I don’t think bombing civilians in war torn countries is an unfortunate necessity like it literally doesn’t have to happen and I don’t understand how people can be so indifferent about it if their team is doing it....you know 90% of the victims of Obama’s air strikes were civilians. And civilian means woman, girl, or male child under fighting age. Adult men weren’t counted towards civilian death tolls. So the actual civilian death toll is closer to 100%. Our military is literally a terrorist organization and nobody cares as long as the president is a decent orator. All of those people are just as real as you are. A million innocent people have died as a result of the Iraq war both directly and indirectly and only a handful of us seem to lose any sleep over the fact that this terrorism is done in our names witn our money. People talk about them like they’re cockroaches. It makes me sick to my stomach
Reminder: Obama has admitted that he kept drone bombing because he didn’t want the Republicans to call him “soft on terror”. That was all; there was no strategic case for it. (In fact, the CIA — which started the drone bombing program in the first place — issued a study showing that drone bombing was counterproductive and recommending that it be discontinued.)
sometimes when i’m cooking i adjust the heat a little but for no discernible reason. just because it matches the vibes to do so
Medusa with the Head of Perseus, Luciano Garbati, 2008
I adore how she carries his head low, at her side, and not aloft in triumph. This is not a self-aggrandizing hero lauding her great deed. This is a woman who wanted to be left the fuck alone.
Also look at her body. The double hips. The asymetrical boobs. She’s thin, but she’s realistic as hell. That’s a real woman.
And the look in her eyes. Damn.
I originally saw photos of Garbati’s Medusa a long time ago, but I specifically remember this post from earlier this year. Medusa was one of those pieces that really buried into my head and heart. Sounds silly, but just looking at it gives me strength.
Today I was lucky enough to see it in person. She’s incredible. And, something that the original pictures don’t show— she’s HUGE!
Update: Luciano Garbati, the sculptor behind this brilliant piece, just announced that he received permission from the City of NY to temporarily install a 7-foot tall bronze version of Medusa for the public to enjoy!
She’s waiting in a warehouse for COVID to chill out before installation in the park across from the New York County Criminal Courthouse, which is where Harvey Weinstein was tried. Full announcement here.
I was born like this, don’t even gotta try
I will be 70 years old and I still will never have gotten over the time the Mythbusters used a rocket powered steel wall to - and I use this word as literally as possible - vaporize an entire car into red mist
https://youtu.be/Nl8xTqTUGCY
If you haven’t seen this episode of Mythbusters I feel so bad for you because “What car?” remains to this day as a defining moment of my adolescence and my entire life
That was a near-religious experience
I made a gif of it for those of you who cant watch the video in your country. Or if you know you just want to stare at it mesmerized like me

there are some dystopian ideas coming from the White House lately
I hope this post was something actually coherent bc all this hellsite would load was:
how many times will you redefine pansexuality after being called before you finally accept that it's okay to just call yourself bi
every time pansexuals are called out for being biphobic/transphobic/homophobic/etc they go "no no no that's not what pansexuality means, actually this is the real definition of pansexuality"
first it was "attraction to men, women and trans people" and when that was called out for transphobia they changed it to
"hearts not parts" which was also called out for transphobia on top of biphobia and homophobia so they quickly moved on to
"attraction regardless of gender unlike bisexuality where gender is a factor" and when that was called out for being biphobic and ahistorical they swapped it for
"attraction to personality not gender" and when people called that out for being offensive and condescending to literally everyone who's not pan they tried
"it's the same as bi but just a personal preference for a different label" and now that that has been called out for enabling internalised biphobia i'm really wondering what they will come up with next
like how many more of these convoluted excuses for distancing yourself from bisexuality can you possibly come up with before you'll finally be forced to face your internalised biphobia and learn to accept you're bisexual
