really i think the red wedding is perhaps one of the best moments in modern literary history because its soooo much more than just that one scene ive said it once and ill say it again nothing in asoiaf is a complete and utter shock twist everything is foreshadowed like being woven into a great tapestry of everything that happens. the red wedding is foreshadowed so much you feel it looming over every narrative involved and i really do believe the cultural consciousness of the spoiler that it will happen improves the reading for the red wedding. you know that sickening feeling that everyone here involved is doomed and there's nothing youu can do to stop it. daenerys's vision of a king with a wolf head surrounded at a feast of the dead a whole book before it even takes place. the emphasizing of how you should never ever ever ever violate the laws of hospitality its a crime against the gods and catelyn continuing to push that they should eat first no more matter what. the legend of the rat cook and the gods anger over it. and then you realize not only is the red wedding a tragedy but it is just the beginning and a narrative device that will span every house involved and their downfalls. it is by design that tywin lannister plans it and he's dead by the end of the same book along with his grandson. oh red wedding you will always be famous i love you so dearly and i cannot wait to read the fabulous horror of the demise that lord walder frey will meet
Absolute tragedy that the 39 clues website is gone forever and we can’t play those games
Miguel O’Hara
is half Irish, half Mexican
has trouble talking about his feelings
can count the number of people he trusts on one hand
can’t forgive himself for his mistakes
carries guilt over the deaths of his loved ones and millions of innocent lives
voluntarily puts the weight of all of reality on his shoulders to the point where it crushes what little mental health he has left
has devotion to his righteous cause that would put any templar or paladin to shame
and is a vampire
Miguel O’Hara might just be the most catholicy catholic to ever catholic.

one thing i love about Hobie Brown is how well he embodies punk and how people VIEW punks. throughout the scenes he's in it might seem like he's being chaotic for no reason other than Cool Factor™️. But if you take a closer look at everything he was up to, he actually pulled so much weight for the team. When he was signaling miles about the palms, it might've looked like he was just instigating, but he seriously did agree with miles and wanted to help (hence his quitting the spider society and continuing to help team miles afterwards). And when he was picking shit off the walls of miguel's base, it seemed like him just being a menace, but he was collecting the pieces to fashion gwen's watch, which he took the time to deliver to her later (presumably using his own DIY watch). i think it's easy to write him off as being a general menace just for funsies, and see him as just a fun chaotic character, but Hobie had the plan and intent of helping miles break the canon the entire time. behind everything he did, he had a solid reasoning, he just did it with some edge. and that's fucking punk if i've ever seen it.
I think a big thing that people are overlooking is how Hobie looks out for his own and how much that coincides with punk culture.
Him looking out for younger teens is so fucking punk of him. He lets Gwen stay with him because she's vulnerable and struggling, he makes her a watch, he lets her keep his shoes, etc. and it's not out of romance, it's because she's family. Same with Miles; he knows Miles is naive and wants to help him, because he's been in the spider society longer and he knows what's really going on. He sees the adults, who are supposed to mentor them, targeting Miles and he just knows it's flat-out wrong and that he wants no part of it.
Hobie takes on such a big brother role for the other characters and I love it. He's more mature than the other teens in so many aspects, and he uses his experience to teach them how to get by because that's what being punk is about

Setty Abraham from Baghdad and Mack Coad from Alabama pose for a picture together during the Spanish Civil War. Both were antifascist fighters in the International Brigades who traveled to fight the forces under Franco. Setty Abraham was a typographer, interpreter, and writer born in Baghdad and was working in South America before the war. Mack Coad was a steelworker from Birmingham and Communist Party organizer. He is mentioned in books such as “Hammer and Hoe: Alabama Communists During the Great Depression” and Harry Haywood’s autobiography “Black Bolshevik”.
I’ve decided I am regressing back to high school/early college and popping back here lol
it's important to me that queendeath jokes come not from a place of online community or coming together to laugh at her but from a place of profound and viscous hatred for her and every member of her digusting family. for all the deaths by her hand and in her name, deaths that will only increase as the government cracks the eugenical whip.
dont just have fun with the jokes, enjoy the fact that that witch has died. a tyrant is dead. they will starve millions of us for her funeral. we cannot let her rest undefiled. this is what hatred is for, let it energize you. if you are in america or canada or somethere else, this will not affect you directly. remember those who will die this winter.
/gen did queen elizabeth did something problematic recently or are people just celebrating her death bc she's rich and a royal ? Asking bc i havent seen any callouts or negative headlines about her recently
she ships reylo hope that helps
Okay so if it's true and Dracula himself was the driver of the coach, that means that Jonathan was just standing there in absolute panic waiting for the door to be answered and it took so long because Dracula was probably like, ,, scaling the fucking wall of the castle to climb in a window so he could greet him at the front door in a Normal Way since apparently there's no other exits
Today in Dracula, Jonathan Harker faces his biggest fear yet, Catholics maybe being right
