Personal March Garden Schedule : )
To do list based off of information with the Farmer’s Almanac (incomplete, simply for reminders):
2nd: Plant above ground crops, no flowers, no root veggies. Use plastic wrap and tins to start seeds, buy seeds for planting, scope out live plants.
3rd- 5th: Finish taking doen the shed (incomplete), look at ways to fashion sheet metal into above ground planters, duck clean up, compost set up (incomplete)
6th- 2nd round of above ground crop seed starting, record the outcome for the first batch (complete), trash clean up (incomplete).
7th - 10th: Dump, deep clean, and refill duck ponds (refilled daily, deep cleaned occasionally), retrieve chicken wire, finish moving found tractor tires out of the tree line. General maintenence, hang lights on the porch.
11th - 12th: 3rd round of above ground seeding (last days), plant seed beds (trial, pick a few packets), plant flowers (trial, some in ground, some in kiddie pool, some in containers). Wild flowers, chamomile and chives reccomended.
13th - 17th: Gather materials for the potatoes (buckets, chicken wire, ties), cont. gen. maintenence. Till the lot, look at designs for a temporary greenhouse. (upcycled sheet metal, recycled wood, clear painter's plastic tarp).
18th - 21st: Plant root crop seeds, transplant young plants into garden (20th and 21st only), last days for seed beds (20th and 21st only). Check compost pile.
22nd -23rd: Prep for more root crops, collect barrel/buckets and dig to submurge the bottoms at least an inch into the surrounding soil. Check if the lawn needs to be mowed, move daffodils (dad/siblings will kill with the lawn mower).
24th - 25th: Plant onions and potatoes, check other plants for progress, complete a log.
26th - 28th: Harvest time (if any is needed), weed once every few days, check for complications.
29th - 30th: Plant remaining root crop seeds, transplant baby plants, trees (need to be aquired), blue berry bushes, and misc. Check compost.
31st: Check for harvest, weed around plants, check if the yard needs to be mowed. Dry grass on the tarp for duck bedding.
