My father died this morning

I didn't know how to make this post or whether to make it or not, but I think it's the best to let it all out. It was a heart attack, there was nothing we could do. Mom and I took care of everything for the moment.

We will cremate him tomorrow. It still feels like a horrible dream.

Well, you see… I do have a… physical presence in the form of a body, so… technically speaking I do share a pretty decent amount of… attributes with the general population so… *gestures vaguely* Who was even this presence speaking to him? He couldn’t recognize it as an angel, but then again their work had diversified and he hadn’t been in contact with them since the apocalypse.

Now, sir, I do resent the implication! I have conducted myself in a holy way most of my life and pride myself on the idea that I am not a monster in any sense of the word.

Then again, he wasn’t exactly human, and the apocalypses had brought a different perspective to his own definition of holy, but he wasn’t a monster… right?

A shiver runs down his spine and he feels he has made a mistake.

But... but aren’t monsters supposedly bad? He thinks before he can stop himself and the almost hits his forehead while shaking his head. Wasn’t that exactly the same thing said about demons, and didn’t he know very well there was at least one exception?

I apologize if I have offended you, but from where I come from, the term is only used with a negative connotation.
