there should be a cooking show where contestants come in and are given recipes where they have to use old english measurements (hands, shaftments, hundred weight [which is actually 112 pounds??], pottles etc.

like can you imagine being so confident on a cooking show and then mr sadist alton brown walks in and gives you a measuring cup that says “grain” (1/7000th of a pound) and it can only hold one (1) grain of sugar or salt or whatever at a time???? it’s awful and i need to see it.
