Guys no offence but I love giving compliments so much!!

Like they take no time to do, you just gotta say nice things. The smiles you get back? Absolutely priceless like that’s my bro! I made em happy!

But the other day I was talking to my friend and he’s super good at drawing, so I asked him “How are you that good? Seriously, that’s amazing,” and he told me that a few years ago when we were back in primary school me and my other friend had said he was one of the best artists we knew and it had made him want to draw more, and he got loads of practice as a result. I was so surprised he had remembered that.

And then I was thinking about what I like about myself, like my cool scar and the short stories I write sometimes. Then I remembered I actually used to hate both of them, but I had people tell me they were cool, and it changed the whole way I thought about those things for good, like that’s pretty cool.

So yesterday I was at school and I started giving out loads of compliments, not even to people I knew well. Like in English I told someone I’ve hardly ever talked to that I liked how they did their hair, and on the way to social studies I told one of the jocks that their speech they did last lesson was really interesting. Both times the people smiled really widely.

And then I was sitting on the bus and I was feeling more confident about talking to new people than I normally would, so I struck up conversation with the quiet kid on the bus and told them that they always impressed me with how kind they were, and they almost cried. I made a new friend that day.

So yeah, I think in future I’m gonna give compliments freely. Just gonna go around telling people nice things and trying to get a couple of smiles in return. Never know if someone needs it. 10/10, would recommend
