With all due respect, I wanted to share my humble opinion on what you're saying. I find the argument that "SM doesn’t give a f* about what we want and will always prioritize their Korean audience over the global one. SM isn’t the only company that treats their idols like s*" to be conformist and defeatist.
It’s well-known that the K-pop industry has been horrible for a long time, but that doesn’t mean we should normalize or accept it.
Changes need to happen because, at the end of the day, idols are human beings, just like you and me. As consumers of this industry, we have a degree of responsibility because we are the ones giving money to these companies, enabling them to treat idols the way they do and to continue these harmful practices.
The argument of "I won’t do anything because they won’t listen to me, or I won’t change anything'" is very sad.
A clear example is that, throughout the history of this world, positive changes for humanity have been achieved through effort—changes that no one believed were possible because many people thought just like you: " Leave it as it is because nothing can be done" However, those changes were achieved by people who committed themselves to those causes because they are changes worth fighting for.
People must have a sense of responsibility toward the injustices that occur.
One cannot continue consuming this industry while being aware of what is happening and just say, 'Oh, how sad. Anyways, let’s keep giving money to SM. like... how your heart and mind can take that.
And as someone pointed out to you, if you no longer believe that RIIZE is 7 and have given up due to your conformist attitude, then stop using the hashtag. And no, that doesn’t mean reducing RIIZE to just a number—if that’s what you think, that’s truly unfortunate.
after reading this im happy that you actually explained to me why it’s wrong that I’m supporting riize and seunghan rather then just going off on me without knowing what they mean to me!
