y/n returns from (city) to nyc after failed business attempts, followed by an ex-fiancé who cheated and doesn’t want to let go.

they’re mugged first day back, luggage stolen; spider-man swoops in just as y/n bursts into tears and sits on the sidewalk, not bothering to follow the mugger. spider-man does, however, and brings their luggage back.

he’s surprised when they look up, secretly recognising them as his high-school friend. after swinging away, y/n happens to run into peter parker as they round a corner.

he invites them out for coffee, to reconnect, but y/n explains that they just want to get home and settle in. they exchange numbers instead, a kiss on the cheek, before parting ways.

the ex-fiancé saw the kiss, and they’re fuming, still convinced that y/n is theirs. chaos ensues, as the ex is always three steps behind y/n, peter parker and spider-man, until it all comes to fruition on christmas eve.
