i have been casting my hand at the fiber arts recently— wanting to incorporate knot magic into my workings someday, while we’re on the topic— and in that vein have been exploring the idea of learning to spin threads and weave textiles ,

and in the course of researching have found a history of weaving i honestly should have already guessed at that links me to my ancestors

it feels like a deliberate steering of my path to make this connection. i’m humbled by it, my heart is bursting.

spell log

fall cleansing

ritual was followed with minor changes:

black candle was unsalted

buried hair & nail bundle the morning after the new moon

followed by a feeling lightness, a weight relieved, and an ease of being

fall cleaning

(a ritual to renew before winter)

-intentions: remove old obstacles, release shame and guilt, & unfasten unwanted bonds

-begin from the harvest moon or the last full moon before autumn, to be completed on the next new moon

-clip nails (just fingers, or all) & save them

-deep clean your home/space; focus on the things that you have been avoiding

-prepare a black candle, with salt representing purification

-throughout this time period, meditate on what you will be letting go of & leaving behind; memories, situations, people, objects, ideologies

-finish your cleaning before the sun rises on the day of the new moon

-trim the ends of your hair & combine it with your nails

-on the night of the new moon, light the salted black candle, and bury the hair & nails in a small, but deep, hole. tamp the dirt out to help return its undisturbed appearance, and if possible, cover with a stone or rock (s)

slept approximately 0000 to 0800

fitful rest — i know i had a longer dream but what i remember is driving, and turning on a red light. it was an odd, out of place light, like it was placed there just for me, to stop me; everyone else’s light in my direction of travel was green. so i ignored the red and went. i proceeded to cut off someone and saw police lights flash, and began weaving through traffic (with much difficulty) to try to outrun the bastards. there was a space between two cars i needed to squeeze through and i just knew once i passed, i’d be safe. it was tense— but i made it. once i did i immediately found myself on a looped, dirt racetrack, joining the fray. i woke up before completing the race.

slept approx 0300 to 0700, fell asleep til 0900

woke— suddenly— feeling agitated, frustrated, bordering on fury, feeling justified and cold satisfaction

partner brought an old acquaintance to our home, fair haired/fair skinned woman; rude, disdainful, scorning, blunt, haughty; taking matters into my own hands, i put her in her place by stabbing her in the eye. 7-9 times. i threatened my partner if he chose to help her. i contemplated ways to frame him and leave.

hex for revenge

-meditate & clear your energy for strength and focus; channel it into a crystal of choice

-write the name of the target on a black candle (inscribed or on a paper placed within)

-stick thumbtacks/objects of choice into candle, while visualizing your intentions, what impact your hex will have, and how long it will last

-write an incantation (etched or on a paper tucked in) if desired, to add direction or detail to the spell

-light your candle and allow it to burn, reciting incantation if desired

-keep the crystal on your person for the duration of the spell’s timeframe

-meditate on this hex, envisioning the punishment, on the new moon, and repeat nightly until the moon is full, then burn the candle.

-lay down a salt circle
