Ece Sari
20 | She/her | Female | Sari #5
+ outgoing, inquisitive, and excitable - loud, un-demure, and nontraditional
She grew up enveloped in the smell of baking bread, a bright smile on her face as she sat on the counter, hands covered in flour.
She would grow, learning the ways of the rolling pin under the watchful eye of her mother. She'd never lose her smile. There was something warm about her family. warmer than the oven that they all gathered around on winters nights.
When her Eldest brother married Eliza, it was like that just got folded in. Ece fell in love with her new sister too, and soon it felt like the seamstress had always been a Sari. That they'd always been family.
Her parents died when she was ten. She remembers the sickness, remembers being locked in a room away from her parents so the rattling cough wouldn't invade her lungs too. She remembers holding her siblings close and praying she wouldn't lose anyone else. but it was just her mom and dad.
She never got to say goodbye.
Growing up a youngest sister meant she was well taken care of by her oldest siblings, even through the transition. And although it was hard, there was never a moment where she felt unloved or unwanted. Her family was always there.
When she was sixteen, another change hit the bakery. This time, another death, but not one that hurt her. Instead, her family was suddenly nobility. Her brother, a duke of devonshire.
Ece couldn't even spell devonshire.
She moved into a cavernous house and still found herself baking in the kitchen. She had servants and maids, but whatever days Eliza could, Ece begged her to do her hair.
But being a duke's sister did have it's perks.
She wasn't allowed to attend the balls, at first, being too young. but she still got to visit other estates, and quickly, she made a friend. another noble girl, similar in age and interest.
but this girl was special, made her smile and laugh like nobody ever had. Although she wasn't meant to, Ece found herself head over heels for this girl.
Ece isn't about to tell her family she's gay, or has been dating this girl for at least a year, or that they may as well be betrothed. She isn't sure how. So instead, she let her brothers present her this year. Maybe she'll get a few more dances with the love of her life at all these balls. Other than that, She seems uninterested in anything except making sure her siblings are happy.
