How long will white people let this happen? You’re the ones who can change it. You’re the only ones. Turning a blind eye is no longer acceptable. And being offended that you aren’t trusted, equally unacceptable. Earn trust, earn respect. Earn friendship by proving that you care, that you are a human being who believe in decency. Otherwise…you’re part of the problem.

I’m not sure if I should throw my hat in the ring but I’m going to anyway. While this is incredibly horrific and is very much the reason why cops are despised… I can’t help but ask why does everyone assume cops are racist assholes who eat donuts?

My father is a long time law enforcer and every time something bad happens in our neighborhood everyone comes to his house asking why cops are horrible. Then he would say that ‘people are evil, I can’t change that but I can certainly try to stop it.“ I have a huge amount of respect for him. Granted he’s not a patrol officer but he’s a part of the team that’s trying to solve the mystery of the Vegas shootings right now! Every time I see someone say fuck the cops I just… sigh… because no one focuses on the good. My dad got coffee thrown at him when taking questions one time because the woman thought he worked directly from the local police station.

I just… it frustrates me… I hate how cops misuse their power but I hate how nobody trusts them either! Crimes happen because no one calls the police! They’re here to help! Not rape your children and murder your family! If you see patrol officers doing that to a child, call 911. Then get involved, at least then you have accountability in the act. Still I’m probably gonna get a lot hate so… whatever I’m ready to go to hell.

Nah, I’ll pass. While not all cops are dirty, the “others” and the union cover for the bad ones so how can the general public trust them. You want regular folks to snitch yet cops will back the blue matter how horrific they are.
