"Ne ne, you look kinda funny. Are you like an animal that's taken animal form?" she asked with the tilt of her head.
"Ha! You’re calling me funny. Take a look at yourself." Saru couldn’t help but chuckle at the girls blunt question. She had guts to come right out and ask such a thing. Lucky for her, she wasn’t in the least offended by it.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about girl."
Monkey Mishaps
Luffy finished eating without doing as much as chewing the fruits before swallowing. If he’d even noticed the distressed owner, the pirate was doing a great job ignoring the man. Luffy was, instead, watching the woman with an unreadable expression, studying her. He’d noticed something strange about her using his Haki, but he couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
Well, no need to worry, it probably wasn’t anything important anyway. His expression relaxed to a huge smile typical of a D when she answered him. "Eh, you are way weaker than you feel like, y’know?" was what he had to say about her near death experience. "I’m pretty strong, so I’ll be fine" he stated with a confident smile "And if something happens, my crew’ll help me."
That’s when he realized something important "Ah! But I don’t know where they are! Hey, Weak-hair Granny, do you know where my crew are?" he asked like it was extremely common to random people on the street to know where his crew was or who they are, for that matter. Like Luffy even care or think about that kind of stuff.
Weak.
Her face slowly turned, moving to stare the kid directly in the eye. "Did you call me weak?" Those were fighting words for Saru. She was not weak. She was strong, she was a beast, an animal and she did not take kindly to such an insult. The whole meaning of her life was to be strong. Her and Hebi were born from the spirit of Renji; someone equally as devoted to being strong. There was no weakness about them. Everything else around her had been completely tuned out and there was just him and her now. Her marrow hair became frizzier as if she were nothing more than an animal whose hair typically rose from their skin when threatened.
"Do you want to test out and see for yourself just how 'weak' I am?" She challenged with a look of pure frenzy. A smarter person would back down and dismiss such insulting words but in that thought lied the truth. Saru was not a person. She was a zanpakuto and she was born to fight. It didn't matter that she was out in the open, it didn't matter that humans weren't supposed to know about her. Her pride was on the line now and she would go to any length to defend it.
"Your crew couldn't save you no matter what. I suggest you rethink what you're getting into here." She marched up until she was right before him. "If anyone is weak here, it is, and will always be, you."
It's a Strange World
Kaien took a moment to get a good look at the woman before him. He could not accurately determine her roots, but it seemed to be that she grew came from an environment that was less disciplined. That would explain a few things, he supposed. “I was taught that as a child.” His mother had done her best to teach him some manners - the please and thank you’s, bowing to show respect, and remaining steadfast in his actions. But in the few moments he had with his sister, she had taught him about his manner of speech. Where actions would fail, words would suffice. In the Kardian military, words were taken into account before anything else.
"How does one speak, then, without formalities?" He grew up as no more than a peasant, but managed to learn how the nobles had talked. If casually speaking were akin to peasant speech, Kaien shivered at the thought. Peasant children had a fondness for slurring their words together and using entirely incorrect words.
Tilting her head back, Saru managed to drain every last drop of the bottle she held within her grasp. Drop after drop, she let them touch the tip of her tongue until nothing was left and she could squeeze the bottle tightly until it crunched together. With a now empty bottle, there was no further use of it so she tossed it over her shoulder. With no further distraction, she was finally ready to turn her attention back to him. "You've got to be kidding." The question he asked left her bewildered.
"It's really not that hard. The problem with you is that you're thinking too much about it. Just look at me. I'm telling you like it is no problem." She was gruff the entire time she spoke. This was how she always was and nothing was going to change that. Her shoulders were slumped and she was completely relaxed though she couldn't say the same for him. "Do you even know how to relax?"

"I do NOT have a big butt!!!! I'm honestly feeling so attacked right now."
"Why wouldn’t it be? It’s summer!”
"It's too damn hot and now I'm going to be stuck with Hebi all day."
Monkey Mishaps
Luffy was walking aimlessly around Bunkyo, with no idea of where he was or where he was going. In other words, he was completely lost. Not that he really cared, since practically every little thing sightly different from what he was used from the sea or from any of the islands he’d stop by were able to catch his attention. Until he saw something more interesting. Or until he got hungry. And that was the problem: he was hungry and had forgot to ask for one – or one dozen – of Sanji’s pirate lunch boxes before leaving the ship.
Luckyly, it didn’t take long for him to smell food and, following the scent, end up in what looked like a market area. With stands selling food and other things and food. He was finishing the free samples of one of these stands – the 3th or 4th he’d stopped by already – when something or rather someone riding something that looked like a Waver or the Kurosai FR-U IV passed right by him.
"How… AWESOME!"
He followed the stranger until she ran into another of the stands and if those fruits aren’t on the stand so they’re not for sale, right? Luffy proceeded to eat most of them, before turning to the rider, mouth full of fruits. “Ne, that looked like fun. Can I try too?”
Saru could hardly pay attention to the commotion around her. Sure there was the food stand guy who looked pretty upset and horrified, but she didn't show him any signs that she was actually listening. All that was running through her mind was how much her back hurt.
"Dammit." She gritted, arching her back only partially when she felt something poking right into her lower back. She ended up pulling out a pineapple that she had unfortunately fallen on.
Slowly, Saru had managed to sit up partially and then used a nearby pole to help her steady herself on her feat. She must have looked like an old granny with each slow movement. At the moment, she was just trying to get the feeling back in her legs when she noticed the strange kid stuffing his mouth. It didn't seem appropriate at all and the poor owner looked defeated.
"Do you have a death wish or something? I nearly got myself killed on the machine of death right there! Who on earth wants to ride something like that."
"It’s finally summer!"
"Like that's a good thing?"

Ulquiorra reached out his hand and side swiped the blade that was lunging towards him; his head tilted to the side, clearly not amused. His other hand raised and his index finger pointed with a green glowing Cero forming at his fingertip. “You are going to have to do a lot better than that.” He unleashed his Cero from his fingertip and unleashed his spiritual pressure from its concealment, giving his opponent but a taste of who she was up against.
With a flick of her wrist, her sword collected itself back together, no longer outstretched but this was in no way meaning she was over. She was fast, just like a baboon. Seeing his cero didn't even phase her as she dodged and raced around it. "Ha! I'm just getting warmed up."

Mun: I am so hoping my current mini-thread with Saru doesn’t scare anyone off from threading with Ulquiorra I swear we are both just having good fun xP…. I keep telling him to play nice, but he refuses >.<
I keep telling Saru to back down but she refuses. Stubborn donkeys!
Ulquiorra spun around and grabbed her arm with his hand and clutched down. With his free arm, he punched the girl in the chest, simultaneously letting go of her at the moment of impact. “Yes, just look at me.” His hand still outstretched from where he had hit her as he spoke. A faint smile grimaced his face.
"Oh it's on!" Her hand clutched at her chest as she was forced backwards. She did wince from the pain of the impact, but it also brought out a fierce wildness she had been suppressing. With no hesitation, her weapon was out in her hands and she came running at the man while letting her sword reach out at him. "If you wanted to die so badly, all you had to do was ask."
Right at that moment, Ulquiorra used his sonido; he made a series of movements, each faster than the last as he zigzagged towards his opponent. His last move, being much faster than most could see, placed his back to her back. “A pile of trash could never be considered equal; your existence is as insignificant as a common pest.” His voice barely above a whisper as he stood at her back.
Saru's head whipped around when she felt his presence behind her. There was no way in hell she was comfortable with that and she instantly swung her arm around towards him as she wanted nothing more but to connect her fist with that pale face. "My existence?! Just look at you! You're no gem!" If she was trash, he was the germ that grew on the maggots that was found in trash. "If you're wanting to fight, just say so! I don't have all day to waste on you!" Monkey's rage was now at an all-time high. Dammit. I could really use Snake right about now.
Out of chains
I came on here to have fun, start some stuff up and see if anyone was on. Low and behold the psychopathic espada ended up being on.
