let me write my one last prompt before i die (defending my thesis) tomorrow
where in, after meeting omega nirei at kiryu’s party, alpha suo can’t seem to get the blonde out of his head. color him surprised when he met the same blonde he thinks of, across his own new condo unit.
solo parent! nirei has always been a hands on parent to his son, and in times he has to do his job, he often asks his friends for help in babysitting his kid.
but it seems that his luck is running out, sugishita and sakura are very busy with a deal they have to close. while tsugeura is away for some personal matters.
kiryu also couldn’t come because of some business emergency, however, he promised to get nirei a trusty babysitter for him.
then, his doorbell rang.
the person behind the door is… suo-san?
“do you need anything, suo-san?”
“rather me, kiryu phoned me to help you, nirei-kun.”
nirei blushed, “oh, of course. come in!”
everything falls into place after that moment. from nirei’s temporary babysitter, to his son’s active playmate. then becoming his son’s daycare pick up driver, to their almost everyday visitor.
even scenting became so easy for the three of them. suo often just leaves some of his fatherly scent around the child after driving him to his daycare, and nirei giving both suo and his kid some of his scent before they leave.
suo just became a part of their life in a span of few years. nirei can’t help but to rely on him.
he’s gotten a few shovel talks from nirei’s group, but nothing he couldn’t handle. he’s ready to risk it all for nirei and their kid after all.
may it be fighting the kid’s other biological father for custody rights— or making the useless man disappear if nirei ever so wishes to, suo is very much ready to everything, to keep them close to him at all times.
here lies the problem, no matter how much he expresses or tells nirei his intentions; he often gets brushed off or just pushed away. just because nirei thinks that suo deserved better.
but this is the betterment that suo deserves! a happy family with nirei and their kid! and maybe a few more kids in the future, if nirei allows him.
with the help of kiryu, and the others after a few bribery, passing their so-called tests, and just outright suo asking them for help, the group has taken their kid out to play to leave suo and nirei some time alone, to which often results in him being rejected.
a long fluffy series of nirei being a great father, and suo helping him every step of the way, and the baby getting the loving family he so deserves!
bonus! a suo sulking episode because of how he gets his first kiss from nirei and nirei regetting it in front of him the next day, crumbling a little bit of his life away.
OH MY GOD I HAD THE GREATEST IDEA GUYS HEAR ME OUT
where in foxian deity! suo requires a “sacrificial” bride once every century to tend to him, as he feeds off of emotion to keep himself alive in exchange of protecting the town from calamities. cue to year xxxx’s sacrificial bride! nirei who is almost devoid of emotion.
growing up, nirei was already chosen to be a sacrificial bride and was often abused by the people in the main house. after realizing that no one will protect him, he succumbed to his negative thoughts and decided that he will accept his “death” in the hands of the deity for the sake of humanity.
in hopes for a humorous, and light-hearted conversation with his new bride, suo decided to joke around nirei about how he’d pick a date on when he’ll eat him, to which instead of fear, nirei only nodded and respectfully bowed at him that he, or the blonde will now be at the foxian’s mercy.
suo was stunned as he watched kiryu lead nirei into his own room.
——— meanwhile, with kiryu and nirei:
“pardon my master’s words, nirei-san. he tends to go overboard with his jokes.”
“just nirei, or akihiko is fine, kiryu-san. and you don’t have to make me feel better, i know that my life will be at the great lord’s mercy. i am just happy to be of service for him, and the people.”
somehow, that sounded like a huge misunderstanding on nirei’s part. but kiryu supposes it was fatigue from all the traveling. after all, the town is quite far from the top of the mountains where they reside.
however, the supposed “fatigue” was actually a huge misunderstanding, kiryu muses. after weeks of staying in the shrine, suo’s state was not getting any better. it meant that little emotion to none were felt by nirei as he lives with them. and the bride lived as quiet as a mice. taking care of things or what he wanted, by himself. even going as far as to fighting off a fever on his own, had kiryu never found him in his room— the poor blonde would’ve suffered terrible cold.
though it was hazy, or he probably had no memory of it all, but nirei spent his days recuperating in the master’s embrace.
kiryu was made to not say a word about it though.
——— after that,
suo made attempts to spend more time with nirei, to which nirei interpreted as his final moments. but-
it’s been a few weeks? and the deity has not expressed any desire to kill him?
the blonde buries his own feelings as he got to know the foxian deity. he got to know that suo is deeply knowledgeable about a lot of things, even things that only nirei knew because of how much he reads. and that the deity likes a variety of teas, and some corresponding teacakes that kiryu serves them. and how suo dislikes seeing tsugeura in the morning because he is not a morning person himself.
nirei never knew that a deity would seem so… human. so… full of life, and just normal.
and so he asks. he asked suo, before he falls deeper and fears death.
he can’t fear what he’s born to fulfill, after all.
he needs to die. he doesn’t crave death— the gods knows how he cling to his pathetic little life and the short-lived happiness he experienced in this place he shamelessly calls home.
“suo-san? when are you going to take my life?”
“…”
“i think, i can die happy, if it’s you. as i got to know you, and your retainers, i think that being born as a sacrifice wasn’t bad” nirei weakly laughs, but then as he looks at suo again, the deity was fueled with rage.
perhaps, after seeing the fear in nirei’s eyes, suo decided to smile sweetly at him. a smile even scarier than his rage. “nirei, perhaps the humans had began plotting my death. but the truth about the brides i take,” he takes a deep breath before continuing. “the truth about the brides i take in, is that they spend the rest of their life with me. i would hope that you understand that.”
“let’s go to my room, and sleep. i need you to stay with me, as something has soured my mood tonight. would that be alright, aki-kun?”
nirei agreed, though still slightly confused.
that night, suo sent kiryu down the mountain to send a warning to the people. specifically, the family that housed nirei before he was sent there.
this was the first time that he’s ever felt this way toward a human, and yet he finds out that he’s almost devoid of emotion just because of how he was raised? suo will never ever forgive those people. duties be damned, he deserves to give out their punishments.
with the punishment concluded, suo will now focus on helping nirei enjoy everything again. after all, his aki-kun’s happiness has tasted better than that of the other sacrifices from other timelines.
and it will taste even better once he proceeded with his courting, and mating rituals. but for now he needs a happy and satisfied nirei in his arms. he’d also have to appoint sakura as nirei’s personal guard for when he wants to go visit the town.
——— or, the story of a foxian deity and his human bride that gives the tastiest of pure emotions, and their journey in love.
