andrew hussie is wearing $800+ fucking dollars worth of clothing in those pictures like the brand he’s wearing sells hoodies starting at $195 this is fucking ridiculous
ok so today i found this website with a thing called Musenet. It generates music based on a starting audio file, and it’s actually amazing. So the first 15 or so seconds of that song was written by me, and then the rest of the song was generated by AI.
I love how irrelevant tumblr is. like no celebrities on here, no colleagues or family on here, no one’s famous off tumblr or making money, tbh no ones even updating the site like is there even any staff? who knows? it’s bliss
The morning of election day in 2016, Hillary was given a 75% chance of winning. Take nothing for granted.
Perfect magnets
Fun story: One of the first things I was taught as an astronomy student is that, if you want to be a dick to someone giving a presentation, ask them “and how do the magnetic fields play into this?” and they will invariably say “fuck you I don’t know” because no one understands magnetic fields they are black magic.

Magnets are pure bullshit.
Pure utter bullshit. Electromagnetic forces somehow outstrip gravitic forces in strength by an obscene factor, for no reason I can comprehend and it bothers me.
One, that gif showing the Curie temperature is really cool.
Two, you don’t understand, magnetic fields are the bane of my existance and I have a masters dissertation about them. I studied how magnetic fields develop in low mass stars and every single meeting with my supervisor ended in some conversation about how stupid magnetism is.
“Oh yeah and this is effected by the magnetic field strength…”
“But why?”
“God knows, I don’t have a clue.”
Was literally said to me by a professor who has spent 20 years of his life looking at magnetism in stars.
ALSO:
“Don’t ask why, we don’t know. Maybe magnetism? Who knows anything about magnetism.” - My Stellar Physics professor when asked about certain processes in stellar formation, something he has been studying for 10 years.
Like we know so little about that it’s actually funny.
that would explain why i still to this day cannot understand what i learned in my em courses
“Magnets are to science what Necromancy is to magic” is a quote from one of my DnD players with a Masters Physics (or a branch of it, don’t remember the details).
It was years ago and I still have not forgotten the haunted look on his face.
some sort of love poem
This is the wildest result of one of my comics becoming popular I feel rabid
was just gonna reblog this bomb ass comic again bc it's a mood but the author's addition is hilarious. this is why your english teachers taught you to find meaning in a text
Spotify is being mean to me today
It's wonderful how, with no warning and without even trying, we will randomly stumble across new favorite songs, new favorite artists, new favorite books, new favorite movies, new favorite games, new favorite shows, new favorite snacks, new passions, new hobbies, new interests, new favorite blogs and new favorite people. So when things are terrible, hold onto the fact that someday, possibly when you least expect it, you'll suddenly come across something wonderful!
was looking up 50s fashion for writing reasons and i CANNOT get over the outfits these girls are rocking
- This is bobby soxer fashion that originated in the 1940s, not 50s. Specifically, this 2016 Tumblr post attributes this photo to Life magazine in 1947
- The style was not considered masculine in its time (for commenters remarking on crossdressing laws); pants had been mainstream women’s fashion since the 30s and especially during WWII due to women in factory work. This was an extremely popular style associated with fans of popular music performers like Frank Sinatra. It was a teenage style in particular; the 40s saw the number of girls attending secondary school rise substantially, as did the number of teens with disposable incomes.
It’s fascinating to me that people under 30 are looking at very trendy look today and seeing gender nonconformity. It says more about what we consider “feminine” clothing to be today (Revealing? Low necklines? Translucent? Form-fitting? Curve-enhancing?) than the image itself.
But also, it’s great fashion, and I should be able to walk into any store and buy it. What gives, fashion industry??? >:(
#this is a great example of gender presentation not being some kind of feminist progression #in some ways our sense of style or femme has regressed as well as progressed at the same time #moving through time isnt going from ‘less to more progressive’ in our modern eye
i’m just someone’s weird coworker
unfollowing people on tumblr: stress-free, no one knows, do it without a second thought
unfollowing people on twitter: nerve-racking, feels like detonating a bomb if you’re mutuals, other person instantly bursts into tears and hires a deep-web assassin to get you
those tumblr users moved to twitter and now they got unfollower counters
ima keep it unreal with you chief. ima show you forbidden eldritch knowledge beyond your ability to comprehend.
Mutuals do this
if we're mutuals feel free to send me arcane secrets terrible to behold
Hey, it's October now! Its my absolute favorite month that contains my favorite holiday.
However, Halloween and the days leading up to it can be very stressful for psychotic folk.
So!
Please:
Do not trip paranoia/strengthen delusions on purpose for fun. If you are in a position to stoke someone's paranoia or to ease it, do the kind thing. If you're faced with a delusion, do not advance it. This doesn't necessarily mean give an unwanted reality check, it just means do not take it further.
Do not take advantage of people's psychosis for a laugh. Don't pretend like real things are just hallucinations and that you can't experience them, and do not pretend that genuine hallucinations are real. You could do some serious damage to a person by making them think they're hallucinating when they're not, and you can do just as much damage if you convince them that what they are hallucinating is real.
Do not mock and demonize our mental illness with offensive costumes. We are not a joke. Don't run around in straight jackets. Its not funny, it's not quirky, it's not cool. Its ableist. Psychotic people, as well as many other groups of people, have faced years of active hatred and oppression. Its not funny to poke fun at those times of abuse.
Do not encourage the narrative of asylums filled with murderous, "insane" monsters or the stereotype of "crazy" killers. Go to a different haunted house. We are not a horror sideshow, we are real people who have suffered real terror, real trauma, and real challenges. Its not ok and it's actively harmful.
It takes very little effort to make psychotic people feel welcome and comfortable this Halloween. Please don't ostracize us.
Have a good October and a happy Halloween!
how do cats even work
Cats:
A cat can jump up to five times its own height in a single bound.
The little tufts of hair in a cat’s ear that help keep out dirt direct sounds into the ear, and insulate the ears are called “ear furnishings.”
The ability of a cat to find its way home is called “psi-traveling.” Experts think cats either use the angle of the sunlight to find their way or that cats have magnetized cells in their brains that act as compasses.
One reason that kittens sleep so much is because a growth hormone is released only during sleep.
A cat has 230 bones in its body. A human has 206. A cat has no collarbone, so it can fit through any opening the size of its head.
A cat’s nose pad is ridged with a unique pattern, just like the fingerprint of a human.
If they have ample water, cats can tolerate temperatures up to 133 °F.
A cat’s heart beats nearly twice as fast as a human heart, at 110 to 140 beats a minute.
Cats don’t have sweat glands over their bodies like humans do. Instead, they sweat only through their paws.
The claws on the cat’s back paws aren’t as sharp as the claws on the front paws because the claws in the back don’t retract and, consequently, become worn.
Cats make about 100 different sounds. Dogs make only about 10.
Researchers are unsure exactly how a cat purrs. Most veterinarians believe that a cat purrs by vibrating vocal folds deep in the throat. To do this, a muscle in the larynx opens and closes the air passage about 25 times per second.
A cat almost never meows at another cat, mostly just humans. Cats typically will spit, purr, and hiss at other cats.
A cat’s back is extremely flexible because it has up to 53 loosely fitting vertebrae. Humans only have 34.
Some cats have survived falls of over 65 feet (20 meters), due largely to their “righting reflex.” The eyes and balance organs in the inner ear tell it where it is in space so the cat can land on its feet. Even cats without a tail have this ability.
A cat can travel at a top speed of approximately 31 mph (49 km) over a short distance.
A cat’s hearing is better than a dog’s. And a cat can hear high-frequency sounds up to two octaves higher than a human.
A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions.
And that’s how cats work.
I learned more about cats in this post than I did in my freshamn biology class in college
Gods perfect murder machines but they weigh 8lbs
