Iâm Clara, a writer specifically aiming to write more fanfictions again! (ââżâ)
What to expect from me?
oneshots, short fics, imagines, anything that my creative brain can produce into fiction, I'll definitely try to write and share what I can (and maybe reach the point where you guys request stuff yourselves!)
what will I focus on?
I'll definitely write mostly xreaders, but writing ships specifically will probably take some time for me to write as I haven't written those kinds of stories in years (â„_â„)
Wait, you used to write?
(unfortunately) yes. I made a lot of stories and prompts that never saw the light of day until I shared one recently to my irls ăœ(°ă°)ïŸ
So... what now?
feel free to check out my account and maybe perhaps even follow me! Got a prompt you want to see come to life? Send me something through my inbox and I'll be sure to try it out myself (°âĄÂ°âĄ)
Prompt: Childe, captain of your rival school's soccer team, helps you clear out the soccer field and closes it up with you. Will he stop being an asshole? Probably not.
Characters: SoccerPlayer! Childe x Fem reader
Genre: Modern High School Sports AU, school rivals to something more?
Notes: This prompt was in my mind and I couldn't help but bring it to life. I hope y'all like this!
Now playing... She wants me (to be loved) by The Happy Fits!
Soccer practice was always fun but sometimes sharing the field with your rival team isnât the best idea. You had no choice though, both your team and Childeâs booked the same field for the same time slot and now you had no choice but to practice with their team.
Youâre not complaining, with the start of the season coming up next week, having a rough practice with his team can prep you and your team for whatâs to come. It was a great match, with both teams doing their best until the very end. Though it ended with a tie, you and Childe were fine with the outcome. With both of your teams being the best out of all the other teams, you were expected to meet in the finals anyway.
Now late at night, the cold breeze blows through the field as both you and Childe pick up the balls all over the place. He was moving the cart for the soccer balls while you picked them up. Childe, of course, was being a piece of shit by teasing you as you went around the field.
âYou wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid.â He laughs as you pick up the balls. âProjecting now, are we?â You replied, not backing down from his usual antics. âJust admit it, you have a stupid little crush on me. You should just leave me alone, you know.â He nudges your shoulder. âWhile I would love to do so, you and I are unfortunately stuck together while weâre still in season.â You groan.
âYouâre annoying, you know that right?â âIâm doing nothing but helping you clear out the field, Jesus.â âWhatever, you just wanna stare at my eyes all night long.â He teases, and your face turns more sour as he continues talking. âItâs funny how you always get upset so easily.â He added.
âAnd itâs frustrating how you sound like a fucking frat boy thatâs desperate.â âSays the girl who canât take a joke?â He stopped rolling the cart and when you picked up a ball, you threw a ball in his direction, a little harder than you anticipated. Childe grunts as the soccer ball hits his stomach, and you laugh it off.Â
âYou trying to get me hurt or something?â He complains and you canât help but feel bad. âSorry, got caught up.â You say as you pick up more balls and shoot them to the cart. âGod I hate you,â He replies. âYeah of course you do.â
Once you and Childe gather all the soccer balls, both of you sigh in relief. All thatâs left to do is to clear out the locker rooms and you can leave the field soon enough. The locker room was a mess, with scattered equipment here and there and some water bottles too. You start clearing the mess by starting with the trash.
âHow the hell does everyone, even my own team, leave this place a mess.â You complain as you clean up. âBecause weâre tired after training, is what it is,â Childe replies as he sees you struggle a little bit. âNeed any help?â
âJust clear out the equipment over there.â You point at the scattered equipment and he nods as he starts to do what you asked. Feeling a little bit of awkwardness, Childe tries to stir up a conversation. âSo uh, you going to the game of the other teams?â He asks hesitantly. âThe others? I mean, they could never compete against us. Contrary to popular belief, I do believe you and your team are good.â You reply nonchalantly.
âCocky, but seriously- youâre going?â He says as he puts back the last of the equipment. âProbably. Still need to look out for that one guy from Inazuma, looks promising.â âHe is good, though he wonât have a chance to play considering heâs up against me and my team.â He laughs.
âNot unless my team wins first.â You say as you tie the last garbage bag. âLike youâll actually win. I donât know why you bother to try, honestly.â He rolls his eyes. âWe may have lost last year but I swear this year is promising.â You reply as you remember last yearâs finals.Â
âAnd how will things be different this year?â He teases. âYou know what, let's make a bet. If your team wins, Iâll do whatever you want.â He adds, and you turn to face him. âI gain nothing from that. No thanks.â You grab your bags and lock up with him beside you.Â
âPsh youâre such a coward,â he laughs. âWhoâs to say I donât want something too? Let's just bet, come on captain.â Both of you were now walking out of the soccer field. âExcuse me?â You reply, staring at him in disbelief. âDid I stutter? If I win, have dinner with me. Whatâs so bad about that?â He smirks.Â
âYouâre unbelievable, fine! If my team wins youâll do whatever I want and if you win I'll eat dinner with you.â You say, defeated. He just never seemed to back down even in things as foolish as this. Childe does a little victory dance and you scowl and cringe as you watch him do so. âOh, you are SOOO on. If you lose, prepare for the best dinner of your life.â âWhatever you say, Ajax. Have a good night.â You reply as you reach the exit of the field. âGoodnight captain!â He says as he runs over to his car.
The night may be over, but things just got interesting.
As you drive back home, you canât help but laugh off everything that just happened.
Childe was always a tease, and even in previous games you would notice his tenacious energy. Your casual banter with him before and after games was always a pain in the ass, but no one can complain, after all, you and his teams were the best out there. Youâd eventually see each other and be the finalists every season. Now with a little bet placed, you canât help but feel a little motivation to do better than before.
Why did Childe make the bet in the first place? You could only guess.
END.
Notes: TEEHEE I felt so giddy writing this and I may or may not have another part already in the works... so if you guys actually want me to continue this ill post the next part soon enough >:) (also none of this is probably true to what soccer is but shhh for the sake of the story lets just say soccer does have equipment LMAO)

Characters: Lyney x reader (no gender-specific terms were used!)
Genre: fluff. nothing else just have fluff as an apology for my lack of posts đ
Now playing... Bewitched by Laufey!
Despite the numerous things Lyney has seen himself, nothing else can be as beautiful as you.Â
Heâs a simple man; he wants nothing more than him and his siblings to be safe and happy. But sometimes he wants to be greedy and take something for himself, just this once.Â
But it never happens.Â
That is until he sees you.
When you just met, to the trial, he felt nothing but awe. Someone was willing to go as far as helping him despite knowing each other for just a day. Sure, you as a traveler had a reputation around town, but seeing you for yourself changed everything.Â
He wanted to know you more, and see how things unfold by that point, but he didnât expect to tell you the actual truth of his upbringing. Itâs unbearable; you just started to know him, and now you know he is with the house of the hearth, someone who was in close relations with âthe knave.âÂ
The look on your face said it all for him. Heightened with emotions, he felt lost.Â
For once, he was unsure of how things would unfold now that you knew.Â
But for the first time, he didnât want to hide it. He didnât want to hide it from you- Because you gave him hope that someone with a background like yours could understand or sympathize with him.
So even if he saw that look from you, he wanted to make up for it.
And damn right he did, from finishing the trial, he felt so much relief to see your smiling face and he wanted nothing but to frame that moment right then and there.
âThank you, for believing in me.â He said. With all that said and done, he wanted to put this behind him and finally get to know you.
You and Lyney went around town, with his frequent magic tricks entertaining you now and then. While it was an act to garner your attention, he wanted you to look in between the lines. Rainbow roses arenât something someone just gifts to you with no meaning at all.
Enamored, you kept the rose in your room and looked at it every night before bed. Lyneyâs presence was very felt, and it felt so natural. You await the next time you saw him.
Weekly encounters became daily, and Lyney was always with you in your journey around Fontaine. You didnât mind, he was great company and you had a blast with him when you would do commissions for the guild.
But when it was time for you to leave, he didnât know what to do.
So on the late cold night, two days before you leave for your next journey, he knocks at your door in a hurry.
You open the door, half asleep and confused. âLyney? Did something happen?â You ask. âYes, please come with me, itâs an⊠emergency.â He says with urgency. He holds your hand and you both walk the quiet streets of Fontaine. With the shops closed, Fontaine never looked so ominous. The bright shine of the moon beneath the both of you, Lyney hurriedly brought you to the middle of the street. âLyney can you please explain whatâs going on?â You ask as he drags you around. âWeâre near, hold on.â He says.
When he finally stops, youâre confused as he sits you down on one of the benches. âWhat now?â You ask, really worried that something might have happened while you slept.Â
He breathes in, and out as he says âYouâre leaving right?â with a solemn look on his face. âI amâŠâ You reply. âYou know, when I met you, all I could think of was a firework.â He laughs as he holds your hand. âAnd how is this relevant?â âJust let me finish!â He exclaims and you stay silent.
âYou were something so⊠beautiful yet such a short glimpse. Just like a firework.â He made a small firework with his pyro vision on the palm of his hand.
âIâd heard about you before you even arrived here, and I was really interested in knowing more about you. And after the trial, I knew I had to take up every opportunity I could. And I did. And I thought youâd get the hint, get the clues I gave almost every single day but you didn't! You didn'tâŠâ He grips your hand tighter.
âAnd I'm tired of hiding this. So no more magic tricks⊠just me.â He breathes in.
âI like you. A lot. And I don't want you to go just yet because damn has t been the best months of my life! I spent all my life making sure my family was safe and sound and for once, I wanted to know if you were too.â His eyes looked deep into yours as he confessed.
You couldnât believe it. âI⊠don't know what to say.â You laugh and smile at him. âYou donât have to say anything just⊠stay with me for a little longer. Please?â His pleading face was all it took for you to hug him tightly. He tensed, completely shocked at your touch. âOf course I will.â You reply and thatâs all it took for him to hug you back. He nuzzled in your neck, unbelievably happy.
As the night ended, he brought you back to your quarters and before he could leave, he kissed your forehead. âGoodnight, my little firework.â You smile, roll your eyes, and close the door, your heart filled with nothing but joy as you lay down that night.
END.

Inbox is always open for suggestions and comments. I'd be glad to try out any prompts you guys give!
after writing non stop last week iâm gonna take a breather and figure out which prompt i wanna start first, but rest assured iâll keep writing ! ^-^
iâm fr gonna start implementing this cause my last three weeks of uni for this semester is coming and I think iâll have 0 time to write, but iâll still be here <3 thank you so much for following, liking, and reposting my work! If you have any prompts you want to come to life, just send it thru my inbox!
Skitters in here because I love your writing aah! Can I request something fluffy with Diluc and/or Zhongli? ;u; What I'm asking is what if Diluc / Zhongli was helping his quiet s/o tie their corset for an occasion later on yes okay bye ////
When itâs time for a party...
Notes: Second request, thank you so much anon! It's been really fulfilling to know people like my works so much they want to request stuff from me ⥠I don't write fluff very often but I hope I got your request right. ps, read until the end for a surprise!
Want to request something too? Here's my inbox!
Diluc would see you struggle getting in your corset, though he didnât want to pry. When he heard your grunt of frustration, he knocked on your slightly open door and asked, âNeed some help, my dear?âÂ
He would carefully help you out with your corset, slowly adjusting the ribbon and making sure the corset hugged your figure well. He would tie it in a small ribbon, the ends being long.Â
When he finishes, heâd take a good look at you in the mirror and grab the nearest hair comb he sees. He would brush your hair, slowly, calmly, and you felt relaxed and relieved as he did so. âLovely. Are you ready for tonight, now?â You nod, standing up to hug and kiss him on the cheek. âThank you, Diluc.â As you hug each other, he sighs in content.Â
Zhongli would assist you in dressing up before he dresses up himself. You didn't ask him to help, he just naturally did. He would help you pick out the dress and corset you wanted to wear, and heâd be truthful to what he thinks looks bad on you, and what looks good on you. When it was time to wear the final outfit, he would help you out in wearing the corset, asking âis it comfortable? Too tight? Too loose?â and once he was done, the corset ribbon was carefully tied with the perfect ratio of the bow and the ends.Â
He left you after that to prepare himself, and you took that time to fix up your makeup. When heâs done wearing his suit, you walk up to him, fixing his bow tie. âYou look splendid. Thank you for helping me out a while ago, Zhongli.âÂ
He would give you a small kiss on the cheek as a reply and heâd hold your hand as you exited the place to go to the party.Â
addtl. Since anons request short-circuited my brain when I got the notification, hereâs an added bonus! I hope you like this kind of content, and maaaayyybee ill write more things like this.
warning now: suggestive content. look away if you donât wanna see this!
When itâs time for the party⊠Both of them edition àšà§
Diluc would help you with your corset as Zhongli slowly put on your stockings for you. Both of them were delicate, giving small kisses around your shoulders and thighs as they both of them did so.Â
Zhongli would be kneeling in front of you as he fluffed up your skirt before you stood up, and heâd hand you your shoes like you were Cinderella, slowly helping you wear each heel.Â
Diluc would be behind you, putting his hands on your waist tightly as he fixed the corset to fit your frame. He would style your hair into a stylish bun, with a matching ribbon to match your outfit.Â
âPerfect.â The both of them said at the same time as they walked beside you to the party. Both men never removed their hands from your waist for the duration of the party.
Notes: I know anon asked for a soft fluffy prompt but I couldn't help but write a small suggestive section LOL I specifically wrote a ribbon part because I feel like the both of them would take note of those little details. Hope you guys liked this one (I wrote this while I was in a car LMFAOOO)

Hiii hello~! I'm not sure if this counts as a triggering or sensitive topic, if it is please feel free to ignore it ofc! ^^;
I was wondering how Tartaglia would react when he finds out reader is can't have children? He already knows having children of their own is a bit scary for her for multiple reasoning, but after trying to convince her, they give it a shot. Only to later find out... she can't have any kids. It devastated her only because she fears how Tartaglia would even view her and how crushed he must be feeling, knowing he's a family man and he probably dreamt of having a family with her for years?? (I like the childhood friends to lovers trope shh)
A good/comforting ending would be really nice.. reverse comfort sounds nice too.. I really want them both to be happy tbh :,-)
WHAT IF SERIES- REQUESTED! â§*ă
Now playing⊠Sweet Nothings by Taylor Swift
âAnd the voices that implore, you should be doing more, to you I can admit, that I'm just too soft for all of it.â
Content Warning: Heavy mentions of infertility, please donât read if this topic is sensitive to you.
Genre: Tartaglia x Fem!reader who is a married couple but reader is infertile. Angst with happy ending. Reverse comfort in the midst of it all.
Notes: my first request! Hopefully I got it right to the nail. This is my first time writing this kind of topic, so apologies in advance for any discrepancies.
Want to request a short story too? Here's my inbox!
âDonât you want a family with me? Tell me, honestly, is this where youâre coming from? I would understand if you were scared of having kids but-â
âItâs because I canât bear a child, okay?!â
You stand in your kitchen island, head hung low. In the heat of the argument, you werenât ready to say it to him, not when you just found out about it a few days ago yourself. Childe just looked at you, eyes wide open on the other side of the kitchen island. His hand which was bearing a fist was now gone.
âI went to the doctor. They said⊠I canât. Itâs not you, Itâs not the both of us, itâs me. And I know youâve been wanting this- God knows I wanted it too. But⊠Fuck.â You mutter, voice shaking. He didnât waste any time to walk up to you and hug you. You held unto him tightly, now crying in his chest. He comforted you by rubbing his hand on your back while whispering âShh, okay. Let's sit down on the couch.â
You stayed there on the couch, comforting one another for what felt like hours until Childe spoke up. âWhen did you find out?â He asks in a whisper. âThe day before yesterday. I didnât know how to tell you, but we were fighting over it again, and I got ahead of myself and just dropped it. I-Iâm sorry.â You reply with no more tears left to cry. He continued to comfort you, nodding at what you said as the both of you hugged one another. âI understand now. Iâm sorry too. For arguing about this, for everything.â He said.
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË
The next few weeks the both of you tried to ignore the feeling lingering in your home, the feeling of loss. The loss of something that couldâve been, imagining that someone that couldâve been in your and Childeâs arms, trying to fall asleep as you cradled the baby the both of you shouldâve had.Â
Nights fell silent, just a quick 'goodnight' from one another while Childe closes the bedroom lights. You stayed up late, thinking of how much grief you felt. You were grieving over a baby that wasnât even born yet, but something else plagued your mind.
How does Tartaglia feel about all this? Despite everything, you knew he wanted this the most. And that thought crushes you; Does he feel regret in marrying you now that you canât have his children? Does he not want you anymore after knowing that? Your sleepless nights consisted of those thoughts, left with more questions than answers.
But one night, staying awake in the bed you and Childe share, you heard a sniffle. You didnât move, hoping to hear it again just to be sure. And you hear it again, and again until it stops. You hear Childe fix his position, and then you realize, is he crying?
âAjax?â You whisper in the dark. You rarely use that name, but with emotions heightened that very night, you felt like it was appropriate.
âYes?â
âAre you okay?â you turn to face him, despite not seeing anything, you knew he was also facing you. You heard another sniffle and immediately closed the space between the two of you to hug him. âOh honey, Iâm sorryâŠâ You say, brushing your hand on his hair. He was now sobbing, the same way you did when you told him.
âWhatâs on your mind, hm? You can tell me all about it. Iâm right here.â You say, still hugging him. âItâs nothing, what you said last week just really hit hard.â He confesses.
"You know it's been a dream of mine, right? To have kids, more specifically to have one with you myself, for years now... Hell, I even told you before we became a couple that you'll have my kids and I'll have yours." He jokes, trying to lighten up the mood.
âI know, I know. Iâm sorry. Weâll find another way around this, Ajax, I promise.â As you said these words, he felt safe and comforted. He nods, and stays in your hold, the heavy feeling slowly drifting away. Though some things were left unsaid, both of you knew that this moment solidified your relationship even more.
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË
For the next few months, you and Childe researched heavily on ways both of you can have Children. From fostering to adopting, there were many options that you had in mind, but you both agreed to try and adopt a small pet for now.
You were still debating whether or not the both of you wanted a cat or a dog, or maybe a reptile, or even a bird. So adopting an animal was on hold for a bit.
One night, in a strong thunderstorm, you and Childe lay on the couch, watching a movie when you hear scratches on the front door. Confused, you look through the peephole, but you saw nothing. The scratches grew louder and louder until you opened the door out of frustration to see a small black-coloured kitten on your front porch, looking up at you.Â
âChilde, thereâs a kitten.â
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË
You kept the kitten of course, with it being adorably cute. You clearly saw how much this changed your and Childe's well-being. Heâd buy one cat toy per week because the kitten kept breaking every single one. He would always groom the kitten, despite it not needing that much assistance. He would always prepare it's food, and silently watch as the kitten finishes the food. He'd always wipe the kitten's face after it ate.
You saw how happy he looked taking care of the kitten. Though it wasnât exactly what you both had in mind, given the situation, it was enough.
One day, you went home to see Childe on the couch, lying down as the cat was sleeping peacefully on his chest.Â
You put down your things and went to the bathroom. Despite being notified of your infertility, you and Childe still tried. You knew you had to take a pregnancy test today, so you grabbed a test from your cupboard and did so.
After a few minutes, you barge out of the bathroom, pregnancy results in your hand. You run up to Childe, startling him and the kitten.
âBaby, Iâm pregnant.â
END.
Notes: I actually enjoyed writing this prompt, and to be honest I thought of the kitten as scara LMAO hope you enjoyed it! Thanks once again anon for requesting.

When Artem, Marius, Luke, and Vyn have to say goodbye to you (for now).
play come back... be here (Taylor's Version) for the full experience!
The four of them would lie to themselves if they said they werenât hesitant to leave you alone in another country. While they know you can handle yourself, theyâre still scared that they wonât be there to help you if you did need it.
⧠Artem would hesitate to text you. This man is too scared of annoying you with messages, especially knowing youâre busy with the mission. Heâd constantly look at your status (if you were online or not) and heâd call you every night just to make sure everything is alright. Heâd talk all night that you end up sleeping with the sound of his voice and he would realize that you had slept after 15 minutes of talking. Heâs just happy that at that moment, the both of you were connected somehow.
⧠Marius would be the opposite of Artem and instead bombard you with messages. Heâd be worried for you, like asking if you ate or drank water. Poor guy is so agitated he has a jet ready to fly to you if needed. Nonetheless, you reassure him that everything is fine. He would send a video every night, saying the important things you need to do for the next day. And in each video he sent, he never missed saying âI love youâ at the very end.
⧠Luke would message you updates on his day, instead of asking for an update on yours. Heâd send selfies in the office with the caption âworking right now!â or heâd take a picture of the city as he walked or biked back home. He would video call you at the end of the day, going through the case and asking you stuff like âWhereâd you eat today? Are you still jet lagged?â amongst other things. When you had to end the call, all he says is âStay safe, okay?â and when he realizes he hasnât said goodnight or I love you, heâd call you again just to tell you that.
⧠Vyn wouldnât bother you unless itâs absolutely necessary. You would send messages to him, but heâd react with one-liners. At the end of the day, however, he makes sure to put his focus on talking to you, but only through chat (he doesnât want to bother you too much so messaging is just better for him). He would be lying if he said he wasnât worried, but thatâs just because he didnât want to admit it to you. Instead, heâd send messages saying âDonât stay up too late. I love you.âÂ
Notes: Do you like this format? Should I change it? Yet another Taylor Swift inspired drabble, are we surprised? I'm happy with how much I've written for the past few days, It's been a blast to just write whenever I want.

Go listen to When emma falls in love while listening âĄ
ps. I made a masterlist of my fics inspired by Speak Now Tv here.
in this list are... Diluc, Kaveh, Childe, Itto
âWhen Diluc falls in love, he paces the floor, closes the blinds, and locks the doorâ
⥠Diluc would deny himself that feeling. He refuses to acknowledge his feelings until he realizes heâs been trying to see your smile often, making sure you got home safely. The moment he accepts his feelings, he wonât confess first. He hates going into things without being sure, so his refusal to confess first stems from the fact heâs scared you wonât reciprocate his feelings. When you do confess though, heâll smile in disbelief and would be the first to initiate a hug. He would hesitate at first but when you wrapped your arms around him he hugged you even tighter. (I live for touch starved diluc and what about it)
âKaveh waits and takes his time 'cause Little Miss Sunshine always thinks it's gonna rainâ
⥠Kaveh slowly realizes it and wanted to make his confession worth it. Heâd plan for months, carefully choosing the right way to confess to you because he doesnât want to blow this opportunity away. While he thinks of the best way to confess, he realizes he loves you too much that he gets scared of that fact. Heâd overthink, would you accept his feelings? Would you reject him? Will your friendship stay the same even after you reject him? That's why it took so long for him to say those three words to you; he was scared of the different ways it could go wrong. All his planning was thrown off the window when he just flat-out says it to you on a random Tuesday morning while the both of you were alone. He was flustered, shaking, and was about to turn the other way when you grabbed his hand to kiss him. Heâd melt at your touch and smile brightly as the both of you kissed. (Heâd totally ask you if you really do like him or did you just kiss him right after the whole ordeal)
âWhen Childe falls in love, itâs all on his face, hangs in the air like stars in outer spaceâ
⥠Childe would quite literally not hide the fact heâs in love with you. Like he genuinely just wants you to know he loves you, but he would never rush you. Heâs a gentleman, and he would wait for your answer, no matter how long it took. He would give specific gifts, like âI bought this for you because you said these were your favoriteâ kind of gift. He would be devastated if you rejected him, but so long as you let him express his love for you, it was enough for him. He makes sure all the time that you aren't uncomfortable with the things he does or the gifts he gives you. When you do answer him with a yes, he will absolutely carry you in his arms and kiss you softly.Â
âWhen Itto falls in love, heâs in it for keeps; he wonât walk away unless he knows he absolutely has to leaveâ
⥠This man saw you once and knew you were the one, and heâs persistent. He would do the most embarrassing things to get your attention, like a small performance with his pals in the middle of the road. Despite his comedic stunts, he pulls you out of the crowd of people to let you know heâs absolutely serious about what he feels. He canât really put it into words, so he puts it into action. He says sorry too for his public declaration of his feelings and would ask you to not feel obligated just because he did it publicly. âJust say it, and I swear Iâll stop. Iâm a man of my word.â When you confessed that you were starting to like him, he would scream at the top of his lungs out of happiness and crush you lovingly with his hug.Â

Being married to a successful businessman such as Tartaglia would be a dream for others, but it felt like a nightmare for you.Â
Youâd spent little to no time with one another, always passing by each other when the both of you would leave for work. In the same house that never felt like home.
He was dismissive of this whole ordeal; he clearly disliked the thought of an arranged marriage, but you werenât sure if it was the idea of it or the fact that it was you who he got married to.
Were you unattractive in his eyes? Is he detested to be with someone like you? Sure he may have had a long line of women waiting for him, but you considered yourself to be at least presentable.
Now you spend your days alone, despite having everything at your grasp.
Did you really have everything, when you had a husband who refused to acknowledge you?
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË
You got home one day, tired and sleepless. You had to finish up a huge deal with a potential client and you were exhausted by the time you arrived home. Seeing that Tartaglia wasnât home, you plopped on the couch and drifted off to sleep, letting your body rest after a tiring day.
An hour later, Childe comes home to see you peacefully sleeping.
He wastes no time and grabs a blanket to drape over you.
You wake up hours later, confused with the blanket on your body.
âYou should sleep some more, itâs still the evening.â Tartaglia calmly says as he goes back to his room.
You slept again, confused and wondering if he felt obligated to do that or if he genuinely cared.
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË
The morning you woke up, he was the same dismissive Tartaglia that you knew. He never acknowledged what happened last night, and just went on with his routine before leaving the house.
It ate you up inside how you couldnât understand him. Does he hate you? Is he staying for the sake of the company? And it hits you; He feels obligated to do all of this because it really is for the company.
That hurts to think about. But how can you complain when itâs as plain and simple as that?
You canât ask for more, youâre just a marriage on paper.
Everyone just needs to believe youâre in love, you donât actually have to be.
So why do you feel you yearn for someone so close yet so far away from you?
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË
Those thoughts crept up more and more as the weeks went by. It was clearly affecting your performance; you kept missing meetings because of how nauseated you were knowing Tartaglia was going to be in the same room as you.
You made your time out at work earlier so you donât have to see him at the house, and made your wake-up routine earlier than his so when he wakes up youâre already out the door.
All of that just to avoid him, to avoid seeing him, and realize you were falling deeper and deeper into something you shouldnât have.
But all of that effort was thrown off the window when both of your families set up a dinner party, forcing you and Tartaglia to be at armâs length.
âSame as before.â Was all he said before leaving the car to enter the estate.
You know the protocols the both of you set up to make it convincing for everyone; his hands on your waist and a bright smile with champagne on the other hand.
It hurt to smile like you were his when you know you werenât.
âSo how have the both of you been?â A guest asked.
âSame old, same old. Me and Tartaglia have been busy lately. I'm just glad we have time to ourselves when we go home at the end of the day.â You reply, hugging him with your arm as you leaned in close to him.
âIâm surprised you still use Tartaglia, donât you feel comfortable calling him Childe?â Your eyes perk up at that comment.
Shit.
âForce of habit, apologies.â You pass it off as a joke.
The night passes and you decide to stroll in the garden at the back of the estate, alone. Acting like you really were lovers took a toll on you tonight, most especially with these new-found feelings of yours that were getting harder and harder not to ignore.
As you sit on a bench, looking up at the stars, you think.
Is he getting tired of this? Heâll probably ignore me again when we go back home. I just hope no one asks us any more questions, I donât think I can handle it.
The thoughts were overwhelming. Before you know it, little droplets of rain start to fall on you rapidly. When you stood up, you were already drenched in the very strong rain. Instead of running back to the estate, you sat back, letting the rain pour onto you as you decided to cry it all out.
Pathetic as it may be, it was helping you let out your feelings. You cried, sobbed, and didnât care if people saw you. Either way, they wouldnât know that you were crying because of how strong the rain was.
What you didnât know was Childe was looking everywhere for you, out of concern because of the rain. When he saw your silhouette in the gardens, he wasted no time running up to you.
âHey-â He called out your name as he ran. âTartaglia?â You brushed off the tears rain from your face and looked up at him. âWhat are you doing here? Itâs raining so hard!â He screamed so you could hear him through the pouring rain.Â
You couldnât answer right away. âSorry.â Was all you could think of saying as he grabbed your hand to make you stand up. âYou couldâve gotten sick! You donât like getting sick, right?âÂ
It was true. While it would be natural for someone to hate being sick, you hated it on another level. When you would call in sick for work, youâd still have your laptop ready on your bed as you experienced a fever.
âH-howâd you know that?â You ask. âI know all kinds of stuff about you! How you hate people being late, how you like your coffee hot, how you would arrange the spices at home in alphabetical order for some reason.â He laughed, still talking loudly through the rain.
He looked beautiful. Despite the rain on his face, despite his look of concern for you, he was majestic.
âWait, were you crying?â He asked. His hand instinctively held your cheek.
âI-I wasnât.â You lie. âYour eyes are red.â âThatâs because of the rain-â You try to excuse yourself.
âLike hell it is.âÂ
He quickly wrapped his arms around you.Â
âAre you okay? Did something upset you tonight? Is that why youâre here in the rain?â He quickly asked those questions and you couldnât help but let the tears fall as you stayed in his arms. âIâm sorry Iâm usually more put together, IâŠâ You couldnât say the words.Â
Maybe, for now, this short-lived affection was enough for you.
âYou can tell me anything, you know that right? Iâm your husband after all.â Those words caused an incredible amount of pain to you for some reason.
You breathed deeply before asking,
âAm I your wife, then?â
He looks at you, confused. âOf course you are. I know I donât really show it, but I care for you. A lot. Contract or not, I still want to be married to you.â
One sentence was enough for all of your worries and fears to go away.
âYou don't know how much those words mean to me.â I sigh and hug him tightly.
He smiles fondly and accepts the hug as the rain poured down on the both of you.
âIâm sorry. It seems like I had something to do with your current state.â He says, still holding you.
âI thought you hated me⊠hated this.â You finally admit.
âI could never hate this. The only thing I hated about this whole thing was how I never got to fall in love with you the right way.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âYou-- gods youâre beautiful, you know that? And I was mesmerized by you when I would see you at gatherings. When I got the news we had to get married, I shouldâve been happy. But I wasnât. You didnât have the chance to love me for who I was and instead, you were dragged into this contract. So I⊠I made sure to be distant. For your sake.â He says, clearly feeling guilty and upset about how he handled the situation.
âClearly, that isnât working. And Iâm sorry. I thought you liked this arrangementâŠâ His voice starts shaking. âIâm sorry too. For making it such a big deal-â âIt is a big deal. No man should treat their wife this way and I learned my lesson for trying it myself. I wonât make this mistake again. Not when I finally know you feel the same for me.â
You had enough power within you to look at him in his eyes.
His mouth was trembling.
You put your arm on his cheek and smile.
âCan I finally kiss you?â You ask.
âIâve been dying to do that.â He replies.
The two of you lean on one another, lips touching with a bright smile. Despite the ongoing rain, you savored that moment. The moment when everything clicked.
The moment when you knew you were meant to be with him.
When you pull away, the both of you smile, still holding one another. âWe should probably get back now.â He laughs. âWe probably should.â
He holds your hand as the both of you walk back to the estate, drenched from the rain but happy and content.Â
END.
Notes: this trope has a chokehold on me and I swear I won't stop loving it âĄ( âĄâżâĄ ) This one is a bit longer than my first post, that's because I really wanted to flesh out the story properly with the right amount of angst and comfort. Hope I provided that!
Inbox is always open for suggestions and comments.
Genre: Arranged Marriage au, idk if it can be called a slow burn but thatâs what Iâm calling it, fluff, smidge of angst.
Warnings: unconventional relationship, Reader is described to have long hair that is brushed through. not edited
Requests: Open
a/n: another one out! :o Had to indulge myself a little bit before getting back to requests. arranged marriage auâs are my guilty pleasure and i just felt like writing for genshin again. Hair brushing and physical affection is also just such a big thing for me I had to write it. So if it isnât obvious i wrote this mostly for selfish reasons and that is the reason why it may be sort of all over the place lol. I hope itâs enjoyable either way!
A hug is all you longed for really. For someone to wrap warm arms around you and let you completely melt into them.
Being married it should be an easy ask
How unfortunate it is for you that your husband wants nothing to do with you.
Although the more you thought about it, perhaps that wasnât entirely true. He did agree to the marriage hadnât he?
He was the head of his clan, the Yashiro commissioner. Throughout the entirety of the process of arranging your marriage, Kamisato Ayato had every right, and more than enough chances to stop it from going through.
He had nothing to lose if he decided he wasnât ready for marriage, which was an excuse many citizens of Inazuma had heard over the years.
He really had nothing to gain from it either.
It confused you from the day the elders of your clan elatedly told you that by some insane amount of luck, the Kamisato Ayato had accepted âyourâ marriage proposal that had been sent in as almost an obligation.
There was no harm in trying and you were now living proof of that.
Why you? out of all the suitors he definitely had, he had chosen you. While your clan was one of the head producers of tea leaves in the country, you still couldnât wrap your mind around his acceptance, it was not like the Kamisatoâs needed the tea, they could have afforded it anyways.
There was no political gain for him either as he was already a tri-commissioner, you werenât even in line to become heir! Your uncle was the head of the clan and your cousins would follow in his footsteps.
The gossip about you flew all over inazuma like a storm cloud, and you heard it all, people werenât always subtle in their curiosity or distaste in you after all.
Some of the talk was harsh and negative, and yet you couldnât help but partially agree with what some people were saying about you.
You were a nobody as far as nobility went. The only reason you could think of as to why Ayato chose you, was likely to reduce the amount of mail that he got, as the marriage proposals had virtually stopped after your wedding. Aside from some particularly desperate people.
Perhaps you really were the best candidate for him. You werenât a prominent figure in the public eye, you werenât after the Kamisatoâs fame and fortune, and you werenât the type of person to fawn over your husband 24/7 and demand he shower you in riches and attention.
Although you almost wish that you were. Maybe then you wouldnât be longing for a hug as badly as you currently were.
While it was true that being married to Ayato meant that you had nearly everything you could ask for at your fingertips, and that it was rare for you to be denied anythingânot like you asked for much anywaysâthe one thing you could not ask for, was your husbandâs affection. How ironic. the one person you spewed rehearsed vows to about being his rock and what not, was the one person you could not get an ounce of love or affection from.
Of course you had never really had the chance to try at this point, as despite being married for 6 months already, you can count the amount of times you had a full conversation with the man on one hand.
âI hope that you can find it in you to excuse my lord. He is a very busy man.â Thoma had told you the day you had moved in and your husband was no where to be seen. The look he gave you the mixture of empathy and a wince.
That was the day reality set in. He looked at you kindly on the day you got married. Soft smiles graced both of your features during the ceremony, and you two spoke amicably during the extravagant reception. But this was an arranged marriage, a contract more than a relationship, and you both had duties to fulfill.
A smile that had been drilled into you since your etiquette classes from your youth crossed your face âThereâs no need to worry about me Thoma, I understand.â
So you had to learn to get used to being alone in an estate bustling with people. You opened your wedding gifts alone, sorted them accordingly and even sent out an astonishing amount of individual thank you cards to all the guests you had at your wedding.
You often ate alone, save for the times Ayaka and Thoma had time to accompany you. Aside from being reached out to for second opinions or approval you werenât given a formal job on the estate. Instead you were given an allowance, and were free to spend your days doing whatever you wanted, so long as the Kamisato name was protected.
Yes that was another thing you had to get used to, âKamisato y/nâ, âMy lady Kamisato.â Hearing the latter was especially hard, that title felt as if it was reserved only for your sister-in-law, she definitely represented it with more grace than you thought you were ever capable of.
The name and all the responsibilities it came with weighed down on your shoulders unlike anything you had every experienced prior, and here you pushed against it alone. Forced to go through the transition into married life without the other half of the partnership to support you.
That led you to your predicament now. You were coming to the realization that you were horribly touch starved.
It was even worse on cold windy days, or when it rained. All it did was remind you about how your late parents would use those days to curl up with you, a warm blanket, and a book to laze the day away and wish for nicer weather the next so that you could go out on a picnic.
you longed for those days of warmth and love again. Your family had been quite affectionate with one another. While Ayaka would come and spend time with you, treating you like an older sibling. Nothing could reach the craving deep within you.
You sighed to yourself as you walked through the streets of Inazuma, ignoring the whispers of people who passed and recognized who you were.
Or rather who you were married to.
âMy lady Kamisato!â greeted the Yae publishing house worker. âYouâve come at a great time, the new volume of your favourite series has just released.â
The worker handed you the book in question and you couldnât help the excitement that rose within you as you quickly flipped through âI was hoping that Iâd be able to pick something up today. Iâve been needing more things to do when the weather doesnât permit me to go outside. Any other recommendations?â
The worker smiled at you sweetly and handed you another book âSurely Lord Ayato, is able to keep you from getting too bored at the estate my lady?â
Your smile faltered ever so slightly, you couldnât let it drop in front of the worker, the last thing you wanted was for anymore rumours to spread. You pretended to read the synopsis of the book that was handed to you. âYes of course, but there are still times where he is not available. My husband is a very busy man.â
My husband, you didnât think you would ever get used to referring to him as that. He felt like nothing more than a stranger whoâs house you happened to live in, who you shared a family name with, who would grace you with a soft smile and a nod as you passed each other at the estate each making your ways to your separate rooms.
A gust of wind blew through the streets and both you and the worker shivered. You looked at the sky and frowned at the dark clouds rolling in, you flinched as a singular rain drop landed on your cheek.
The worker also looked up âit really is rainy season isnât it?â they looked to you âI would recommend you head home soon my lady, looks like itâs gonna come down any minute now and youâve got a long walk back to the Kamisato estateâ
You sighed, âwhat a shame, I was hoping to run a couple more errands today.â you payed for both books and placed them into your bag with a smile âthank you for the advice Iâll head out now.â
You walked away from the shop in the direction of the estate, waving behind you as the worker told you to stay safe.
âââ
Perhaps you should have stayed in town.
You come to this realization as youâre halfway to the estate. Komore tea house would have been much nicer than the weather you were experiencing currently.
The singular raindrop you had felt earlier had slowly progressed into a little more than a drizzle and you groaned to yourself as your clothing grew heavier as it absorbed more and more water.
You should have grabbed your umbrella
It was practically pouring by the time you had gotten to the estate, the trees of Chinju forest providing surprisingly little shelter against the rain.
Quickly, you rushed under the cover of the roof of the estate and sighed in relief once you werenât being pelted by water. You looked down at you clothes and cringed at the water dripping from the fabric and your hair onto the dark wood
Wringing out what you could beforehand, you opened the front doors of the estate as quietly as you could, albeit in vain as Thoma and your husband were having a discussion right at the entrance.
Both men turned to look at you as the door closed and you could only stare back awkwardly as the sound of water dripping from you clothes and hair, along with your shivering filled the room.
Thoma was the first to break the silence and began fussing over you not unlike a mother hen.
âMy lady youâre soaking wet! Youâre going to get sick! Iâll have the maids draw a bath for you. Please allow me to grab your belongings. Iâll have tea ready for you once youâre done.
Before you knew it, you were standing in your bathroom with a steaming tub waiting for you. Still bewildered at what had transpired moments before.
Still, Thoma and his efforts were never unwelcome as the bath was exactly what you needed.
You took your time in the bath, taking in the scent of the flowers and oils put in by the maids, appreciating how well the water warmed your once cold body.
Once finished, you were quick to dry off and get dressed, still towel drying your hair as you entered your room.
As promised, Thoma had left a tea set on the table in your room with a container holding tea leaves, knowing you liked to brew it yourself.
The only thing out of place was an extra tea cup.
As if on cue, the door to your room was gently slid open and your jaw nearly dropped at the sight of pale blue hair.
âMy lord!â you greeted, the words leaving you mouth before you could even try to stop them.
Ayato paused as the two of you made eye contact, it was almost as if he was surprised himself that you were in your own room.
Ayato was the first to regain his composure after clearing his throat. âMajority of my plans for today have been cancelled due to the weather, I was hoping you could allow me to join you for a bit.â
Your head was spinning, not able to wrap itself around the fact that your husband was in your room and actively trying to spend time with you.
âOf course if thatâs how you wish to spend your free time my lord.â you stammered, part of you still believing that this was some sort of dream.
A small shiver ran down your spine and you were reminded of the damp hair that ran down your back. You looked to the vanity in your room and then back at your husband.
âI hope you donât mind, but I would like to fix my hair situation beforehand.â
âOf course y/n thereâs no need to worry, itâs just me.â
That was precisely why you were panicking on the inside at that moment. It was only the man who was so busy, that his presence in the house on a daily basis resembled that of a gust of wind.
You sat down at you vanity and picked up one of your combs, beginning the task of untangling the mess you had created both in the rain and bath.
You nearly groaned out loud to yourself, you had kept your hair long to be able to use the multitude of flamboyant hair accessories you had acquired, but brushing it had always been your least favourite part of the entire process.
A awkward cough caused you to look at the man in your room.
âif you are comfortable with itâŠI could help you brush your hair.â
You stared in shock at the man in front of you. His face was genuine but you could tell by the reddening of his ears that he was flustered, the most you had ever seen from him.
The combination of being a witness to such a rare site and the fact that you were still in shock that he was there in the first place, had you speaking without much thought.
âThat would be very helpful my lord, thank you.â
The surprise on his face was visible You could only hope that your whirlwind of emotions wasnât as obvious.
Still, not one to go back on his word, Ayato gently took the comb from your outstretched hand and began to work. His powerful presence behind you almost causing you to curl in on yourself.
He was gentle, his hands warm as they followed your comb, a warm feeling spread throughout you chest as he so carefully detangled your hair, taking his time.
You hoped that he wouldnât be able notice through your reflection just how flustered you were at this moment. Your face was hot, your breathing was slightly rapid and you couldnât find it in yourself to look up at the mirror in fear that your eyes would connect.
Yet this moment felt so intimate, so tender and domestic. You could almost believe that you two were much closer than you really were.
A soft chuckle broke you from your thoughts.
âThis brings me back.â Ayato sighed wistfully, âwhen we were younger, Ayaka would let me do this for her. Though she seemed less than impressed when I would try different styles on her. I wonder if she would trust me with her hair again after all this time.â
You smiled down at your fidgeting hands âIâm sure she would if you promised no more experiments my lord.â
Ayato hummed in contemplation âI suppose you may be right, but at the same time maybe I wonât need to ask her if I already have yours within reach.â He leaned closer to your ear, âAfter all, am I wrong to assume that you are enjoying this my dear wife?â
Your face felt like it was on fire, you had never heard him call you that to your face before. You could feel the smug smile that was currently gracing his features as he leaned back and continued his actions.
âWell?â He urged after a moment
âNo you are not wrong to assume that my lord.â You managed to stammer out. Your hands clenched into fists in your lap as you forced yourself to say the truth, knowing well that he would be able to see through any lie.
He sighed. âPlease y/n I think weâre at a point where we can drop the formalities.â
Your eyes widened at his words and you spoke the first thing that came to mind.
âAre we really?â
His hand that was holding the brush froze mid stroke, the room was suddenly filled with a chilled silence and you cringed at the amount of malice an anger that you managed to fit into one simple question.
This was no way to talk to the man you were married to.
âForgive me my⊠Ayato. I did not mean to sound so harsh I just-â
âNo no thereâs no need to apologize.â ayato assured. He raked a hand through your hair and chuckled bitterly, âI supposed it is my fault that you feel this way about ourâŠsituation
You opened your mouth to protest but nothing came out. What he said wasnât a lie to make you feel better for snapping at him. It was entirely the truth and you were grateful that he understood where you were coming from.
âFinished.â He stated softly before placing the comb back on your vanity. âI hope that I havenât worn out my welcome.â
You paused for a moment, thinking about the situation you found yourself in, while wanting to get yourself out of the awkward moment, you knew that a chance to spend time with him again would be rare.
âYou havenât, donât worry,â you stated as you slowly rose from your seat. Still refusing to look up at him you gestured to the low table where the tea set sat, âPlease have a seat, Iâll brew the tea for us.â
It was quiet as you worked, the only sounds in the room being the clink of tea set, and the crinkle of tatami mats. You thanked Thoma in your mind when you saw that he had prepared leaves that were better steeped in lower temperatures, as the water had cooled down since he first boiled it.
âWeâll have to wait a couple minutes.â You said as you closed the lid of the teapot. Ayato nodded and an awkward silence filled the room.
âI donât want to use me being busy as an excuse.â Ayato suddenly blurted out.
You finally look up at him in surprise âPardon?â
Ayato cleared his throat âMy apologies. Itâs just that I know that everyone has been using me being busy to excuse me for being absent in this relationship. While I know that lin its simplest terms, what we have between us is a contract, part of me still hoped that I would be able to get to know you well and we could be much more than strangers. There are many times where I could have put my work aside and spent more time with you, but I for some reason I never found myself taking those opportunities.â
He looked almost guilty as he continued. âNow here I am, months later knowing next to nothing about you, and on top of that I expected you to be comfortable with speaking casually around me when we have barely even spoken before.
You pondered to yourself as you poured tea into his cup âWell if it makes you feel any better,â you poured more into your own âI also know next to nothing about you.â
âUnfortunately that only seems to add salt to the wounds my dear.â Ayato grumbled.
Your eyes widened at the pet name and you quickly lifted your teacup to your face to hide your embarrassment.
Ayato followed suit and hummed in satisfaction as he drank. âWell I do know one thing now. My wife is excellent at brewing tea. It must run in your familyâs genes.â
You waved him off âitâs just something that comes with experience, my uncle is the true master.â
âI also now know that my wife finds it hard to accept compliments.â
âHey!â
Ayato smiled at you teasingly as you glared at him, though there was no anger behind it.
âWell now thatâs unfair,â you stated âI should get to learn something about you now.â
Your husband raised an eyebrow, âwell what would you like to know?â
You faltered for a moment, not expecting him to relent so easily, âwellâŠâ you stuttered, âwhat type of tea would you consider your favourite?â
âReally digging deep are we y/n?â
âI couldnât think of something straight away!â
Despite the teasing, the questions continued, it was as if you were on a first date.
Except you were already living together and married.
One question was asked after the other. Ranging from you asking him about the daily life of a tri-commissioner, to him asking about the books you had bought earlier in the day.
It was only after Thoma had brought dinner to your room, that you had finally asked.
âSo why me?â
Ayatoâs chopsticks paused mid air âWhy what?â
You narrowed your eyes at him, he was playing dumb.
âWhy did Inazumaâs most desired bachelor, Yashiro commissioner, leader of the famed Shuumatsuban, and the man who brought the Kamisato Clan back to its former glory, the Kamisato Ayato. Decide that a nobody from a tea producing clan was the one you would want to spend the rest of you life with.â
Ayato looked at you in exasperation âYou arenât a nobody y/n thereâs so much more to you.â
âWe donât need to get down to the specifics, donât avoid the question!â You exclaimed, ignoring the pleased smile on his face as he took in your flustered state.
Ayato put a hand to his chin and hummed as if contemplating something grand. He took a moment to respond. âWould you believe me if I said that I found you to be a very interesting person y/n?â
You stared at him blankly.
âDonât lie to me we didnât even meet until the wedding.â
The smile that he sent you sent a chill down your spine âWell I suppose thatâs true in a sense, but we have been in each otherâs presence on multiple occasions.â
You couldnât mask the your surprise, âwe have?â
Ayato looked at you incredulously. âSurely you know how often the Yashiro commission requests supplies from your clan for the multiple events we host.â
You fiddled with your teacup âWell sure but that doesnât mean that it was a guarantee that we bump into each other. Iâm sure I would have remembered being in the presence of you of all people.â
Ayato shrugged, âBeing in the public eye is much more my sisters domain. I tend to stick to the shadows during bigger festivals that Iâm interested in. During one of these times⊠you caught my eye.â
Your eyes widened âI did?â
He looked bashful as he continued his story, you were sure that you were the first person to ever see him in this state.
âI always knew of you, as I often meet with your uncle for business. I donât know if you know this but he often worries about you and tends to talk about you during these meetings.â Ayato hummed in contemplation. âPerhaps it was a tactic to make me say yes to the upcoming proposalâ
You groaned in horror at the realization that the two men had been talking about you âI apologize for my uncles actions.â
Ayato waved dismissively âThats not the point. At a festival is where I first saw you and was able to put a name to a face. What I didnât expect was the fact that everything about you had fascinated me. The way you danced and had that kind of sparkle in you eyes as you wandered around in wonder. The way you kindly greeted everyone you met. I found myself looking for you at following festivals to see if that was always how you lookedâŠit was.â
âSo it was only my looksâ you teased
he sighed exasperated âOf course notâ
You laughed âIâm kidding. Keep going.â
âThen at one point I was due for a meeting at your estate with your uncle and I might have listened in on a deal you were striking with a business man. The confidence in your voice was obvious and the way you negotiated with grace and kindness, yet still with firmness, had me intrigued within the first couple seconds of me hearing it. My interest only grew when your meeting had concluded and I saw you step out. with an accomplished smile on your faceâ
You gaped at him, you very rarely took part in your familyâs business deals, only helping with what your cousins or uncle were too busy to handle. For him to be there at that time on that day was truly a great coincidence.
âYou really piqued my interest that day. Although it was not my first choice in ways to get closer to you, when I saw the proposal sent by your clan, everything seemed to fall into place.â Ayato laughed but his tone soon turned solemn.
âUnfortunately not everything worked out for me, because look at how things are going. I left you to fend for yourself against the public, we rarely see each other, and this is the longest we have ever spoken despite being married for months. I think I was just afraid of crossing any boundaries, after all this marriage is arranged and I had no idea as to how you felt about me.â
Without thinking you reached over the table and grabbed one of his hands in both of yours, touched by how vulnerable he was being with you, âI wouldnât have agreed to the marriage so easily if I thought ill of you in any way, while I may not have known you, you also piqued my interest. I wonât lie I was- still am extremely shocked, but I saw nothing bad coming out of this marriage really. It started off slow but weâre talking now, and well, donât you think weâve made some great progress?â
He smiled endearingly at you, âyes, I am grateful for this opportunity and hope that we can continue on this path.â
You laughed, ânow youâre making it sound like a business deal.â
After that, you and Ayato finished your dinner making pleasant conversation. The sun had long gone down when he made the call for the both of you to retire for the night.
He once again stood in the doorway of your room, only this time you were standing right in front of him.
âIâll have a heavier workload tomorrow but I think Iâll be able to join you for dinner again.â
You smiled up at him âI would like that, please let me know if thereâs anything I can help you with, Iâm part of this clan too you know.â
âIâll keep that in mind, thank you y/n.â
There was a pause and Ayato reluctantly continued. âWell I should take my leave for the night.â
As he turned, something seemed to overcome you, and you grabbed at his wrist,
âAyato.â
He froze and turned to look at you curiously. you shyly looked away, âbefore you go. May I have a hug?â
He gave you a teasing smile, âthis is all happening so fast, what will everyone think?â
âOh please weâre already married.â
He laughed and his smile softened.
Without anymore words, Ayato opened his arms.
You couldnât hold back the giddy smile that crossed your face and without hesitation you allowed yourself to melt into his embrace for the first time in what would become many.
A scent that was uniquely his filled your nose, and as you pressed against his chest you could feel and hear his heart pounding just as hard as yours. You nearly sighed in satisfaction as you wrapped your arms around his waist. A need you had been suppressing for months had finally been fulfilled. His hold was strong and comforting, his hold making you feel like you again.
Ayato chuckled to himself as his grip tightened, âwell now Iâve found myself in a predicament.â
Still holding onto him, you turned your head to look up at him. âWhat is it?â

"Then I guess I don't love you anymore."Â
Those words hurt. No, they stung. Diluc looked away, closing his eyes as he shook his head.
âSo now what? Are we through? Thatâs it?â You ask, infuriated.
Your dynamic with DIluc has changed over the past few months. From playful bickering to clear, pure annoyance with one another. This fight wasnât like the other fights you two would have. It was like everything changed so quickly, even though the both of you loved each other for years now.
But why canât you move past this fight like the others?
âI guess we are.â He finally says.
Confused and mad, you turn around. âOkay then.â You breathe out, voice shaking. It hurt to let him go like this. Mad at one another, showing little to no care. You didnât want to cry. Not at this point. So you left.Â
He watched you walk away.
He let you walk away.

The first few months after the breakup was manageable. You quickly disposed of everything that was related to him in your room. You would cry, but it was for drunken nights with the tone-deaf bard, drinking your sorrows away just to be better the next day.
Everything reminded him of you. Things you used to buy for one another, things only the both of you would understand.
But in the month of finally letting go of one another him, you never saw Diluc in the middle of Mondstadt. When you would visit angels share, he was never there. When you had to pass by the winery, he wasnât there.
Maybe it was for the best that you didnât see him.
But in the time you did see him again, was when you realized, it was right for him to let you walk away.
Because at that moment, eyes meeting and bodies freezing in place, is when you realize you really donât love him anymore. At least, not in the way you used to.
You walk up to him and wave your hand. Diluc remained still.
âHey.â You say, smiling. âItâs been a while.â âIt has.â Was all he could reply. His shoulders were tense, eyes blinking at a rapid pace. âHow have you been?â
âAll good. Iâm actually preparing for a trip. Iâm traveling to Inazuma and might not come back for a whileâŠâ You admit.
His eye widen.
âYouâre leaving?â

The first few months of the breakup were horrible. He couldnât accept it. You were gone, and he let it happen.Â
He didnât mean what he said. Did he? His head hurt. He doesnât know what day it is, but all he knows is that itâs another day without you by his side.
Would all of this be different if he asked you to stay? To come back to him, to take back everything he said?
But in the heat of the moment, he knew he told the truth.
The past few months before the breakup were nothing but horrible fights.Â
âYouâre ridiculous.â he said.
âAnd what, overreacting? You couldâve died out there, Diluc!â You cried out.
He sighed. âYou know what I have to do for my job.â
âI know. But it doesnât mean Iâm okay with it.â
Memories like that played back in his mind, making him realize all you did was care for him. His heart hurt at the thought of it. In one way or another, you did everything to show him you cared, and he only realized it too late.
His nights were sleepless but filled with silent sobs.

âYeah. Inazuma looked like a good place to go. I'll definitely miss everyone here.â You say, smiling.
You were smiling when he remained in pain. You were okay, and he wasnât. The thought crushed Diluc. You, happy without him?
âStay safe, then.â He replies, trying to gain back his composure. âI will.âÂ
âAnd Diluc,â You say before walking past him,
âThank you. For everything. I wish you nothing but the best.â
You walked away this time on your own accord,
Leaving him back where you left him.
Or more like where he left you, this time in your place.
addtl.
He wrote you a letter. He couldn't take it. Even after a year, he didn't like the underlying emotions he felt after leaving everything unresolved.
You didn't respond.
He wanted to go to you; he needed to.
But with an unanswered letter just sitting on your table, left to collect nothing but dust,
He knew he couldn't.
END.
Notes:
So... how was it? I wrote this in a daze honestly I would write longer ones but I know if I did I wouldn't finish it so here's (to me at least) a short one.
