I love how you can tell which account is an actual reader and which is a bot (on ao3).

Because the bot will say something like “you make these characters come to life” and “how thrilling you’ve made this story”

Meanwhile the readers are “screaming crying rolling on the floor eating the drywall”

Still Beating Fanart

Recently read a heavy fic that's Rafael Esquivel centric, I adored the concept and created fanart/mock-cover for it. I'll leave a link to it under the art, and make sure to read the tags!

I took some creative liberties with the art, specifically his hair being replaced with dark energon crystals - that, and I didn't make it as gore-heavy as the fic itself. I've got uni stuff to do, and until I catch up, I cannot work on Underbelly.

Are there bots on AO3 now?

Or am I tripping?

Because I've gotten two or three comments that are really, really weird and out-of-the-norm for fanfic readers. And on top of that, they always have no pfps and no bookmarks.

Specifically it's the bookmarks that get me, because if you don't have those, what are you reading? I get that not everybody uses those, but still.

'S just weird, man.

Has anyone else gotten these or something similar? This one in particular sticks out because it's odd in general, and it's on the first chapter and not the most recent one. I've had people comment on past chapters before, but typically it's them writing out their thoughts as they work their way through from 1st to the most recent chapter.

I'm not tripping, right? Or did I really go three and a half years without encountering a single bot? Because it's been a week and I think I've already seen two.

Me personally, I was thinking of a Typhoomerang for Yong >:33

They're big and fierce like Monstrous Nightmares which kinda gives him an arc of having to learn how to work with the dragon without it going crazy and being unruly. Similar to how he would with using fireworks. But then on top of that, their whole fire show is really cool and yk how the babies make sparks and stuff! I think stuff like that makes them even more firework-related!

I've had some trouble coming up with a dragon for Nuru though... Nadder honestly sounds really good, (and I assume you're talking about Dramillions? I haven't seen RTTE that far yet so I'm actually not familiar with them..) but I'd love to be able to connect Nuru's dragon with astronomy somehow. Maybe like a Night Fury or Night Terror since they're nocturnal dragons..?

Ooooooo I'm absolutely enjoying all these ideas, but if I may throw my hat in the ring for Nuru's dragon- what about a Razorwhip? (I'm a little biased since they're a personal favorite)

I feel like Nuru could be a Wingmaiden (a group of female warriors who raise and release Razorwhips). And when she joins the crew, she has no dragon to care for. Maybe they eventually run into one of the Razorwhips she raised, and that becomes her dragon companion.

Also, I do really really really like the Night Terror idea- mostly due to the thought of Nuru with an army of them.

Fic Writing and Uni

So, to keep this short, fic writing plus uni work might be a little difficult - mostly due to the workload (it's really just one class that's giving me 2-3x the amount of work compared to other classes).

I'll figure out how to manage later on, but I apologize in advance if Underbelly's updates are late.

As for I've Got Nothing Left to Prove, Cause I've Got Nothing Left to Lose: I'm bouncing around ideas with my roomie about what direction I want to take Hollow Mind. However, I do want your input on what to do afterwards, though.

TADC Theory (i guess)

A slight deviation from my usual posts.

I'm not heavily involved with The Amazing Digital Circus fandom, but this thought wouldn't leave me, so.

If anyone's played the game SOMA, you might know where this is going, if you haven't, I'll keep it brief (though, it does kind of spoil part of the game a little).

In SOMA, the protagonist (Simon) goes in for a brain scan, and when in the process of doing so, there's a bright flash and suddenly he's waking up in PATHOS-II (at a site called Upsilon).

Long story short, Simon eventually comes in contact with a woman named Catherine who tells him to meet her at another site. When he gets there, he finds that Catherine isn't actually human, but instead a *scan of a human consciousness placed inside a robot's body.

It's revealed that Simon is also a consciousness placed inside a body, seeing as the "original" Simon died about a month after his brain scan.

My theory is this.

If the headset merely scanned each player's consciousness and put it into the circus, then theoretically that means each character's "original" self is (most likely) alive and well in the real world... meaning there's no escape for the characters in the circus, it's only the game or abstraction.

Just some food for thought.

Again, I'm not really involved with the TADC fandom, so I don't know if this has already been brought up or disproven or something.
