Just wanted to share... My little cousin was on the X-Factor yesterday! Even Britney came out of her ostensibly medicated stupor to say she loved her. Woot!

I'm still alive! :) Just been living life instead of blogging. More on that later...
But I had to come back to post this fuckery, which I just caught on TV while watching the last of the Crossfit Games on cable.
So glad I don't spend money on Crossfit any more --HQ has turned the whole thing into fitspo cheese with borderline porno angles. Yay, complex lifts are just so I can go up a couple points in the hotness scale. So glad to know!
They could have just left the "Strength=beauty" part (AWESOME MESSAGE), used a few different angles to shoot, and left out the part about "sevens." But then, I guess that wouldn't jibe with HQ's attempts at a racy new image to go with that Reebok money.
I found a huge bag of Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flour in my pantry, and I have a bunch of overripe bananas in my freezer, so I decided to experiment and make a banana bread recipe from Clean Eating mag, subbing the GF flour for regular flour, 1:1. I added 3/4 tsp xantham gum per cup of GF flour as the bag suggested, but the end result still turned out very dense and baked somewhat unevenly. Anyone worked with this flour mix before, and if so, any tips? The taste is fine, but the texture is definitely identifiably gluten-free (i.e., spongey without a nice rise). It's still good with natural peanut butter, though.
Dinner, because my sashimi meter was running dangerously low
This diner served me a straight-up tray of Cobb salad.
Another busy day of writing deadlines, another no-effort stir-fry dinner (protein TBD).
Logging today's workout... leg day and a short run
For once, it didn't rain in the evening, and it was actually a decent enough temperature to run without dying. FINALLY -- signs Florida summer is ENDING.
I just finished a huge work project so I gave myself a half hour to putter around. I decided to try a recipe in one of the Eat Clean Diet books for a green smoothie involving kale, parsley, fresh pineapple, ginger, wheatgrass (which I skipped because I don't have any), lime, avocado, almond milk, and protein powder.
You're supposed to juice the leafy stuff and fruit and then blend it with the rest afterwards. I don't have a juicer so I just went the food processor/blender route and it was super labor intensive. The end result tastes like grass.... Virtuous grass, but still grass. I guess I'll attempt this again one day if I ever get an actual juicer.
Extra workout today: peeling/chopping a fresh pineapple.
I'm actually ashamed I kind of found that tiring. Haha.
a list of things bulimia will not do for you:
make you skinny
make you pretty
make you happy
make you popular
Oh god reblogging because seriously, anyone who thinks bulimia is a great/easy diet plan or even a way to necessarily lose weight: hahahahaha
Just random breakfast porn. :)
I'm really enjoying circuit workouts instead of straight cardio right now.
Dinner: a bone-in ribeye (about 4 or 5 oz of actual edible meat once you trim it), cooked sous vide then seared really quick; half a baked sweet potato with cinnamon; and (overly, oops) roasted broccoli with sesame oil
Logging today's workout... upper body.
Meh, average-to-fair session today. (Typing that reminds me of the hippie-dippie private elementary school I went to where, for first through third grades, we got graded only as "Outstanding," "Excellent," "Positive," or "Needs Improvement," and the grades were on things like "sharing with others.")
My awesome gym decided to close for renovations for a week, apparently (yay), so I'm stuck lifting at home in the garage, i.e. a dark cave that could double as a steam room since SURPRISE, it's raining again today.
Still no cardio which I'm actually okay with right now since my appetite levels out anyways.
Log after the jump.
Totally unrelated to anything but I think the main reason I keep Facebook is to monitor the incredible delusions of my extended social circle.
I just logged in to find a long status update soliloquy from someone about gazing up that moment at the New York City skyline today and reflecting, etc., etc., insert borderline grammatically incorrect deep thought here.
Only problem is, the person left Facebook's geolocation on.... And the update was posted from a neighborhood in the Miami suburbs. LOL.
