@bathsmailman​​ //     alfred always told him not to go out yet, not wanting him to risk getting caught.  but this morning, he had left and forgot to bring out the trash before he did.  while he’d never want to betray alfred’s trust in him, it was still rather early in the day - who’s really going to pay much attention ?  besides, he needed to get out of the house more, staying in hiding wasn’t doing him much good physically.

quickly looking to make sure no one was outside, he made his way to the curb, still dressed in a pair of pajamas he was borrowing, chest and purple thread exposed.  tossing the trash to the curb, he glanced at the mailbox, wondering if anything had arrived.  he opened it, only to be met with disappointment.

damn. no mail.

he’s about to turn to head back inside when movement catches of his eye, panic quickly rising.  however, before he was able to move, he froze in place, staring in confusion at … some sort of creature making its way over.

“  what the fuck is …  ”

glenn’s pupils shrunk in horror as he was directly addressed, blinking twice upon the realization that this creature was, in fact, not just some creature at all.  slowly, the gears in his head clicked, and glenn realized who was talking to him when he called him by name.

FUCK !!!

glenn shielded his face with one hand, making panicked hand motions with his other.  in a whisper that comes out as more of a hiss through gritted teeth, he spat out a series of small and panicked shushes.

“ ACH, ACH !!   k - keep it down, would'ya ?!?  no need to wake up the whole g-ddamn … ”  his sentence trailed off as he took a better look at him, sweat beads rolling off his burlap skin.  while he’d never been particularly close with george before, it didn’t take a genius to figure out there was definitely something different about him as well.  avoiding his question entirely, he snapped back almost defensively.

“ christ, george, what happened to you ?? ”

Shocked by Glenn’s reaction, and the man’s erratic waving, caused Tillman to slap a furry paw over his own mouth, closing it shut. His eyes went wide next at the question that was tossed his way—what happened to you? It echoed throughout his head.

George wasn’t sure how to respond to Glenn’s question, making him freeze, much like how the same question caught Glenn off guard in the same way. Although, Tillman took a gulp of air, slowly removing his hand to reveal a slight frown. He pieced together an idea.

“It’s a long story, really…” George scratched the side of his neck anxiously. “I could tell you, but you’ll have to promise to be honest with me. That’s only fair, right?” He reasoned, trying to meet the man in the middle.

Tillman’s condition…was a private one. One that he assumed Glenn’s appearance to be as well. George figured that if he were to lay himself down and show Glenn his belly like some cat, considering the pharmacist looked just as strange, then Glenn should have no issue opening up with him either. It made enough sense in his head, at least.

Tillman rounded the sidewalk, turning down the street to head down another one of his mail routes. Although, something was different today, someone was out! Tillman doesn’t catch a lot of people awake at this time, let alone outside, so seeing someone puts a smile on his face.

“Hi there! Good morning!” Tillman says in a cheerful tone, fluffy paw waving and greeting the person. However, upon squinting, Tillman was able to properly make out who this person was. It made his jaw drop and his hand retract in shock.

“Glenn?…” was all that was able to croak out of his throat. Was this guy not supposed to be dead. You know… 10 feet in the ground or whatever? After all, it was Tillman himself who found the poor guy! But yeah, it was definitely Glenn, no doubt about that. For heavens sake, the guy still had the purple string sewed into his chest.

But that wasn’t all. The more Tillman looked, the more he noticed. That’s not skin—thats. Oh man.

“What happened to you?”
