@b3zilla
the scene where thanos kills gamora is literally one of the most disgusting things ive ever seen in a movie. like how dare you show me an abusive person killing the woman he’s been abusing for years and frame it like i should feel sympathetic to HIM? fuck off
and then the NERVE of having the in-universe validation of getting the soul stone afterwards? throw the whole movie out
Yes, this, exactly this.
The fucking movie takes an abuse victim’s words (and i want to make that clear here gamorra is a victim who was killed by her abuser) of “this isn’t love” right before he kills her and then says “you’re wrong, he does love you” and gave him the soul stone.
Like that is 100% validating the abuser’s worldview and an attempt to make the abuser seem sympathetic because “look he really did love her” and hollywood has such a fucking problem with that.
And the narrative was 100% endorsing the abuser. Because it rewarded the abuser for killing the person he abused and said “that was love.”
Fuck that shit.
Abuse isn’t love. Abuse isn’t love. Abuse is not and cannot be love and anyone who says otherwise is siding with the abuser.
Abuse isn’t love.
Abuse aside, I always felt that scene just shouldn’t have worked. It doesn’t make sense that it worked.
Having to murder someone you love to obtain power is a bit of an impossible situation? For you to truly love them you wouldn’t be able to kill them? The fact Thanos could murder Gamora so easily means he can’t possibly love her as much as the trial request?
It’s because that’s just abuse. You can’t separate the killing from abuse here because the killing is just an extension of the abuse.
before he even knocked on mj’s door, my boi peter parker firstly took care of himself. LOOK AT HIM.
he’s lost weight he’d gained during his bad days. he combed his hair. he’s got a clean suit. he’s got flowers. he’s about to smile. he’s nervous, but ready to face the love of his life.
he probably also tidied up his apartment, organized his documents and desktop, did his laundry, cut his hair, started shaving regularly, and only then he faced mj.
remember to take care of yourself first, people. everything comes from within and starts with you.
This detail makes me so happy, because he doesn’t want to be pitied. He wants to prove to MJ that he’s ready to be back in her life and that he’s ready to be a dad so he gets off his butt and stops wallowing in his own sadness and takes care of himself. And all it took was for Miles to remind him what it means to be Spider-Man, and to put him in a situation where he has to be better than he has been recently. It fills him with the confidence he needs to take the next step in his life no matter how afraid he is.
As much as Peter was able to teach Miles, he learned just as much from him at the same time. It’s a beautifully crafted arch that the both of them go through and it’s the best way to have Peter in a Miles story, without stealing the show.
God I love this movie.
See this is what “you have to love yourself before you can love someone else” means. It doesn’t mean that people with no self-esteem don’t deserve love. It means that you can’t be dependent on your partner to take care of you, because that isn’t fair to them. They didn’t sign up to be your mother. Peter B couldn’t have gotten MJ back in the wallowing state he was in before he met Miles because he wasn’t ready to build a life with her yet.
There are n*zis on campus rn and a student brought out like a 1997 boombox and started blasting Taking The Hobbits to Isengard every time they tried to say something.
“Those who do not share our genes -THE HOBBITS THE HOBBITS THE HOBBITS THE HOBBITS - THE MASTER RACE - TO ISENGARD TO ISENGARD - AND I BELIEVE - THE HOBBITS THE HOBBITS THE-”
Chaotic good
In Jewish tradition, one of our holidays is called Purim. It celebrates the defeat of an antisemitic political advisor to a king who liked to prowl the streets ranting his hatred. Part of the story of Purim involves the people being ranted at inventing a special kind of noisemaker to drown him out. Basically what I’m saying is this student is following a grand tradition whether they realize it or not and they should be proud.
not only is Purim about drowning out fascists, it’s about doing so in the most absurd and embarrassing ways possible! fascism thrives on an aura of invincibility, and it’s hard to hold onto that when people keep making farting sounds every time you open your mouth
so really, weaponized memes are PERFECTLY in keeping with the Purim spirit
*slams fist on table* NOW THIS is the kind of religious/cultural tradition I can get behind!
my 4-year-old niece is in that “splattering colors all over the paper” stage of making art. i showed her a piece by Jackson Pollock and told her “this person is really famous, and he made art kind of like you!” but she just looked disinterested and told me “mine has prettier colors.” get wrecked, Jackson Pollock
this is the worst fucking idea i’ve ever seen
Imagine you go. To someone’s house. And you go to hang up your coat and see these

(Also, apparently, he had to rent that costume and that just makes this 150% better).
@fan-art-ic Oh good Lord
WHEN WILL PEOPLE FUCKING REALIZE THAT
MEN
ALSO
ARE
GIVEN
UNREALISTIC
EXPECTATIONS
DO YOU HAVE ANY FUCKING IDEA
HOW IMPOSSIBLE IT IS
TO LOOK LIKE THIS???
IT’S 100% FUCKING ILLOGICAL TO EXPECT MEN TO HAVE THIS RIPPED SIX-PACK ABS AND BE SKINNY AND HAVE PERFECT SKIN AND FACIAL COMPLEXION! MEN ALSO EXPERIENCE BEING UNCOMFORTABLE WITH OUR BODIES ALL. THE. FUCKING. TIME.
I’m bringing back the REAL post. For those of you who care enough about how body image issues effect BOTH MEN AND WOMEN and how ignoring men with eating disorders or who have depression or deep insecurities because of their body image is not just ignorant, but it’s horribly insulting. Making fun of this post means you are telling men who feel degraded that they should feel bad about themselves and that they don’t mean anything. For everyone who reblogged the posts that made fun of this original post, shame on you. I’m very disappointed. Please share the original because this is an important issue.
Also raised to my attention is I neglected to add people of color to this post, I am sorry for my negligence so I shall add bonus images here of unrealistic expectations for men of every race, I chose Men’s Health Magazine because it’s extremely popular in telling men how to look:
No, guys, you don’t understand. I just got so relieved seeing this original post again that I nearly cried.
Bless the blog that brought the original back!
Here’s the original post without some of you asshats changing the pictures
This is actually the VERY FIRST TIME I’ve seen the original post, which goes to show how quickly people turned it into a joke. I confess that I did laugh at some of the absurd replacement images in the other versions, and I feel guilty for that now because I, like many, was missing an extremely important message.
To all of my male followers who struggle with self-esteem: I support you too. Even though I’m really quiet and have a bad habit of going weeks or months without posting, I WILL be there for you if you come to me wanting to talk or just vent. That’s a promise.
Another thing to note that in all, ALL, of those pictures the men are actively flexing. And often such defenition for shoots is exaggerated by dehydration, airbrushing and photoshopping. That chiseled look isn’t a look you can acheive at rest without literal implants. Here are 2 examples of flexed vs relaxed:
And you know what? Dollars to doughnuts none of the above muscular looking guys are as strong as these men:
These are strongmen. These are the bodies of men that train for strength, not defenition. These guys can practically lift cars and drag trains.
So men of the world that get depressed about not looking like you just stepped off a magazine cover, relax. You don’t have to look like that. You are handsome, beautiful and fantastic the way you are.
To all my beautiful boys <3 Please read and heed. You’re amazing, and you don’t have to look any particular way. This goes for transboys too. You’re handsome no matter what!!!
This is so important!! Like my dad looks fat but he’s mostly super strong
its posts like this that make me wanna keep on living and still feel a little good about myself

Barnes and Nobles is gonna start serving food and alcohol.
Everybody’s cracking jokes about how it’s a desperate attempt to stay relevant in the age of Amazon.
But you know what? Props to them. This is exactly what Blockbuster didn’t do. At no point was Blockbuster like “Hey, movie rentals aren’t the lucrative enterprise they once were. Perhaps it’s time we become known for our cheesy garlic bread.”
that’s a fantastic plan, honestly? i would 100% go sit at a bookshop, buy a glass of wine, and pick up the newest biography. 50/50 i’d decide to buy it after a couple chapters, and even if i don’t, that’s still money i spent at B&N!
They could host book clubs with food and drinks where one of the employees shares their experiences with a book of their choice and tries to convince the guests to buy it.
Barnes and noble realizing the only reason people go to brick and mortar stores is for the experience and access to an enjoyable physical space they can socialize in (sure isnt for the price) and capitalizing on that is a stroke of genius and a really refreshing approach to the dilemma of competing with online stores

In case you’re wondering how smart rats can be, and if Ratatouille is real, then allow me to share this story: I once had two rats, River and Chell, both rescued from a laboratory as babies. Chell was whip-smart and liked to ride around on my shoulders as I walked around the apartment. She would recognize places she wanted to go, such as her cage or the sofa, and I would raise my arm up to let her run across to her objective. She quickly cottoned on to this and, in an entirely self-taught behavior, would run to one of my shoulders or another and tug on my sleeve, to signal me to raise my arm in the direction she wanted. In this manner she was able to steer me around the apartment and would frequently use me as a taxi instead of walking herself. She then taught her sister how to do it too.
