Day five: Is there any specific event you want to lose the weight for?
Yes. My brother is a soldier currently stationed in Afghanistan. He's extremely health conscience and has always tried to get me to work out with him. Since he's always been pretty fit and I've always been...well...not if we tried to workout together I'd end up discouraged. I love my brother, he's been the best sibling I could ever ask for, and I want to get in shape so that we can do more together. We both have an interest in free running/parkour as well as a desire to go on The Amazing Race. I want to lose weight, but mostly gain muscle, so that when he comes home next year we can hit my CrossFit gym together.

INGREDIENTS:
ice
strawberries
rolled oats
a cup of cashews
a cup of almond milk
two spoons of maple syrup
cinnamon and nutmeg
a bit of vanilla extract
Lets get a few things very clear
Carbs do not make you fat.
Nothing in moderation makes a difference to how your body looks.
It’s ok to treat yourself!
Your body can handle extra calories relatively frequently.
Water has no calories.
Sugar is not the devil.
Pasta is not the devil.
No food in the world is the devil because food is essential to everything in the world ever.
And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Including the little voice in your head.
sometimes i like to have someone to ramble to about fitness stuff or workouts or feeling lazy or making healthy food.
if i can do this to you, please like or reblog this so i have people to message whenever.. same to everyone on this list =)
IF UR A BOY AND UR VOICE CRACKS DO NOT BE ASHAMED IT IS CUTE AND MAKES ME FLAIL ON THE INSIDE IN SHARP OUTBURSTS OF EXCITEMENT AND HAPPY
You’ve gotta accept that, to a certain extent, life is pain.

Forgot to do it yesterday, so here's two days worth. Sorry!
Day three: Do you count calories? What is your daily calorie goal/allowance?
Yep! I like being able to keep track of what I'm eating so I can try and cut back on my overeating and less than healthy eating habits. My goal/allowance is 1,560 calories.
Day four: Do you work out? How many times a week?
Just recently started working out again. Three days of CrossFit this week and starting next week it'll be 2-3 days of CrossFit a week as well as a day or two at the gym swimming laps. It all depends on my work schedule, unfortunately.
CrossFit today kicked my ass. oh my god.
Last day of the essentials classes though. Next week I can move into the regular beginners class with a goal of moving to the advanced/regular class by the time fall semester starts.
Though I'm not in much better shape than my mom and the other woman in the class the instructor was definitely pushing me harder. Higher setting for the rowing warmup, heavier medicine ball, deeper squats. I'm definitely feeling it. While I appreciate him pushing me I still have that immature thought of 'that's not fair'. I'm grateful for the challenge, though.
But in other news...
Week one of CrossFit is complete!
(REPOSTING- old photo) Made a Detox Quinoa Salad for my family today.
Recipe: 2 cups cooked quinoa 2 ripen vine tomatoes ( diced) 1 whole lemon (juice and for garnish) 1 whole carrot (medium size, diced) 1 whole cucumber (diced) handful cilantro (for garnish as well salt and pepper for taste Directions: -When making Quinoa, it should be a 2 to 1 ratio of water. So with that being said, 2 cups of Quinoa is roughly about 4 cups of water. -After cooking the Quinoa, set aside to let it cool down, for about 30-45 minutes or so -In that time, just slice and dice up everything. -When Quinoa is cooled down, put the tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and juice of half a lemon (I think that’s about 1 tablespoon) -Mix with a salad spoon, sprinkle cilantro, and slice up the other half of the lemon into little wedges, and then enjoy!
Yum! Looks so good - I must try this!

Anybody who laughs at others for working hard for their goals are pathetic. People should be encouraged to reach their goals, not made fun of!
