fic, but it would involve Yuuri and Viktor relearning each other, recognizing the fact that they’re different people from who they were when they were just married. Realizing that children and thirty+ years of marriage necessitate some changes within themselves and their relationship.
Maybe there’s a scene where Viktor and Yuuri are driving home from visiting one of the kids, and they get into an argument over something silly that suddenly becomes about everything.
And maybe there’s a scene where Yuuri crawls into bed and kisses Viktor’s neck and Viktor, who’s genuinely just tired, tells him that he isn’t in the mood and Yuuri rolls over, trying not to feel rejected.
“We haven’t had sex in two months,” Yuuri tells him, after a moment. “And it was our anniversary.”
Viktor is silent for a moment, then says, “I hadn’t realized.”
They go to sleep like that, with Yuuri’s back facing Viktor, and in the morning he sits down with his coffee across from Viktor, who’s frowning at something on his tablet, and says, “I need to ask you something, and I want you to be honest with me.”
“Hmm?” Viktor asks, and then puts down his tablet because he realizes that Yuuri is being very serious.
“Have you…” Yuuri takes a deep breath, tries not to let his voice wobble. “Have you…fallen out of love with me?”
“Of course not,” Viktor says, and the vehemence and speed with which he responds is reassuring. “Of course not. I love you with all my heart. I always will.”
“But are you in love with me?” Yuuri asks. “I feel like we’re…taking each other for granted. Like maybe we…don’t know each other so well anymore. And it’s scaring me.”
Eventually, Viktor comes up with an idea–they will retrace the steps of their first year together. They will go to Hasetsu, and stay in the onsen, and take baths together. But they’ll sleep in separate rooms, and relearn each other from the ground up.
They’ll go to China, and eat hotpot, and kiss on the balcony of their hotel room, but nothing more–just like that first time, when their touches were unfamiliar and tentative but new and exciting.
They’ll go to Moscow, where Viktor will made reservations at the restaurant he had reservations at before Makkachin got sick all those years ago–and they’ll actually go this time, and Viktor will feed Yuuri pilmeni and Yuuri will eat it right off his fork.
Then, finally, in Barcelona–they will stand in front of the Cathedral de Barcelona and Viktor, even though his knees are bad and he knows he might not be able to get up again without help, gets down on one knee and asks Yuuri to marry him again.
And they go back to the hotel, and make love, and Yuuri knows that he’s fallen for this man again, and that he’ll probably keep falling for the rest of his life.
It’s a long way down, but the landing is soft.
