what i love the most about phil’s vid is that it represents a queer narrative that is so common in experience but still so uncommon in media. a narrative about someone who knew they were gay from a young age, without question. who was closeted, but not in a significantly traumatic way. who was outed against their will, but took control of the situation.

it resonates for me in a completely different way than dan’s video did. it resonates with the part of me that so desperately wants it to not matter that i’m queer. that wants to just live the simplicities of my life and know that other queer people are out there doing the same.

“i’m gay, it’s great, i’m happy.”

that’s power.

#honestly dans video rattled me in a way that wasnt pleasant #im not saying his video was bad or unimportant because it was the opposite #but for me personally it made me question things about myself that i buried deep and i dont want to confront #phils video was sweet and short and it didnt made me feel uneasy or questioning myself #i think both of them are important
